Johanna uses only positive training methods and has a vast knowledge of dog behavior/psychology. We have two dogs (one that is very neurotic) that started fighting (among other issues). These fights accelerated until it was almost a daily occurrence. When we started meeting friends and family anywhere but our house, we decided we needed help. Johanna came to our house, helped us to understand what was going on, set some goals with us and gave us detailed instructions to accomplish these goals. When my neurotic dog decided he was going to be scared of the clicker, Johanna immediately changed her methods to make him comfortable. When my other dog was so hard to motivate, she was so patient and explored many things to get his attention. When my husband and I would get frustrated, she would re-route that frustration into a calmness that allowed us to be able to train in a loving, successful way. Johanna Teresi has given us so many tools to make our house a much more pleasant place where we can now have friends and family over.

Recommendations for Dave with Innovative K9 as a trainer kept coming across our search and we decided to invest in the Puppy to Adult Dream Dog Course. To this day, the money spent was absolutely worth it. We learned how to continue training at home, and have always received support with any questions or concerns. We are so happy with the results, we drive an hour each way to board our dog with Innovative K9 when we have trips out of town. Now they offer pick up and drop off which makes it even more convenient! We unfortunately haven't had an opportunity to participate in the group lessons on Saturdays at the park. Adopt or rescue a dog and invest in Innovative K9's board and train program- you will learn modern behavioral training and have a dog that makes you proud. We cannot recommend Innovative K9 enough!

I really don't know where to start because I have a lot of good things to say about Calling All…read moreDogs. We took our first puppy class with our 3 month old corgi. Each class includes a little bit of puppy playtime (usually at the beginning to get some of their energy out) followed by hands on training. You will learn skills in the class, but you have to practice then at home consistently if you want to be successful. They also give you handouts which are available online to reference. Our puppy still has a ways to go but he has learned a lot and so have we. They use positive reinforcement, no punishment, and they really help you to build a bond with your dog. Kelsey, the trainer, was amazing, as well as the rest of the staff assisting her. You can tell they all really love dogs and enjoy their job. I was a little nervous about trying to do a class during covid but it hasn't been an issue at all. The classroom is quite large and everyone wears masks and are more than 6 feet away. It's nice that they've taken more than the necessary precautions to make everyone feel safe. It was also nice to meet other puppies and puppy parents who are encountering the same difficulties you are. It's nice to know you're not alone! Having a puppy sometimes feels like having a newborn all over again and not knowing what the hell you're doing! :) They also offer puppy playtime sessions on Saturdays (I think on Sundays too sometimes). It's only $5 and a great way to socialize your puppy and wear them out. You get 3 free sessions when you sign up for a class and a few 1/2 off daycare dates with your class. There's also a retail store. They have treats, toys, food, harnesses, leashes, etc. In my opinion it's the best selection I've seen. Pet stores may carry more options, but these are more like "the best of the best" options. They seem very handpicked. Things that are really hard to find, you can find here. Our puppy loves the beef tendons, and they last him a long time unlike other treats/chews. They carry lots of other treats like cow ears, pork pizzles, beef tracheas, cow tails, bully sticks, etc. They will recommend products in class which I think is nice if you're a little lost, but never pushy about buying their products. I bought a snuffle mat from Amazon and that was a big mistake. He tore it up pretty easily, and just tipped it over to get all the food out, haha. So I was hesitant to try again, but calling all dogs make theirs in house so after "sampling" it in class, I thought it would be a good purchase. The fabric is much stronger and the mat is weighted so he can't pick it up. It's a great way to occupy him for a bit and calm him down. I'll definitely be back to buy more products/treats from them. I would highly highly recommend Calling All Dogs to anyone looking for puppy classes or even for their older dog. They offer some cool specialized classes like agility, scent work and tricks, which we plan on doing later. I haven't seen any other places with such a huge variety of classes. I hope you check it out, you won't regret it!

We started our puppy in Puppy Prep when he was 9 weeks old. Now he's almost 5 months old and recently started his second class, Wonder Pups. We look forward to enrolling our pup in agility training after he graduates Wonder Pups since he is such an athletic dog. All of the trainers and assistant trainers that we have met have been very nice and knowledgeable. Our puppy loves going to class, he especially loves the play times. We look forward to class and playtime every week and definitely plan on being lifetime customers as long as we are in the area. We love supporting a local business and we love Calling All Dogs!

I love the trainers and am so impressed that they volunteer their services. From day one to now, Maggie has improved tremendously! We have tried other places, but GSLDTC is the only one that has worked. I have also found that a lot of training has to do with ME. They have been so patient with Maggie, showing me how to handle situations peculiar to her. They have so many good ideas and methods for teaching both Maggie and me! I look forward to the classes every week, where we learn and have fun! I intend to take more classes with these folks. They are fantastic!

I took my dog here at the Great Salt Lake Dog Training Club for beginner obedience. I have done a…read morelot of training on my own and wasn't sure if there would be anything new in the beginner class for us but I thought just filling in the gaps would be good. I found a HUGE gap. My standard poodle got very reactive. This is because her first owner was a very elderly woman and I don't think Lucy got much of any socialization. She would just bark for really no reason other than she was seeing movement, etc. It wasn't really improving so the trainer (who had tried many things to help) asked some other trainers there to evaluate and offer suggestions. We came up with some things that were helping & were going to try an e-collar but I had mentioned that I had used a spray bottle with water once that was initially for my cat. Well, turns out this is just what my Lucy needed to get her to stop and think. By the end of the 8 weeks she was barking less than any other dog there! And her reactivity in general was much better than before even thinking about starting classes. Yes, they are volunteers who many of them have been doing dog training for over 20 years. You don't need to be a "professional" to train dogs. That's ridiculous! They are great people who love dogs and want to help others. In my class alone everyone on the last day gave lots of kudos to the instructor and were very grateful for the class. Lots of improvement was apparent!! Skip the big box store training classes and meet new people and help a non-profit organization who really cares and offers a lot to the community.

He is calm, and not in my face all the time. This guy really knows dogs. If you have a dog that is out of control like Maxwell Louis was, this is the guy for you. Max was a biter. He bit three dogs and four people. Kevin showed us how to stop that from ever happening again. For troubled dogs Bark Buster's is the best. I highly recommend them.
