I have done the Honkey Tonk and Lost Treasure rooms at Beach Escape and they're both pretty solid escape rooms. They are not the best in the Tampa Bay area, but they're definitely good ones to start with! Actually, the Honkey Tonk was my second escape room, after a terrible experience at my first escape room (a different place in Tampa). We were with a big group of other people, which gives the game a different feeling. (We prefer doing it just the two of us because we think it's more fun and a better challenge, but this was still fun with a group.) Because we were still newbies, we found the room to be pretty challenging. I don't know if going back now we would still think so, but it was then! I really like the way it is set up, and this is not a linear room which I like. The Lost Treasure, on the other hand, is a more linear room from what I remember, which is not my preference but it was still enjoyable. We did that one with just the two of us, and there were some cool aspects to it. Every room has its fun, unique twists, and this one is no exception. While there are probably two other escape room businesses in Tampa Bay that I would recommend more, Beach Escape is definitely a good choice, especially for beginners. You will enjoy yourself, and it's a great way to spend a rainy day at the beach! read more

We did the 'building 93' escape room and enjoyed it a lot. Right amount scary to set the story but not too much to distract us from solving clues. Our game host was MK, very nice. helped us out with clues and kept positive attitude. My daughter and I did "Where in the World " and nearly got out! We enjoyed our experience at Beach Escape. The staff were friendly. The puzzles weren't overly complicated but there were a lot of pieces to decipher at any given moment. My only reason this wasn't a 5 star is the slow typing of the clues. I think we lost time trying to read the clues coming across the screen at a slow pace. As a GM myself at escape rooms I know how important it is for players to get clues quickly. Overall give this a try. It is a fun and quick hour for a rainy day or just something different to do. read more

So much fun! I've done the Honky Tonk and Lost Treasure rooms with friends; we escaped both times. They were challenging (they do give you up to 3 clues on a monitor if you get stuck) with fun puzzles and surprises. These rooms are well thought out and creative. We had four of us ranging from 9-37 and all had a good time. We were one clue short of getting out, but were happy since it was our 1st time. The employees were quick to respond with clues if needed, and the clues flowed well from one to the next. It was exciting and the hour flew by super quick unfortunately. We arrived 5 minutes late, had a room for 6:00 and got there at 6:05, the guy at the front desk said we couldn't do our escape room. He said we should have "checked the 'frequently asked questions' of the website to know we were supposed to arrive 20 minutes early." Seriously?!?! He was rude and super unaccomodating! He said it was stated in the email we were supposed to arrive 20 minutes early, and my friend checked her email and there's no statement saying we have to arrive early. He said we couldn't do it because there was a 7:00 room and they have to clean for 20 minutes in between rooms. Then why not just left us do the room for 30 minutes and kick us out when you have to start cleaning!?! Super rude to us and it was my friend's birthday, he wouldn't give us a refund so we will be disputing it with the bank. read more

While vacationing with our two teenage boys in St. Pete's Beach , we were looking for something different to do. We had heard about these escape rooms, but really didn't have a clue as to what they were all about. So we decided to take a chance... what fun! Our room was a pirate treasure theme. The fun part was that we really had to work together as a family to figure out the clues that were given to us. And yes, we did get out of our room in the allotted amount of time. What I really liked about this activity is that we not only had to work together but it also didn't include any use of electronic devices! First time doing an escape room - loved it! Took my parents there and 4 of us did the Honky Tonk room. I'm afraid we didn't finish, even using the clues, but we were pretty close. The puzzles are fairly challenging. The clues were perfect - just enough but not too easy. It was a lot of fun, although lighting was very poor, making some of the locks very tricky. The staff present for my first game were amazing and we had a blast. My complaint is with the woman who answers the phone to book an experience. Twice now, she has been so rude that we chose not to go. The first was for a business retreat for 11 and the second involved a groupon. On the second, I didn't read the fine print that it wasn't available on Saturdays. She informed me that was the case and when I asked for an exception, she muttered something under her breath. She wouldn't repeat it. I am very sorry to have put her out, but her response was awful customer service. She easily could have said, I am so sorry, but I can't. Anyway, if you can book online, you can avoid her, but I wouldn't give her a call. read more

This particular escape room operation allows for up to 8 people in a room so if you don't go with an 8 person group you'e stuck with whoever else signs up. We had 4 people and the 4 who went into the room with us were so aggressive and awful. The tiny room that the Honky Tonk started in could barely hold all of us. Staff forgot to leave one clue in the room so we were stuck until we had to use a clue and then they realized they left out an essential item. Anyway, the group we were stuck with were pushy, annoying, loud and aggressive. 2 people in my group stopped participating because these people were in CHARGE. One moron actually attempted to grab a key I had found out of my hand. I had to forcefully tell him to back off. So, I will NEVER go back to this escape room unless they change the 8 person policy and just allow single groups to go in. But the experience probably would have been fun without strangers in the room. read more

There were 7 of us of all ages (68-17) and none of us had done one before! We all went in a little nervous because we didn't know what to expect but we were all pleasantly surprised! I went with a full group and everyone had such a fantastic time! The staff worked with us when we originally wanted more people in the room but then had some friends cancel. We all knew the basic concept but had no idea what to expect. We were happily surprised! There are 2 rooms to currently choose from... The Honky Tonk and the Pirate Treasure, but the staff said they are adding 2 new rooms in a few months. I can see why! We did the Honky Tonk but were eager to try the other room right away. Lots of puzzles and clues. Teamwork, patience, and communication were necessary. Be ready to think, plan, take a step back to figure out the riddles. So much fun! Excellent rooms! We did 2 escape rooms Caged and Where In The World, both were very creative and challenging.

The staff here are friendly and welcoming. We had lots of fun although we didn't escape! Honky tonk was very challenging.
