I am not impressed at all with the Grooming Dept. I took my Shih tzu to get a puppy bath and trim, after 2 hours of my puppy being there I got a call asking me if I wanted a Trim on his whole body because he looked funny with his legs all shaved (not trimmed) and long hair on his body, so I told her it was ok to trim it not shave his body, she mention they were going to trim about 1/2 an inch, when I picked up my puppy he all shaved and he was so nervous, he was shaking the rest of the day and at night he was throwing up. I am really upset with all this, the lady that called she even mention it was taking so long because whoever was working on my puppy was new. As a new grooming customer with a very messy old man (my 14 yo lab mix who is my retired service dog is often quicker to get dirty these days), I had an amazing experience. We had a little snafu figuring out the certification of his rabies shot, but that was my mistake and I totally understand the necessity. I brought him in today, knowing his pain and chronic conditions would make him somewhat needy and we both felt anxious. I wish I had gotten the groomer's card, but I just was distracted with everything going on, so I will next time! Nonetheless, she picked up on his loss of sight, hearing, painful hips from dysplasia and arthritis, but also his very sweet demeanor. I usually groom him myself because I can do separate steps since I have health problems of my own that he helps with, and I know he was behind on his care and I felt embarrassed! Our groomer was 100% nonjudgmental of his scruffy state and was very clearly focusing in on the dogs' needs as they come in. She was polite, kind, patient and gracious, and to my surprise, my creaky old guy came out looking fantastic! I wish I had taken pictures at the time, but I'm going to let him rest for now. I'll be making an effort to log in to PetSmart's system and reviewing there as well, but I just have to say -- what stellar service! Not only did he come out looking so handsome and very thoughtfully and thoroughly cared for, she chatted with me about being mindful of his arthritis in his hips, his gentle and loving personality and let us know what was done/that she got limited clipping or the fur on his paw pads, which I pre-emptively said he'd likely refuse and that it was fine. I guess the thing that really struck me after all this is how happy he looked coming out, how they had very clearly bonded, and how she's working in this industry because she obviously loves meeting the needs of dogs and finding ways to develop relationships with them and pet owners. She has a unique talent for connecting and communicating with the animals in her care, and she obviously lets them show their personality to her and responds kindly to them. It's a talent that I've always described in work with dogs in training, for service, obedience, hunting, rescue, protection/police and so many other working dogs. She's obviously shown she's a hard worker and caring, and that plus her talent will take her far! If there's a way to return and add more with her name, I'll do so, and until then, I'll be adding my review to their direct grooming salon website for Riverton Petsmart. If you're trying to find her -- she's a petite young woman (in her 20's, I'd guess) with long, straight brown hair that she pulls into a low ponytail for work, and she has adorable freckles and a really kind and easygoing energy. read more

First time to this place since I have always used a family owned grooming place. Unfortunately, the groomer I used before was to complicated to do an appointment over the phone and it was always a month out for appointments. I called the number on the Pet Smart site and the availability right away was awesome. Plus, my doggie looks fabulous and happy. Be back for sure! read more

your fish set up really needs to change or you need to find a way to allow customers better access to actually be able to see in the top tanks. You cannot see the top tanks and a lot of us are very particular on what fish we want to look at in home everyday. Your employees won't allow customers on stools or anything to get a view at all. I get a complete change would be costly and time consuming so how about you allow stools and such like petco does so we can view and have better access to what we are there spending our money on. read more

Disappointed and sad. Never had an issue at this location till today. I went with my son to adopt a cat he saw there. Unfortunately, the cat had been adopted by someone. He saw another cat he was interested in, but wanted to meet it before making a decision. He went to find someone to assist us and was horrified to hear a female employee working in the aquatic department nearly shout at him that she "Didn't have time for that today" I was approximately 20 feet away and I heard her! A few other customers heard as well. My son was polite in his approach and did not deserve to be treated that way. After a stunned couple of minutes another female employee came over and helped us. I mentioned her coworker's behavior and I was told that particular employee is a "trainer." Having Customer Service and Human Resource experience. I am shocked! I am extremely disappointed I went in to get a few things and dog treats I noticed they were doing a deal the whole wall had a deal of dog treats I was reading the labels and noticed that it's said buy 3 get the 4th free so I thought hey great deal but when I was checking out the cashier told me that the dog treats I grabbed were not doing that discount in my head I thought it was stupid why have something on display and have it be incorrect come on guys do your jobs :( read more

