Our Italian uncles, kids, hubby and I came for dinner and drinks. Celebrated getting keys to a new Alfa Romeo. My little pasta loving boy's pasta took so long to come out, all of us had finished eating. Despite asking where the little guy's food was a couple of times, there was no apology given when the food was finally delivered. If this was the world's most authentic bowl of noodles -- like the delay was making fresh pasta or something -- he would have been thrilled and gobbled it down. But this was the hottest and most overcooked gruel. You can see in the picture the congealed situation. My pasta loving boy didn't want it. He was starving and didn't eat it. Not tasty. We were in the mood to celebrate. Disappointing!

    Fish tempura tacos

We had a dinner with our adult daughter. We ordered the toast, tuna for appetizers. We ordered hamburger, tempura tacos, and the fish and chips. The bread for the toast was super fresh however the butter is served cold. Wish that would have been served soft enough to spread. The toast was hot. Tuna was good. Tempura tacos were good but street tacos small. The fish and chips were a substantial size and was very tasty and fresh. My husband's hamburger was ordered with spicy mayo. He said it was ok. The biggest complaint is the host sat a party with three adults and four children (under the age of 5) and a dog directly behind us in the center of the restaurant. The kids were out of control loud and hitting the back of the booth while we tried to finish our dinner. What sense did it make to have a dinner with these kids sitting directly behind us. The restaurant was empty and there was no reason to sit them directly behind us at an empty restaurant.

Racist. Typical white man who feels empowered by yelling at woman

wn the street from my place so convenient and the guy who stands up at the front desk is so sweet and accommodating. Yet tonight was different I finally had gotten at the house I asked for a drink. He seemed fine. Said he could make anything less sweet. I said perfect. He comes back. I had turned off my bank card because one of my students was using it at the time and I forgot to turn it back on then he laughs at me, makes a joke and says I'm broke and I can't pay for my drink. Starts yelling to where the whole bar heads after I told him I was paying cash. Idk if he is racist towards me considering there was only 2 colored people. In there. I'd never go back again. To have those greasy hands make my drink. Take a shower man.Hygiene Man.. treat a lady like a lady... straight up acting like he's going to fight me

Truly delicious Cheddar Biscuits at Beach + Brew in Venice

Like my desire to discover this place sooner, my review is also a bit delayed. But hey...better late than never, right? I dined at Beach & Brew with friends and family after the Bills vs. Rams game in Los Angeles about two months ago. It was recommended by someone in our group who lived nearby with her boyfriend. Beach & Brew operates with a wristband system for self-serve beer and wine, but they also have a solid food menu. The wristband setup felt a little unusual, and to be honest, the ordering process was a bit confusing. We had to provide a credit card upfront, and with such a large group, things got tricky when sorting out the orders. Fortunately, our server Jin Y. was incredibly patient and accommodating, doing her best to manage our lively (and already somewhat intoxicated) crowd. At the recommendation of one of my dining companions, I ordered the cheddar biscuits and I'm so glad I did! They were fantastic. I also got the spicy tuna roll, which was a decent portion and hit the spot. My friend had the burger and seemed pleased with it and the rest of our table ordered a mix of dishes, all of which were well received. Despite the initial confusion with the ordering process, everyone agreed that the food was worth it. If I remember, I'll definitely be back. The food was great, and as much as I enjoyed the tuna roll, I'm looking forward to trying more from the menu next time!

If you're coming to Venice for happy hour, that has a spacious seating area and open window seating as well if you want to be away from the crowd and enjoy your friends/family or date, this is your spot! My fiancé and I went here for the first time and we will definitely be coming back! The appetizers and happy hour bites are packed with flavor, and we will definitely be back for some of the bigger dishes as well. The drinks were also great and the menu caters to everyone from beer and wine drinkers to people who want a mixed drink. I also do appreciate being able to pour your own drinks on tap for beer, wine and some seltzers! Gong also deserves a huge shoutout because his service was so quick, and very helpful when we asked questions. He deserves a lot of credit for his hard work and we will for sure be back more because of it included with everything else amazing about this spot!

