    Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi
    Michelle H.

Be Banh Mi is an eatery that serves various banh mis! The inside is a bit small but there are tables and chairs for people to sit and dine. It was quiet when I went so that made service quick. I got the Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi, which is something I have been looking for in Atlanta. I really enjoyed it! The pork belly was actually crispy and filling, and paired well with the baguette. I wish I had more of the pickled carrots and tasted (more?) pate, but it was still a good sandwich! I would come here to try their other banh mis or to even just get another Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi.

I love their crispy pork and combination sandwich. Their crispy pork has perfect crispy skin and just the right amount of fat. The combination has enough meat and filling. They don't skimp on the meat at all. One of my favorite banh mi spot. Will definitely be back again if I need a quick meal. Would 100% recommend.

$6-7 for a banhmi sandwich stuffed to the brim with fixins, sign me up! My friend recommended this spot and got me a sandwich for takeout a couple weeks ago. I was kinda floored by the size and quality for the price. Hafta say everything in NYC is expensive so can't really compare, for sure this would be at least 2x the amount anywhere in the 5 Burroughs. That being said I was really pleased with The Classic Đặc Biệt: vietnamese pork sausage, jambon, cured pork, char siu, pate & pork floss $6.05-the crust of the chubby baguette was crunchy on the outside, sturdy enough to hold the combo of meats, pickled carrots and white radish, lettuce and a healthy schmear of a slightly creamy, herby aioli. The meats were an amalgamation of savory flavors and textures. Add some slivers of jalapeño for a kick. DELISH! They give you the option to cut sandwiches in half or not. The sandwich comes wrapped in paper so you can eat it on the go though the bread crust can be crumbly when you bite into it, so recommended to have a something to catch the crumbs.

My go-to banh mi spot! It's a simple small Vietnamese restaurant specializing in banh mi with a small selection of drinks. I would describe this place as "modern" Vietnamese because although they make banh mi, their options are a little more modern. I always get the Dac biet and the thit nuong. I highly recommend either one, they're both delicious and almost 99% of banh mi shop offers these so easy to compare across the board. The Dac Biet here is definitely different than most banh mi shops and you either love it or don't. They do offer different bread options, the regular or sticks, which I thought was cool because it's usually one or the other. I do wish they spread all their toppings a little better to ensure I get a bit of everything with each bite. They're pricier than their competitors. Sad to say they ran out of thit nuong today so I only got the Dac biet

Very authentic taste! I haven't tried any banh mi that has this good texture and taste in US for a while. Friendly staff and quite efficient. We got table and food within 5-7min after arriving. Clean, bright and homie feeling too. Oh their nuoc mia (sugar cane) is pretty good too. Freshly made, you can see the whole machine right there. Will come back again.

While it's not as cheap as our usual go to banh mi place, I'm glad that we stopped by and tried it out! Order at the counter & they make the sandwich on the spot for you. There's some seating available if you wanted to stay with some condiments at the front counter for you to use like sriracha. We got the grilled pork banh mi for ~$6 and it came pretty loaded with the pork which was nice. Their pate and butter were excellent, really enjoyed how buttery the sandwich was personally but I know some people would prefer just a hint of it. Overall, felt like an "elevated" (not sure what other word to use" version of banh mi in terms of the slightly higher price and quality of ingredients. Would come again!

Yum... the day prior we got banh mi from somewhere forgot the name but it was seriously lacking. We did a google search of our area and came here in the morning around 9am. The bread was crisp and warm, vegetables fresh and flavor was very good. I decided to be a fatads and I got a 2 stick style sandwiches, one was combo, the other grilled pork. Grilled pork you can definitely taste the lemongrass on there and for combo, I was expecting only cold cuts but it came with pork floss too. The stick is best described as a foot long hot dog but banh mi. I liked it because it was easy to eat and since it's smaller, it allows me to eat 2 lolol. Saving this for the next time we're in town. Bonus because they were super fast.

    Salted Iced Coffee
    Robin N.

The food here is just okay. I'm not a super big fan of the type of bread they use here. The salted coffee is fantastic though. Not a lot of Vietnamese places in the United States have salted iced coffee even though it's super popular in Vietnam. The service is sometimes good and sometimes bad. It just depends on the day and how busy they are. Not a place you could sit and eat at so I usually just get a coffee to go.

I usually get a glazed chicken and a ice milk coffee. And it's always good but when I went in today this is what they gave me it's not even filled all the way. I was going to ask why but I saw they were busy and didn't want to bother them. I'm not sure what went wrong today.

