I've had two bikini waxes with Anna, the most rockstar waxer that's ever waxed me. She is quick, thorough, and painless, and so incredibly nice and fun to chat with. The salon is impeccably clean and bright--key signs that it's safe to spread your legs in any establishment. I came here on 4/13/2018 having scheduled a facial with extractions with Beth. The space is very clean and bright and I was greeted immediately upon entering. Beth led me to a chair where she had me fill out some new client paperwork all the while assessing my skin. Beth felt that it would be more appropriate for me to have the mandalic peel instead of the facial with extractions based on the quality of my skin (I have cystic acne and a lot of congestion). She was extremely kind and diplomatic in her explanation of why she felt it would be better for me. I consented to the treatment she recommended. Beth explained the process in a detailed manner and had warned me that the peel would hurt a lot and holy smokes did it ever! But I knew what I was signing up for and I knew it would be good for me. The entire time she was extracting she constantly checked in with me to make sure I was okay while also just being one of the most pleasant people I've had the opportunity to encounter. She made the painful process seem not so bad by keeping my mind focused on conversation instead of being focused on my acne being lanced haha! She explained what the recovery would be like and she was spot on. I can already see a huge difference in the quality of my skin. I've already booked another mandalic peel with her to continue the process. Beauty is pain, as they say, and I'm looking forward to the results. read more

I got my brows done here for the first time in my life (I'm 25) back in May. So, needless to say, I was very anxious about having them done and how they would turn out. I went in for extractions after mid-terms when I broke out and this cleared my skin up. I was a little welted for a day and a half but my face was clear. I used to go after my blackheads and try to do my own extractions... but I would always make it worse. I've been doing acne peels at Be Smooth for about 2 months and I'm seeing a lot of progress in my acne. My acne is mostly hormonal, with flare ups if I'm not taking good care of my diet. I think I had tried everything to clear up my acne, every doctor prescribed antibiotic and topical treatment, as well as proactive, and many other product lines. I've tried going super simple with organic natural routines and mother worked. As someone who felt so hopeless about my acne I was skeptical about trying one more thing. But I'm so glad I did because finally I found something that's really clearing up my acne, sticking with the peels on a bi-weekly schedule and using the product line has really worked and I feel so comfortable wearing my bare skin now without any make up!!! read more

This is for a Brazilian Wax First off I had to call because I was going to be late and they were very accomidating which is very appreciated because most wax salons are very rude and give you crap about how they are booked two weeks out. First star When I arrived they seemed pretty busy so I even appreciated it even more that they were able to wait for me. Second star Next Jessica was so polite and made sure to make me feel comfortable and made sure to let me know that she was using both hard and soft wax and why and made sure I knew what to do to prevent ingrown hairs. Third star Jessica was very quick but not sloppy and understood when I got jumpy, she went out of her way to make it as painless as possible. Fourth star Lastly when I was done. I was done. No one tried to persuade me to spend a bunch of money on random products, that is a huge deal breaker. In fact when I inquired about a certain product the owner explained what it's for and said I may not even need it and to wait and see because it may not even be necessary. So to me that earned the Fifth star! I definitely recommend checking this place out especially if you are on a budget because they offer memberships which get you discounted rates. As a student myself who can't always afford a wax this is definelty a must and will be getting one soon. read more

I came in here for an emergency Brazilian wax during my 10 day long vacation in the NW. I get regular waxes at home in California but didn't have time to fit one in. I called around to a few salons in Portland and came across Be Smooth. They had reasonable prices ($50.00 a wax, and $40 for a happy hour wax with a yelp check in). When I called to see if they could fit me in on short notice, the woman who answered was extremely helpful and was able to get me in within 45 minutes. Jessica was my waxer. She was extremely friendly and experienced. I have gotten waxes from several different salons, and have had horrible waxes and really great waxes. Jessica was up there with the great (and if I lived in Portland I would be a regular). The wax took about 30 minutes and I could tell that she was taking her time as opposed to rushing me. She got every hair and tweezed the little ones that the wax did not get (I was in between waxes and not all hairs had grown in. Have definitely left other salons with some strays, but Jessica got it all!). Aside from the fact that she got each and every hair, I have never felt so comfortable getting a Brazilian! We had great (distracting) conversation, she applied pressure at the right time to minimize pain, and made it as easy of a process as possible. I will return to Be Smooth when I am back in town and highly recommend Jessica for your waxing needs! read more

