Stopped in with friends for a holiday cocktail and a pizza before an event close by. The bar was vacant upon arrival but quickly filled with other patrons seeking holiday cheer. We each choose different drinks off the holiday menu. We chatted and watched the bartender skillfully mixing our drinks. Our pizza arrived in no time and was delicious! Flask& Cannon has always been one of my favorite craft cocktail stops! Cheers!!

Co-located with V Pizza, this was a great place to stop for a cold one on a hot day in Jax Beach. The pizza looked good but just wanted a drink. Carol went with the Aperol Spritz and I chose the Aardwolf BPA. The bartenders were friendly and this looks like a good place to try later in the day for Happy Hour. The place a a nice feel to it - like a beach bar at the Jersey Shore?

I sure don't get to the beach very often cuz I didn't even know flask and V pizza were here. I'm so glad to stop in and do a meet up with some friends. Enjoyed the bartenders and service was good and they had a holiday spirited menu.. They had coquito, which made me very happy!

Can't go wrong with happy hour all week then happy hour that goes on ALL DAY on Sunday Funday! Sweet cocktail menu. Quite extensive. Awesome deals. And they have V pizza right next door and connected to order food! We came in a Sunday night so we had some delicious $8 painkiller cocktails and a Manhattan. We then ordered and devoured the delle Donne chicken pesto pizza with ricotta. Drinks were bomb. Pizza was also bomb. Great service. Lovely ambiance and location. Will be back the next time we're at the beach.

I can't believe I had never been to Flask N Cannon before! We got to try their drinks at the Yelp High Stakes Soirée and knew we had to check this place out! The bartender was wonderful and very attentive. I loved the tiki vibe at the bar. The Denzel Whale-ing-ton was very refreshing and I loved the fatness of the passionfruit. The flamed absinthe at the end was a nice touch!

Amazing cocktails & Delicious food! I dropped in on a Friday evening after work for a quick work week wind down with a GF and fellow elite. It was as busy as you can expect on a Friday night. Nearly all of the tables were full, but I quickly grabbed a table near the windows, perfect for people-watching. Our server quickly wiped down the table and took our orders. We both ordered the Don, which is a tequila-based cocktail, not too strong or too sweet. The perfect way to wet our palate before our food arrived. I ordered a 5 piece of cryin Hawaiian wings that remind me of a Caribbean jerk with a hint of sweetness. I also ordered a whole Carnivora pizza with leftovers for the next day in mind. Unfortunately, they did not sell the pizza stones at this location, which is the preferred method of reheating this wood-fired pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection, like lick your fingers good. Thank goodness they leave a roll of paper towels on the table. This was a great way to jump off the weekend and an amazing location for beach lovers!

Located on the West side of North 1st Street, is Flask & Cannon. It's a large place with plenty of table seating and seems to be best known locally for its innovative cocktails. For food, the main item seems to be pizza and varying bar foods. However, some seem unique like their Calabrian Chili and Cryin Hawaiian wings. And the fact that they have a very good Bolognese done with a San Marzano tomato sauce, makes it an OK place for lunch or nibblings. As it has no open-air bar or dining, and is not on the beachside of the street, it usually doesn't get overcrowded. But. As it has a lot of four to a table seat, even with a good crowd there is usually plenty of room to be comfortable. I didn't try any of their food but what I saw and smelled seemed good. I did have a couple of cocktails that were nicely made without any skimping on the booze.

Escaping the rain, during Springing the Blues Festival. Grabbing a drink to go with the weather - Dark & Stormy. Hehe I like the fact that we can eat (V's Pizza) and have a lovely adult beverage as we wait. Great place to meet, drink, and eat. Thanks!

We've been here twice now since my move to Jacksonville. We ate Vs Pizza both times (separate review for that) but the first time we just drank beer so I didn't want to review based in 1 visit and some beers. This time, we had the pizza again but we had some mixed drinks and it was far busier. During both visits our servers were attentive regardless of how many tables they had. We tried the hallowed out pineapple drink for 2. It tasted great, but you're definitely paying for the novelty. We knew what we were doing when we ordered it though, so that's on us, not the restaurant. My only (slight) negative is that I thought there was WAY too much ice in our Mai Tais. That's not enough to knock it down a full star though. I can live with too much ice in one drink. This is a really fun environment with a great (separate) pizza place to get food from. This could end up being oue Friday dinner & drinks spot.

