Our family really wanted to try this place because their coffee smelled amazing. However, as we walked in with our pup in our arms, one of the staff members told us that dogs are not allowed. It's understandable how establishments would have this rule but it was the manner we were told. I wouldn't say my drink was overly complicated and I asked questions to make sure they had what I was looking for but the barista sighed and complained about having to keep "starting over" after I would order. If you're system doesn't work effectively, or if we are t supposed to customize our order then you should say that. Coffee is not great but convenient. After drinking most of my coffee, I felt a rattle near the bottom. I thought to myself, that's cool they put a coffee bean at the bottom of the cup! To my surprise, it was a plastic lid of some sort. This coffee was purchased 3/28/19 at around 8:30 am. The plastic thing said la marzocco, which a Google search shows as an expresso machine. The location is right off Broadway near the Prom, which is ideal if you need some caffeine while walking near the beach. They offer a unique assortment of pastries and snacks. I ordered an Americano with macadamia nut flavoring; which, I would recommend avoiding adding this specific flavor to the americano. If I were to judge the coffee alone, based on the americano, I would leave a 3 star review since it tasted watered down. But, the chai lattes tasted like plain milk, had to wait in a second line to microwave/ toast your own bagels and pastries. Such a cute coffee shop! The first thing I noticed when entering was how beautiful it was decorated. It's a very cute spot next to the beach. While waiting in line I saw the arrangement of the various teas they offer. The Yerba Mate and "Warm Hugs" struck out to me the most. I tried the Warm Hugs tea and it was pretty bland for the 16oz cups. Teas are $3.00 any size. I asked if they used the same amount of tea for every size and they said yes. That is why if you were to order a 16 or 20 oz the tea would not be flavorful and strong enough. It tasted like water with a hint of tea. It was still pretty good. I also ordered a 16oz double American. The coffee was DELICIOUS. I do agree with other reviews that their coffee is on the weaker side. If you like your coffee to taste like COFFEE, I would recommend asking for another shot (or 2). They also have freshly squeezed orange juice! I loved how they used fresh juice unlike most coffee shops. Definitely recommend this place for a delicious cup of coffee (or orange juice!!). read more

We were quite happy with our stop in here. It's located on the prom so it's an easy walk from hotels. We enjoyed a very quiet morning, people watching and sipping on almond milk beverages. Good but not great... I am sure I am bias to coffee shops when you are paying almost 5 bucks a drink. It is like the new '12 dollar burger' that every place seems to make the normal price point. When I think 'this coffee is worth 5 bucks' I think... Beans, Roast, Grind, and quality of the blended ingredients. This place is very similar to a Dutch bros/star bucks/ drive through quality. This will make your day better, but wont wow you. I am also not a big sugar coffee guy, so that when these places are accustomed to bringing up the flavor with 60 grams of sugar, I get it... Just not for me, and I know I go to yelp to check for coffee shops in new areas that are worth the extra buck. Their store is beautiful and located in a great spot for coast tourism. I will have no complaints on anything, but the coffee it self was just underwhelming. Staff was nice, store was lovely, location was spot on. If you are part of the 'Dutch Army' then you'll dig it. If you like a nice 8oz cup of whole milk and espresso pulled to perfection where it tastes like it is filled with life essence? Might not be the spot you hoped for. read more

Great espresso machine but they seem to lack training on how to use it. The barista had the machine dialed in all wonky - pulling a very overexposed shot and wasting half of each as she went. She told me she knew how to make a cortado (to their credit - it's a basic espresso drink but not on their menu) but what she gave me was a double shot of espresso - which tasted burnt. Anyone can make a sugary sweet coffee drink but simple minimalist espresso drinks are where you can see (& taste) the difference between a good coffee shop and just an OK one. This is probably a great place for sweet speciality drinks but if you're a minimalist like me, pass. read more

Come third morning, not sure what the deal was with one of the "baristas", but she was awful and so was her "latte". I ordered a irish cream latte and what i got was not even coffee. It tasted like watered down brew with some extra water and dirt. I have a pretty simple drink to make. I get an almond milk latte with four shots of espresso in a 12 ounce cup. I asked them if they had thermometer for checking the temperature and they said they did. So it should've been very simple. My drink came back barely above lukewarm, and tasting like coffee flavored milk. They were not busy, there was barely anybody else in there, and it took them at least five minutes to even acknowledge my presence. By the time I got my coffee I just wanted to get out of there, so I didn't ask them to remake it. I won't be going back. read more

Cute little shop and the employees were very nice, but the coffee is terrrrrrible. A baseline for how good a coffee shop is, is their standard doppio. My wife and I each got one and it was so incredibly bitter that I could barely choke it down; the carbonated water was a requirement to get the taste out of our mouths. I am not joking when I say that Starbucks has better coffee. I feel bad because everyone was really sweet and this shop is super cute, but I probably wouldn't return for just standard coffee drinks. Your mileage may vary; perhaps their mochas and lattes are a lot better, but since I avoid sugar I probably won't try them. read more

We have frequented Seaside for the last 13 years and this coffee shop (since it opened) has been my go-to for White Mochas! They use the Ghirardelli's white chocolate powder which is, in my opinion, the best. I will say however, they don't have 1% or 2% milk, so I've always gotten (and been offered) a mix of whole and skim, since I don't prefer either extreme. The last time I was in and tried to order this way, the gal taking my order bluntly said, "we can't mix milk like that". I politely stated my surprise and that I'd gotten it many times before. Her response: "well I'm the manager and we don't allow that-we're not supposed to mix milk". Although I understand this might be a rule, I've never been declined it by this establishment before, and her blunt rudeness was surprising. Hence the 3 stars instead of what would've been 4. After all, the customer is always right, and you should've been consistent all along if this is the case, or offer a 1% or 2% milk option. Frankly, we made the longer walk to Seaside Coffee Roasters more often this trip. read more

Three baristas working. Did not appear to be understaffed. The line moved efficiently. One of the baristas was extremely rude so my family decided to leave. As we were leaving, I said to the worker, "this is ridiculous." A man came storming out of the business shouting at me. I tried to assure him that I wasn't speaking to him but rather the worker. He then yelled something about me not being able to be patient enough to wait in line. My husband replied to him that us leaving had nothing to do with waiting in line. The man preceded to continue to pick a fight. I asked him why he felt the need to interject when clearly my comment was not directed at him. He screamed, "I'm the owner. I will always stand up for my staff." Well, David Posalski, you've a rude staff member. I have never before seen a store/restaurant owner pick a fight with a disgruntled customer the way he picked a fight with me (we did not buy anything that day but we have been customers many times in the past). He even tripped over my child, stepping on her foot, as he was rushing to initiate the argument outside. *Mr. Posalski was wearing a Tsunami Sandwich Company shirt, and according to the Oregon Secretary of State Page, he's the owner of that business as well. read more

The blonde woman at the counter always seems put out by my blended coffee, and annoyed with the presence of other customers.