The Happy Hour and the bartender are Carpaccio and crispy tuna both $8 and spicy margarita for $10 - all high quality, very impressive for a spot I stumbled onto near the hotel- dinner and fab cocktail for under $30- I'll be here all week

At first you walk in and you think it might be a sports bar, with the basketball game on the projector and large TV's. I wasn't interested in the game, but was intrigued by the beer wall. You get a wristband and get to try as many beers and wines as you'd like, paying by the ounce (fair pricing). Next we ordered food and I have NEVER had such a yummy jalapeño popper - it was filled with spicy tuna with the cream cheese filling. Then live music started and the ambience changed, with a delightful calmer and laid back atmosphere. Will definitely be returning for the vibes and delicious food!

Leslie (I think her name is, gothic looking girl) ,Kieth, and G (gitano) are all favorites on the block. Leslie definitely makes a great espresso martini with fresh espresso and she's very friendly . Food is decent as well.

Came here for the first time and probably the last time due to an issue with other patrons. The table behind us was roughly 4 females and 4 males and a frenchie. The dog was well mannered. Unfortunately the dogs parents didn't think to take the dog out to handle its business so after sitting through an entire Laker game the dog took a dump right where we were all sitting. The stench that followed was disgusting. Now let me preface that I'm a dog mom and love to take my dog out to places. But I also take him out hourly to handle his business. The owners of the dogs didn't apologize and the restaurant didn't either after we said something. Disappointed because I'd have made this a regular spot but not making your guests responsible is a No for me. And let me say this was all in the main dining. Not outside.

Came here on Thursday night for date night, specifically for the experience of pouring our own beers and it was so much fun! They give you an armband to wear, and then you can sample/drink to your heart's content. It was a really fun experience and we enjoyed having so many options to try! The food was also great - we loved the fresh chips and guac, as well as the wings. I'd 100% get the chips and guac again, but the portions for the wings was just a smidge smaller than we would've ideally liked. I think they have a weekday happy hour as well, so definitely worth checking it out!

The staff are dressed in matching white t-shirts and pants, and the shirts say "All-Day Cafe." However, we walked in a little after 3:00 PM and found out we couldn't order smoothies (which end at 3:00) or breakfast items (which end much earlier at 11:00). For an "all-day cafe," that felt like a bit of a misrepresentation. Since it was very, very hot outside, I was disappointed that they were serving lukewarm water. Unfortunately, there was no vegan pizza on the menu, but our first waiter was very, very nice and friendly, and he had the kitchen accommodate us by omitting the cheese, substituting olive oil for chili oil, and adding spinach. The pizza turned out to be very thin, but yummy, and my party also enjoyed the ceviche. I had an iced coconut coffee that was absolutely delicious. After our first waiter ended his shift, our second waiter, Mike H., took over the table and never checked on us not even one single time after someone dropped off the food. When a small issue came up with one of the plates, he was just so nonchalant and dismissive, and Mike didn't add to the ambiance of the place at all. Fortunately, I believe it was a manager who then stepped in with a smile and addressed the issue, which was really nice. Aside from that unfortunate service experience, the food and drinks were tasty, but the misleading menu hours, lukewarm water on a hot day, and inattentive waiter definitely left room for improvement.

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

First let me say that Nahum, who helped us was excellent. The absolute perfect balance of checking on you but not overdoing it. If it weren't for Nahum, morning sun, and the breeze, I think we would have sent back our plates and left. Really. We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. And my $25 sandwich which came with a tiny side of pickled veggies was indeed very good. I come back to the general indifference of the staff because it feels somewhat dated and unnecessary in this day and age. Perhaps it's easier on the team not to respond to my thank yous or words of appreciation. Then again, perhaps they're simply not necessary. Why bother to say thanks when thank yous are not acknowledged? Like, at all. It harkens back to a day when being treated shabbily by a restaurant was a sign of a restaurant's elite-ness. But as of now I feel I've outgrown that grudging respect for perceived snottiness in my dining out choices. Even if Gjelina hasn't.