The space is very clean and modern with a hint of boho chic that ties in perfectly with the beachy atmosphere. And I have to mention the playlist! The music is always so good and upbeat that it literally makes you want to get up and dance. It really adds to the overall experience and makes dinner here feel like a whole vibe. I mostly come here for dinner with my friends, and we always have the best time. We've never been disappointed! The service is consistently warm and welcoming. Tonight, our waiter, Tavage, was incredibly kind and patient with us while we were ordering. My absolute favorite item on the menu is the roasted oysters. I get them every time, and everyone who tries them ends up loving them! I honestly haven't found roasted oysters made quite like this anywhere else. The Mahi Mahi tacos and chicken tacos are also incredibly flavorful. And if you like a little heat, definitely go for the pork tacos! Overall, this is one of those places I can always count on for great food, good service, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a beach favorite of mine!

Some restaurants announce themselves…read more Others make you work a little to find them. RP's Fine Food & Dining in Jacksonville Beach is one of those places. It's easy to miss, tucked away next to the dispensary just before you get there. (And yes, the maps may tell you otherwise.) But sometimes the places that take a little searching are the ones worth remembering. I ordered the fried grit cakes--two generous, golden cakes--topped with shrimp and Tasso gravy. Eight perfectly cooked shrimp, which, if you know anything about eating seafood at the beach, is no small accomplishment. Shrimp can go from tender to rubber in the blink of an eye. These were just right. But the gravy... That was the star. Savory. Creamy. Deep with flavor. It didn't simply sit on top of the grit cakes; it brought the whole dish together, elevating every bite. And I was grateful for the spoon they served with it, because leaving even a drop of that gravy behind would have felt like a waste. There are meals you eat because you're hungry. And then there are meals you remember because, for a little while, everything on the plate just made sense. This was one of those meals. I'll definitely be back.

I wanted something simple, so I ordered blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs. Pancakes are one of those things I'm happy to leave to professionals because I'm terrible at making them myself. RP's delivered. The short stack had crisp edges, a tender middle, and pockets of warm, sweet blueberries throughout. Nothing complicated, just a very good pancake. My wife ordered the showstopper, two fried grit cakes topped with sautéed shrimp, Parmesan, and Tasso ham gravy. The spoon they provide is not decorative. You are going to need it. The gravy was deep and savory with just enough heat, with bits of Tasso ham mingling with perfectly cooked shrimp. The grit cakes brought a crisp exterior and creamy center. Get a little grit cake, some gravy, and a shrimp on the same spoon and you have one of those bites that makes you stop talking for a second. RP's feels like the kind of place beach locals know about and visitors eventually discover. My first visit was for brunch, but if lunch and dinner are this good, I suspect this won't be my last. A good neighborhood brunch spot is worth remembering. I'm glad RP's finally made it onto my list.

Another plus was that our server was very friendly and helpful, although he seemed to be having to cover for much of the rest of the staff. At a glance, the restaurant didn't seem understaffed, but they struggled to keep up even when multiple tables had emptied out. The bar and kitchen were struggling, too -- we had multiple issues with wrong items being served, and it took a surprisingly long time to get our food (even with giving a lot of grace for us being a party of 10). Dinner was 2.5 hours without dessert (with the exception of the small, complementary dessert they brought the birthday celebrant). The food was fine but nothing spectacular, and it felt overpriced. I ordered a cup of tomato bisque, which was decent, and a trio of sides for my main course: the Boursin orzo, Brussels sprouts, and pecan green beans. The orzo was pretty tasty, and the Brussels sprouts were quite nice with dried cherries mixed in. Both leaned a bit too salty but not terribly so. The green beans were a total miss: no flavor and arrived room temperature. The server ensured I wasn't charged for them. To drink, I ordered an ube piña colada (which was not strong but was tasty) and a glass of house white. My total for soup, two sides, one cocktail, and one glass of wine was nearly $80 with the 20% automatic large party gratuity included. I don't mind the tip inclusion, but I feel like I paid a hefty amount for food that didn't match the price tag. I'll also note that they have introduced a surcharge for paying by credit card. I really hope they get things sorted out; it sounded like a lot of new staff in place which hopefully means higher aspirations rather than high turnover. It's a beautiful spot.