Helene is so sweet and she really knows her stuff. I was there on a Sunday and it was simply her and her daughter. It was insane because she was giving me a facial, wax, and trying to answer customer's questions. It was quite hectic, but I was fine with it. She was so knowledgeable and gave me such great advices about my skin, and I see a huge difference by following them. Her helper - Katie did a great job on the waxing and I highly recommend using her for that service. Although appointment is not mandatory or accepted, you do want to go during low-peak time which would not be a Sunday. I first tried a regular facial since my face is super sensitive. I didn't have any negative side affects or redness, so this was great. I went back 10 days later and received the 55 minute pore facial. I was real happy with the results and Helena was friendly, professional and kind. I'm definitely going back. I love that this place is conveniently located in the pearl district. It's owned by a French lady so the products they sell there are all French products. I got this lotion by Roger & Gallet there that's amazing! I did the seawee steam detox; where they put a layer of seawee on your whole body (neck to toe) and place you in a steam tent with your head out. It does get quite warm/hot that you sweat a little. The girl considerately placed a cool towel across my chest. It was very relaxing. Although I wish they play more spa relaxing music than french music. After the steam treatment, they cover you in their lotion. She put green tea lotion on me. I wish they had offer different scents since I would have preferred rose scent. You leave the place having the baby soft skin :) Loved it! PS. you do have to get almost naked. so if you're shy or not comfortable with it, it may not be your thing. Also, don't plan on showering right afterward since they recommend you to leave it on for 2 hours. read more

I came here on the suggestion of yelpers and was not disappointed! As I travel for work, it is sometimes a bit of a harrowing challenge to find a waxer based solely on yelp reviews when you don't always have regular ol' word of mouth to count on. I usually require a mix of hard and soft was and even then have some "unruly" hair so I'm used to waxes taking every bit of 30 minutes. But Jessica was very quick and had very little spot checking to do! It was definitely one of the quickest waxes I've ever had! And it wasn't too bad on the pain scale either. Well..the waxing pain scale, that is. You're still getting hair snatched from your..um, well...you get where I'm going. Only taking a star because at $50, I would think I'd at least be offered a water or something. But I'm basing that on New York $30 prices and $25 groupons :) I do wish I had read some of the yelp reviews more thoroughly. I'm interested in know more about skin care and they had an awesome cabinet of sample products. That would have been cool to hear about! read more

I had my first lactic peel ever with Amanda this past Sunday, and ended up with a bad reaction (my skin was a lot more sensitive than I thought). Amanda was very thorough in guiding me through the aftercare, and sent me home with instructions and samples to tame my skin. I had a moment of panic when the following day, I woke up to brown patchy spots! I called in and spoke to Helene, who kindly invited me for a follow up consultation earlier this evening. I've never met someone who is so kind and generous!! She took great care and found a way to remedy the solution, promising that we would get to where my skin should be. Needless to say, I will certainly be returning and would recommend both Amanda and Helene to anyone who is looking to take their skin care seriously! P.S. She was very knowledgeable and so very delicate. I barely felt anything. I usually become super sensitive and red after a waxing treatment. I absolutely love this place! To start off, it just looks so simple and sweet from the outside and inside too. When you step in, be prepared to listen to some cool French music! I've heard both French pop and French instrumental. They make it easy - You can schedule everything online - you can even pick who you will be working with! Their customer service is amazing! I just love this place!! I used to work down the street and would go often for brow waxes and facials. Helene literally saved my skin a couple years ago while I was suddenly dealing with cystic acne, and I haven't had a problem since! My office moved last year and I hadn't been back until today, and it's still as awesome as ever. I had my brows threaded for the first time (Phaysone is SO good- it's gentle, quick, and she shaped my brows perfectly), and then got a spray tan by Alison, another first. I was a little nervous about it, but she made me feel so comfortable and did a great job. A few hours later the tan is getting a bit darker and is literally perfect- no streaks or uneven areas.
