She knows me too well every morning I expect to come to the Crescent Café. It's that good it's cozy and it's inexpensive and I really enjoy the atmosphere. The place is always pretty packed. The fried chicken was good & my niece said the catfish nuggets were great. I see no reason to drive 40 miles from home again for their Sunday buffet. Sorry, Mugsy! The owner came out and talked with each patron individually and was very welcoming. He was very nice and I enjoyed the conversation. Some might think he's trying a bit too hard, but I thought it was a nice touch. The meat was all good, except the brisket was a little over done. But not really a big deal, as the sandwich was pretty good. I did NOT care for the BBQ sauce (and I LOVE sauce) as it seemed more like ketchup than BB sauce. It wasn't offensive, I just didn't like it as I felt it was rather bland. The onion rings were 10/10, my favorite style. The peach fried pie was probably the best fried pie I've ever had. So tasty. The restaurant was in the surface was very fast. I was torn between a few things on the item that ultimately landed on the chicken fried steak just because it was a Sunday night meal. I ended up not being able to finish it so I took it home and ate it the next day and it says that even better. The fries lacked seasoning but were decent enough. Julie was our server and she was very pleasant. The service was fast and our order came out quicker than expected.
