I've been to beach bowl a handful of times, but Friday was the first time for a private party work event. Alaya made sure our whole event went as smoothly as possible. She explained the event timeline clearly and was very speedy and attentive. We never had empty drinks or bellies lol! The music was pumping & the alley was so fun with all the lights and colors. Wasn't sure what the vibe would be during the daytime, but it was just as fun as at night. The lanes and computers worked smoothly and we had no technical issues. The wait was like an hour so we went upstairs to the rooftop bar ordered some tacos. We had the fish tacos and carne asada, which were so good just wish my chips come with salsa, not diced onions and tomatoes. I also had the Texas lemonade which came in like a miniature pitcher and it was so good. I couldn't even taste the three alcohols they put in there. The bowling experience was completely fun. They brought the shoes to us and I like the different options. You have to choose a bowl. I played the Angry Birds version of bowling, which was so much fun. read more

Went to Beach Bowl for the first time in probably 15 years. The remodel is so nice! There's a fancy VIP area upstairs with a few bowling lanes. Food and drink service at our lane was very attentive. Nachos were surprisingly good! Also I got a mini pitcher of the "Cherry Coke" cocktail. It's really a good value for $12. There's about 2 drinks worth in the pitcher. Plenty of balls available even though it was fairly busy. A fun time was had! PS: You don't have to be bowling to eat or drink. They have a whole restaurant section with tables and a bar. read more

I'll start by saying Beach Bowl is adorable! The place is immaculately kept and so aesthetically pleasing. We went when they first opened up and it was virtually empty so that was nice. I am just floored at what the price is for 1 hour of bowling. I spent almost $60 for 2 people! 1 hour. And it's actually timed so you feel really rushed.We didn't even get snacks or eat. Went for brunch yesterday to watch the Jaguars game in London. While they advertised specials for the game, they were extremely under staffed. There was no table service, and everything had to be ordered at the bar where it could take up to 15 min to put in your order. Once I ordered my food, it took over an hour for it to come out and I think it only came because we asked about it. The food itself was actually pretty good, and they did comp it for the long wait. Overall, I don't think I would come here for a busy event but maybe would go for a drink since the outdoor patio was nice. read more

We went there for my birthday. We had 9 people ages 3-89. We requested 2 of the upstairs lanes. We were there when they opened so service was a bit slow. We ordered a wide variety of appetizers. We really enjoyed the loaded tots, nachos, flatbread and pretzels. As it was so early no one had alcohol. Everything was delicious. After it got started the service was good. Drinks- Good selection, ok deals/Happy Hour- limited to beer and vodka. Normal drinks ranged from. $10-15 each. Light on alcohol. A few nonalcoholic options around $6. Food- Appetizers ordered: Fried pickles (whole spears and actually quite good and not greasy), nachos (not a lot of toppings- meat or otherwise, would pass), and Buffalo chicken wontons (think grocery freezer grade). Overall ok. Ordered one chicken tender meal and it came with 4 super large tenders- which the kids liked. Bowling- no issues, ran smoothly, can pay by hour or rounds with lane cost as well. Overall good- somewhat more expensive than traditional (no $5 pitchers here). Also offer a ln arcade section and full restaurant. Would go back, more for the bowling than drinks. read more

TLDR: If you have an out‑of‑state ID and look young, you might face refusal of service even when you're well over the drinking age by almost a decade I have been a customer here for years and have recommended this place to many friends and coworkers. That's why the interaction I experienced was so surprising and disappointing. I even brought someone who'd never been there before (who also drove an hour just to experience Beach Bowl because I recommended it) and we ended up leaving early because of how the situation was handled by management. A manager, named Liz, refused to serve me because she believed my Tennessee ID was fake. During the interaction, she mentioned she's from Memphis and seemed to use that as justification for claiming my ID wasn't real. She asked where in Tennessee I'm from, and when I told her, she seemed unfamiliar with the location. If being from the same state is now the standard for verification, I'd love to know so I can update all my future identification documents accordingly. Will she tell me I am not a US citizen next time because she was also born in America? Or does she have a 615 area code as well, so any number she doesn't recognize must automatically be fake? I completely understand and respect the need for staff to carefully verify IDs. However, the way this situation was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational. After already claiming it was not real, she bent my ID in front of me as if demonstrating it was fake. I have used this government issued ID everywhere without issue, including the airport. With the Real ID Act taking effect last year, I would have thought verification standards would be better by now. Instead, it seems we're still relying on bending IDs and personal experience living in a state as the verification method. Since there was concern about its validity, I even offered for her to call the police to verify it. She declined and said they didn't have to serve me. While businesses absolutely have the right to refuse service, refusing to verify the ID after making such a claim felt more like a power trip than a genuine concern. I tried to let it go but it was such an uncomfortable experience that I felt it was best to leave mid bowling because of the interaction. What made the situation even stranger was that after refusing service and walking away, she clearly continued to watch me from a distance. On our way out, I went to the front desk to ask another employee for the manager's name because I no longer felt comfortable dealing with her. She quickly came over to interrupt the conversation. I'm in my late 20s and have used my ID everywhere without issue, so I'll take it as a compliment if anything. I'm honestly impressed that I've never been vetted so thoroughly for being well above the legal age before while enjoying an evening out after a long day at work. I don't think Mondays are that common for underage people to go out, but maybe I am behind with the times. When I asked why I have never had an issue being served here before tonight, she could not even give a legitimate reason and simply implied that it depends on which employee is on shift. It's shocking that anyone else has been okay serving me but only the manager felt the ID was questionable. I was served upstairs without an issue and when we wanted to continue to enjoy our night bowling downstairs, I somehow magically lost all credibility of being old enough to drink. Being well above the legal age and yet being questioned like my ID could only be real if the manager personally knew my hometown was an unforgettable experience and not in a good way. Being from the Volunteer State, I sincerely hope your manager volunteers some time to learn the basics of proper ID verification. I'm sharing this because I've been a customer here for years and hope situations like this can be handled more professionally in the future especially when dealing with out‑of‑state IDs. read more