Nicest petsmart that I have been to in awhile Everyone that works there is helpful and friendly. They have pet adoptions on Saturdays and free samples on the first Saturday of the month. Fish tanks appear to be clean and they have a big variety too. Large variety of dog food but my favorite is Blue Buffalo. Nice to see the shelves fully stocked too. They offer grooming, dog training and adoptions (but I think I mentioned that lol). read more

I have 3 JRTs and taking them to a vet for regular nail clipping is out of the question (they all charge a ridiculous amount to do a simple task), so I've been going to PetSmart for a quality service at a reasonable rate....that was until I went to the PetSmart in Mountain View Village. OMG, this place had the audacity to charge $19 for a simple nail clipping, and I was forced to pay $60 for general maintenance care! Absolutely absurd. I was shocked when the gal told me what my total due was, and when I exclaimed my disbelief she couldn't care less. Shame on you PetSmart for your excessive greed and lack of consideration towards your loyal customers and pets; I will never use your grooming service or shop in your stores ever again. Horrible service and charges me extra fees with no reason. The menager charge me with late fees, but on the recipt it was brushing fee. When i ask do you have any policy of late fees? She said no. So that means they can charge the customer whatever fees they want without showing any policy. Never come back! We have been to groomers twice at this location. The first time, no issues just a little pricey. But worth the convenience of location and getting in right away. (For this I have given it the "extra" star) The experience we had today... NOT WORTH going back ever. The groomer claimed my dog was difficult and hit me with extra fees due to it. My dog has been groomed plenty of times at different spots and NEVER had this experience from any of them. $10 extra for being hard. Another $40 for dematting although she is shaved bald. so.. we arrived for pick up with a FAT bill and a hairless pup. None of this was communicated prior to pick up. The manager was ZERO help. We'll take our money, business and "difficult" pup somewhere else. read more

Every time I make a grooming appointment they call me the morning of right before the appointment and cancel, every single time. Extremely unprofessional and rude! I am really angry. I went to Petsmart today to buy two leashes to put out on the lawn for our two dogs. When I got home and looked at the area I realize I should've brought shorter ones. So I went back with the two leashes and went to the counter and they said they're not taking returns because of COVID-19. I said well someone should've told me where is it posted and they said it's in our return policy. That is just wrong. Costco Home Depot and other stores are doing returns so why not return something like that? They have lost my business.It is dishonest for them not to tell people when they walk in the store when they check out that they are not doing returns. read more

Terrible. They canceled my grooming appointment and couldn't reschedule me for a couple weeks, then when I came back in they refused to do my dog cause the rabies was one day over due. It took another 10 days to reschedule and at the third appointment they refused to groom my dog cause he had a little matting on his ear. They caused the problem. Absolutely horrendous customer service. I will never go to PetSmart for anything ever again. read more

I've been to this location for grooming about 5 times since they've opened. Every single time there has been a problem, or the groomers have been unkind. It Is so conveniently close, but I can't do it anymore. I have always had issues with this petsmart not being professional but today was very disappointing. I went in to look at some cats that had been dropped off an hour earlier, immediately I was drawn to one specifically and he came up to me right away, I have been looking for another baby cat to have a companion for the one that I have. I fell in love and was told by two people that I would just need $100 cash and a carrier to be able to take him home so I said okay I will go get those things and be back, she said okay great. I took about 30 minutes running home to grab the carrier and cash out of the atm, hurried back.When we walked in the front cashier went on the walky and said "hey those girls are back to adopt" and told us to head back there. as I walked to the adoption area there was somebody grabbing him already and his adoption paper was gone. they never took his paper off and never told anyone we were coming for him. I am so upset, communication is not a priority for this location and I will not ever be recommending this pet smart. they told us there was nothing they could do except apologize, don't spend your money here. read more
