Brunch here with my wife and a few friends for the 1st time. Wife and I came early for our reservation and decided to grab some coffee and pastry while we wait for our friends. They have a cool hidden back garden to hang out at with umbrellas and benches. I was recommended the Spanish latte and bombolini. My wife had a matcha and banana bread. We found our new go to coffee stop and you can't beat fresh baked goods. Once everyone arrived we checked in and seated quickly. The server had a great attitude and recommended for me the mushroom pasta. It was packed with mushrooms and the was chicken was tender. We had some Parker house rolls for the table. Superba is a great bustling local eatery and coffee spot in the Venice area that I finally got an opportunity to try this location on the Westside. We didn't have a reservation during Sunday brunch, but fortunately, we only had to wait 10 minutes while enjoying a chai latte before a table opened up. Their claim to fame is that they bake their own breads and sweets. If you looking for a sugar rush, their cinnamon sticky bun was the bomb. I would definitely share the sticky bun or your blood sugar will go through the roof. Needless to say, the cream cheese frosting with orange zest was so good. I ordered the popular crispy chicken sandwich for lunch where the chicken breast was very crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. The sandwich was also served with a slaw and jalapeno aioli. The french fries was an addition to the entire sandwich plate which made it a bit pricey. Service was good. Parking was limited in their small parking lot out front with street parking as another option. The Shrimp Avocado salad was good. My friend enjoyed the salmon. The food is always pretty good and the prices are on par for the area. It's a big open warehouse style dining room. They open the big glass doors for a lot of fresh air. It can get a little chilly when it's windy so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily. There's a tiny parking lot out front. Otherwise it's street parking. The service was okay. It was efficient, but definitely not overly friendly. It's a good place for a casual work meeting. read more

I must say that I love this place so much after all these years. I had a new added salad called "chicken chopped"... it was perfect. I love how chopped it was. I love the chunks of chicken and all the different stuff inside it. It was wonderful and again I may have that next time as well. I love that they have new items on the menu and the lovely wait staffed woman was so amazing. She had the best vibe and we so appreciated her ... I felt very unwelcome there. I guess being brown is a bad thing. The food was decent at least, but I will never go back they didn't even know if the food I ordered was for me or not I asked for some more bread and they completely ignored me and helped the table next to me instead. We ordered the arancini as an app and then shared the Korean fried chicken for two. It came with bone-in chicken and tenders, along with toast. My visit here a couple weeks ago started off lukewarm to put it nicely. I was sat quickly by the hostess but proceeded to wait 10 minutes or so to even be acknowledged or brought water by the waitress. It wasn't very busy so I was getting pretty annoyed and I had decided to silently walk away and go eat at a nearby spot when the waitress finally came to my table. There was nothing that caught my eye within walking distance so I decided to stay because I have been coming since 2021 and the food is really good here. I ordered the Shrimp and Avocado Salad for the first time as well as the Rigatoni Bolognese and the red beet juice. As soon as the salad came, the beautiful fragrance of fresh white Vinaigrette (or something similar) swept me away. The salad was beautiful, plump, citrusy, light, and filling all at once; I was so pleasantly surprised. Visually, it was beautiful and stole the show. The rigatoni bolognese paled in comparison. It could have been served much hotter and with more meat sauce and flavor was lacking. The big clunky rigatoni pieces just overpowered what should have been a hearty savory meat sauce. I ended up not finishing the bolognese but completely cleared the salad. The beet juice was tart and delicious. The service experience was redeemed by the young lady who bussed my table. She was petite, fair haired and extremely warm and polite as she cleared my table. As I was walking away she said "thank you, goodbye," which really made a difference as I had initially felt ignored and felt my waitress was pretty cold towards me. Food here has soul, so I hope the staff can also bring forth some more heart and soul in their hospitality regardless of who they are serving. read more