Fun atmosphere for families. We have little ones who love to run around and play in the arcade area. Food wise, I really like the quesadilla and the chicken bacon wrap. The flatbreads are yummy and easy to share. Our kids can typically share a kids meal- decent portion sizes. I loved beach bowl before the remodel and was very impressed with the revamp. Great atmosphere, delicious food and drinks with a wide variety of options and the staff were awesome. I don't usually give 3 stars to anew establishments but.. Let's start with the positive. Beach Bowl is beautiful. There is no stone left unturned. It is a fun place Now let's start with opening the door. Upon my entry there were 2 young employees at the door( I later understood they were the bowling lane assigners) however not busy they were unengaged and absolutely no enthusiasm. I turned left to meet my friend at the downstairs bar. It is a dining room with a bar. I ordered a drink and given a menu. My friend had arrived earlier and was sipping something cold with a straw. A cc was taken to hold my tab but not my friends. After catching up we pondered the menu. Downstairs the choices minimal. We spoke about having another drink upstairs and were reminded twice that our table must be closed before going upstairs. We ordered at the same time my food served well before my friend. He was served only after flagging the food runner. There are so many employees but none seem to have a sense of urgency or enthusiasm or a purpose.The food runner could not read a ticket and know location assignments thus the food traveled for a while. The food was nothing great and definitely not amazing. We paid our tab as instructed and went upstairs to experience the deck. The menu at the upstairs bar has many more choices than downstairs. If we would have known we would have eaten upstairs We ordered a drink and paid the bartender who then disappeared. We got ready to leave and another bartender who asked us twice if we were sure we paid. Yes we paid!! In summary: I will go back in hopes that the staff becomes better trained, learns how to smile and represents and educates the customers to amenities available. Wanted to try the restaurant on family night so the teens could have some fun in the arcade while we watched the Florida basketball game on the big screen! Our server was so very nice but she seemed overwhelmed and not confident with the food or drink menu. We started off with the pretzel grazing board and calamari, the pretzel was delicious and the accompaniments of cheese, sausage and pickles were great. The calamari was good, there was a considerable amount of fried peppers in the order so be careful if you don't like spice. The sweet chili dipping sauce was a good touch! The sodas came out quickly but the bar drinks took a while, I wasn't overly impressed and next time I'll have water or a beer from the tap. Our party of 4 ordered a bunch to share so we'll start with the highlights....the carnitas tacos and fries were a hit! We will definitely go back for those two menu items. The wings were a skip.....we tried the mango habanero & the garlic Parmesan and we didn't enjoy either. The wings were lacking flavor, they came out room temperature and the meat was stringy. Definitely needed more sauce and a couple of extra minutes in the fryer. The ceasar salad was ok, bland dressing, not worth the $14 especially without any protein. The ladies room on the 1st floor near the arcade was disgusting! The doors didn't lock, there was no toilet paper and there was urine all over the seats. I am floored by the scam of this place is. My boyfriend and I came here a while ago and were overcharged, he came back and it didn't get worked out when he tried to amend the price that we were double charged for and it just didn't work out. So he was like OK it's a loss. My friends threw me a birthday party there the other day. an hour goes by quickly. I don't even know what the price was that time but then I go up to the bald old man at the front and I say we are on lanes 9 and 10 how much would it be for another hour of bowling and he said $40 and I said OK then I come to find out it's $80 and he said after, yeah for each lane, I would never have accepted it if it was $80 for another hour I was very clear that we had two lanes and he knew that I did because he said oh I have a party and I can give you another hour. We have been waiting a long time for this place to reopen and tried it today when our family visited. Here are the details: We opted for a VIP lane and I would recommend that, but you will have to wait. We were told 40 minutes but it was over an hour. That being said it was a cool place. There are 4 VIP lanes there with multiple couches, tables, etc. The server was great but it was hot in there. I don't know how many regular lanes there are, but it seems like you will wait for all of them. Prior to our lane being available, we had lunch on the roof top bar area. Racheal waited on us and did a great job. However the food is not good. The seafood is all farm raised, which is disgraceful for this area. We started with a pretzel and the chicken wontons. I don't eat meat so I cannot say anything about the wontons, but they got an OK vote from the others. The pretzel was burnt so we give it OK rating too. Lunch items were several caprese flatbread, chicken tenders and a fish sandwich. The food was not good. My sister's chicken tenders came out 15 minutes after the other dishes. We barely ate half of our food as it was so bad. However, I will say, it is a fun spot for bowling. It's clean and nice. Though very unorganized. I would recommend bowling and drinks there but eat somewhere else! read more