Y U M M Y! Be Banh Mi is excellent. I think this place trumps Quoc Huong in my book. Contemporary, excellent service, and much cleaner. The prices here are a tad higher than its competitor; however, the banh mi wrapping and clear labels make a huge difference. * Grilled Pork Banh Mi ($5.39/regular): My go-to order. Their pork is very flavorful. The banh mi itself is significant. The workers here don't skimp out on the proteins, which is a huge plus! Tip: Ask for veggies on the side if you're not eating the sandwiches immediately. Overall, the banh mi is super tasty. My new go-to spot now. Service and quick and staff are very friendly here. Love it!

    KBBQ Bulgogi bánh mì
    Christina P.

Sandwiches are delicious. I got the KBBQ Bulgolgi banh mi, and it was packed with veggies and a homemade pate and egg-whipped butter that is to die for. Each sandwich is about $7-8 without tip, and I would splurge occasionally to obtain a "fusion dish" between different cultures of this sandwich. There are other shops, though, that make a traditional banh mi better and are just as flavorful for a third of the price here. Service was subpar. The guy who took my order November 22 around 10:30 am seemed less than enthused to take my order. He also kept asking me if I was done ordering after each item I ordered. When I asked for the salted iced coffee, he coldly replied that there wasn't any. My cousin and I sat down while our sandwiches were being made and ate at the venue. It is a small sandwich shop with enough chairs and tables for a few small parties to fit in. I felt very unwelcomed and slightly unnerved as both of the employees loomed by our table and watched us eat. This unfortunately makes me reduce the quality of this review down a star. If I were to visit this establishment again, I would prefer to go to the Duluth one and see how service is there.

    Ice milk coffee.
    Andrea M.

The banh mi was good: the classic. It was a pretty sizable sandwich with good breading. That's already half the battle. The inner fillings were really good, especially with the pate. The dried pork shreds were interesting imo. There was a good portion of the fillings so I was happy. The hubs said this was pretty comparable to the ones we had in Vietnam. And then a friend chimed in and said that the owner studied under someone who specialized in banh mi and cultivated what he learned into the business. The ice milk coffee was good, but there was way too much ice. The friend also pointed out that half a coffee was an improvement than the 1/3 when this place first opened. Heard the pork is particularly the thing to get here. I usually go for the classic, and it did not disappoint. The hubs got the said pork, and he seemed to have liked it. Side note: You will have a bunch of Vietnamese eyes glare at you as if you're disrupting their computer time to take an order. In this Omicron environment, we weren't even sure if we were welcomed to dine in...

    Linna L.

This isn't a place I would really sit down and eat. It's a small space. The food is amazing though. I've ordered take out here about 10 times already. The service is quick and the staff is communicative. I've tried every banh mi on the menu and I haven't been disappointed. My favorites are the classic and the tofu! I get everything on in. I love the options of the different types of bread. I enjoy the ratio of the skinny bread because it's the perfect portion with the toppings. One of my favorite banh mi places!!! See you next week!

Ask the Community - Be Banh Mi

Can the egg be removed from the black bean bahn mi?

Actually the bread itself is made with egg. That’s the reason why we need to let our customers know about it. Because for what I know some vegan can’t eat egg.

    What are the vegan options?

Just one so far. The No. 6 Black Bean Tofu banh mi.

I think their dishes although prepared authentically are underwhelming in terms of the depths in flavor and really the soul of Vietnamese food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese food for a standard issue white girl. The pork patty was dry and likely made at the beginning of the week and just reheated as the week went on. It was pretty bland and had this rubbery overly bouncy consistency and literally snapped when I bit into it. It basically got lost amongst all the fresh herbs too. As you can tell from the photo the Bánh bột chiên was burnt and it ended up being burnt on both sides. The squares were cut too thick...and because they were cut too thick they were on the mushy side even after being overly pan fried. All of the veg was fresh and well cleaned, the rice noodles were not overly sticky and clumped together. The pickled carrot/daikon were tasty. The server I had was attentive and polite. The interior was as to be expected and I couldn't care less that it's a little rough around the edges. If the tile isn't cracked, if the booth's vinyl isn't taped up, the utensils aren't mismatched and the tables aren't wobbly then I don't trust the place!! Like I said-I don't dislike it here. I just don't see the hype. Then again I feel like I have to piece together my favorite dishes from several spots between Doraville/Chamblee and Duluth, so maybe it's because I haven't found one place that checks all the boxes and I can get all my favs from one place. I will come again...because I love Bánh hỏi.