Met my nephew for brunch in Venice Beach over Fourth of July weekend. So lucky to get the last parking space in front. He wasn't quite as lucky but managed to find a spot just a few blocks away. Love the outside bench seating. So nice to enjoy a sunny SoCal Saturday. I got a grain bowl. Sprouted brown rice, baby kale, avocados, almonds and an eight minute egg. I used to like Superba but I don't much anymore. The menu options there have greatly diminished: they used to be many and varied. Staff turns over from one week to the next. That didn't used to be so. You knew the staff and they knew you but now the faces are rarely the same. Before there was a variety of breads for purchase. Sourdough is all that there is now. I loved seeing the bakery options and the menu had a lot of options for us to choose from. The pasta either was microwaved or wasn't cooked evenly as it was cold around the rim, hot in the middle. The noodle was super cold, and a bit undercooked. Was so not to my liking , I had to make it a little uncomfortable and send it back in front of everyone. I replaced this with the burger and fries . It was way, way better. This is actually the worst service that I've experienced since I moved to LA a year and a half ago. This place unfortunately fulfilled every negative stereotype about LA. We came on a Friday morning and it was not busy at all. I've never had a hostess that somehow managed to say zero words to us through the whole interaction. We had to initiate the hello, how large our party was and our inside or outside. She just stared down at us and gave us very snide looks the whole time-- she was completely bizarre to us for no reason. This wasn't a big deal to me, but we asked for the patio and she brought us out to large patio that was pretty much empty and she sat us right next to one of the only other tables that was out there making it quite as tight squeeze. After a few minutes, the other table actually got up and moved to a different table because we were so close to one another. It was uncomfortable. So I honestly don't know what the hostess job is cause she's not nice and the seating choices make no sense. Once we were sat we only saw our server about twice for the entire hour and a half that we were there. He never came to check on how the food was and left us sitting there for 30 minutes without checking on us before he brought the bill-- my boyfriend finally had to go in and find someone. Also when they first brought our water glasses out the 1st cup of water tasted so strange like it was flat soda, water with a strange mineral / copper taste rather than just regular water. The food was fine, but the icing on the cake is that when I asked for a box, some other random server insisted that they box it for me. I ordered the sourdough bread with jam and butter, and of course they didn't even put the jam and butter into my box which is like half of the reason why I would order that in the first place. I will never be coming back here, the staff vibes are horrible and the food is just fine. read more

Love having a Superba on the West side! This location is a perfect brunch spot with lots of seating, fresh air flow because of open door format, and sunny vibes! If you learn anything from this review, PLEASE know you NEED to get the avocado toast. Dare I say it is the BEST in all of Los Angeles?!! Bread is so fresh and fluffy, there is a generous serving of avocado, and the toppings are so tasty! Get it, you won't regret it! What I love most about Superba is that you can tell all of their ingredients are fresh and plates are made to order! Servers sometimes get busy running all the food, bakery items, and cafe drinks, so I would say service takes a bit but the team is willing to help you anytime! The espresso martini was more of a mocha and although I specified that it not be sweet it was very sweet ... very delicious but not quite what I hoped for. The service is rarely perfect. I'm not sure if they're under staffed ways or what but unfortunately my empty martini glass sat next to my plate while I ate for 25 minutes. They only cleared it at the very end. The waiters were nice but not attentive. Overall great coffee and good food. I recommend the egg dishes over the lunch personally. read more

Visited Superba on a holiday weekend and it was crowded, but we were able to be seated immediately. The space is HUGE and has both indoor and outdoor tables. I wonder if on weekdays it fills up with people working remotely because the space is so large and there are many tables for 2. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito ($17) and Roasted Turkey Dip ($21). The breakfast burrito was delicious, and the avocado crema and hot sauce sides complimented it perfectly! They were so tasty, we even took the rest home. My friend mentioned it might be one of her favorite breakfast burritos in LA. With the turkey sandwich, I ordered no cheese and substituted the homemade chips for crispy breakfast potatoes. Our waitress was fantastic and had the cheese removed off the potatoes as well for me. The portion of avocado they put on the sandwich was insane (in a good way)! When the check came, we noticed a 3% "Happy and Healthy" charge. I am not a fan of this, I'd rather they just increase the food prices by 3%. The bathrooms were very nice! read more

We had the charred broccolini, fried Brussels sprouts, and the rigatoni bolognese and all were amazing! I sat at the bar. The beers on tap were out of order. So I ordered a 16oz can of Chronic Ale amber ale from Pizza Port Brewing Co. based in San Diego. It was good.