We came for bowling and dinner. With a 45 minute wait for a lane, it worked out beautifully. I opted for the bacon jam smash burger and was extremely happy with the decision. The onions provided a perfect pop of sweetness to compliment the savory burger and bacon. The brioche bun was soft and a good call for their chef. My wife went with the bacon chicken wrap and loved it. She said it was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and made sure our glasses never ran empty. TLDR: food was mediocre, the wait was horrible, and the environment was loud. We were told that it would be 2 and a half hours of a wait, so we asked to be put on the list. After waiting 2 hours for a spot by sitting in the uncomfortable booths while music was blasting in our ears, we finally realized something was up. The place was clearing out, but we hadn't been called. When we came back to the front, they made it clear that they forgot to put our name in the computer system. It then took another 20 minutes for us to go into a lane, even though we saw totally cleared lanes. Once we went into our lane we noticed that the lane next to us was free for the entire time that we were there! As we were leaving, the staff finally got someone situated at the lane next to us, even though they told us that they had to wait for 90+ minutes (even though it was an open lane and they take no reservations!) in other words, they were way too slow overturning the lanes and the bowling wasn't even that great. Finally, the staff was clearly more in it for the tips (why am I tipping for you to have someone bring me a tablet to pay after I bowl rather than just paying at the counter?) than anything else. When we asked for water only, the waitress looked put out and took about one and a half full bowling games to come back and ask us if we wanted anything (sans water). read more

We had all this food for 2 people and could not eat it all. Definitely will go back and try some new dishes. I went with a friend to go get in line to reserve some lanes at 4 PM in anticipation that we would be able to bowl by six when the rest of our group arrived. We were told it was a 4+ hour wait, and probably less for the VIP lanes. While we were waiting, we went upstairs to the bar and ordered wine (they were out of two of the ones we asked for) and a pretzel, which took 40 minutes to get. Meanwhile, there were not many people in that area so I know they weren't very busy. After the rest of our group arrived, we decided to have dinner downstairs. We waited about 10 minutes for anybody to even approach the table. I ended up catching somebody's eye and at that point then they came over to help us. They were out of two of the food items we requested, which was ridiculous for a Saturday. Service was fine after that, but I don't think I'll be back. It wasn't worth it for me. This review is not for a bowling alley. I wish there were more lanes but I should be happy there are any lanes at the beach today. Recently the facility was very nicely redone just not bowling centric. As expected, they are still working out some kinks but were well staffed and the service was pretty good considering how jam packed the place was. Nice second floor, open air bar, lounge area and stage for live music. There is a separate restaurant with table seating and a bar (that I wish was more lanes) on the ground level. I had the chicken bacon wrap which I'll likely order again with an extra side of ranch. Prices are not outrageous but I wish they had a $4 pbr. Yelp fam in Jax- my husband and I came to the new beach bowl with some friends tonight and... the food is good?! We ate dinner before we came but after waiting 2.5 hours to bowl, we ordered some late night snacks and they were so yummy! We got the chicken bacon wrap, calamari and carne asada fries and devoured it all. Prices were also really reasonable. Drinks were great, service was actually really good and it was super fun! I have tried to reach out to the management left messages however there is no email. This is petty and could have been taken care of without a blow up. I had a great server. I had asked for a drink and it was not exactly like I asked , I did not complain as I thought oh well I will drink it. I asked for a single tall , however when I received my bill I was charged for a double. I simply asked to be charged for what I received. The Bar manager came over, I tried to explain to him , he told me I should have sent it back. I told him that I simply drank it as I it was too weak to be a double. He told me that if I didn't pay for it he was going to take it out of the servers check :( what he made the mistake. He was rude not only to me , after I spent close to 200.00 , "by the way I paid for the drink" When we went to leave he was talking down to the server in front of the entire bowling alley. I am in customer service, this could have easily handled, all I wanted was to be charged for what I got. I wasn't asking for anything more. So I decided to call the GM to discuss this as our server was just doing his job. It has been over a week, no phone call , no way to reach the GM. For all I know the Bar manager is the GM. If he is he has no business being a manager. I've been in there a few times, however the lack of response leads me to never going back, and anyone in the business knows, bad reviews speak loudly. This place has the potential to be one of the best entertainment for family and friends in the Jax beach area. For various reasons we experienced excessive waiting times for our food and every drink order we placed. I would like to charge the delays to it being relatively brand new so we will give it more time and patience before passing judgment in that regard.
