Those ratings were probably well deserved. I wanted to try the chicken fried steak, but was out of luck on that for lunch. I didn't know their lunch menu was limited to to four items of the day. The full menu is not served until after 4PM. Fortunately, one of the items on the menu was a hamburger. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich. Both were good and the fries were made from fresh cut potatoes. It is very unlikely that I will be traveling through Bristow, OK after 4PM. So I have to rate the place on the limited menu available for lunch. Call ahead to see what is for lunch before you stop. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. This place has really good homemade food. The staff is super friendly. However it's named The Beach House, but nothing about it reminds me of a beach. As soon as I opened my door to get out of my vehicle, my nose was assaulted by an overpowering rancid smell of a grease trap next to the restaurant. Grease traps in Oklahoma in July....I think you get the point. Luckily the restaurant seemed clean. I ordered chicken fried steak. I wish they had a few more menu items. The chicken fried steak was homemade and very good but it needed lots of salt and pepper. The mashed potatoes were homemade but also needed lots of salt and pepper. The grilled zucchini were dynamite! The rolls were an inedible dense mass of heated dough that should be used in blunt object warfare. This place was worth the stop! Took my wife and 3 kids here on a road trip. We got off the highway looking for something, and all we saw were the regular chain restaurants. Stumbled into this place and fell in love. My family loved the fresh breaded mushrooms. My 7 year old son devoured his 8 oz steak that was cooked with perfection. My oldest daughter loved her chicken basket and my youngest daughter loved her steak salad. My wife and I got burgers that were the best we've had in a long time. If you're ever hungry on the way to OKC. Stop and check out the Beach House. You'll be glad you did. Also. Order the homemade blackberry cobbler. And the homemade chocolate cake. Quaint smallish place that was full of local regulars. Every new customer shook hands with the people already there. On Tuesday when I was there, a husband and wife country singers were entertaining. Fried chicken pretty good. Fried okra excellent, green beans out of a can, roll was not very good. My husband liked his burger, pretty big piece of meat. Would go back if I am in Bristow again. Yelp nor The Beach House disappointed. Rock on! Friendly, helpful (and cute) staff -with a menu that reads on for days. Everything looked o-mazing. Stopped midway between OKC and Tenkiller looking for a quality dinner. Enjoyed the fresh "beachy" atmosphere. Strange to experience in this sleepy town. Always busy. On late trips to the lake, this will become my personal staple. Love you guys!!! read more

If you are passing by on Route 66 stop in for some Sweet Tea & something fried The service is always amazing, it's like going to your Grandma house and there is always something to eat for everyone. It's a family owned restaurant and they make sure to make you feel like family. Plus they leave with a full tummy & no complaints. It's something to write home about read more

Yummy food! Spicy chicken chunks, steak salad, chicken fried steak, zucchini logs, all of it! Big portions. Good tea. Nice waitstaff.

This is the best of Bristow! Hours sometimes are hard to make, and not open every day, but worth the trip!

The food can be slow to come out, but when it does, it is amazing. They serve large portions at a very reasonable price. Saturday mornings they serve a breakfast menu that is home cooked. The service we have had has been excellent, with fast drink refills. read more

We looked up places as we were nearing Bristow and read the reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. I had the 1/2 portion of chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and okra. Chicken fry was tender and nicely breaded, fresh okra, real potatoes and homemade rolls. All made in their kitchen. My husband had the pork chop and said it was great. We couldn't have felt any more welcome. Recommend to all for a great home cooked meal in a comfortable and quaint environment. First, don't let the name throw you. This isn't lame seafood or an effort at a beach shack in the middle of Oklahoma. It's the owners name. And it turns out they've been doing "farm to table" since before farm to table became cool. Great cuts of meat, reasonable prices, plenty of local or home grown veggies, it's all homemade and fresh (they pride themselves on not having a microwave on the grounds) and they have plenty of options. It's casual and is a local place frequented by locals. Highlights are the steak and the pork chops. We didn't have the chicken fried steak but word is it's great. No booze, plenty of alternatives though. If you want good American cuisine served by friendly people in a family owned place you can't go wrong here. read more

Our family group of 13 visited The Beach House today for the first time. They were welcoming to a party our size and went out of their way to accommodate us. The people were all very friendly and helpful! The meals, which ranged from Indian Tacos to Chicken Fried Steak to Grilled Cheese to Cheeseburgers were all enjoyed and plates were cleaned. Desserts included Peach Cobbler, German Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Cake plus others we didn't try. The owner, Mark Beach, visited with us and came back later to make sure all was well. It was, and I hope to return there very soon! The prices were very good as well. This is a jewel in Bristow! read more

If chicken fried steak is the litmus test of a good restaurant, then this place is mediocre. The okra tasted okay, but like it had been fried a few hours ago. The grilled zucchini was very good. I have to agree with the person who describes the rolls as hard chunks of dough. My husband's burger was fair and the fries also fair. How else can you say mediocre?? I would have given it 3 stars except for the flies that kept buzzing our table. read more
