Salt water Pool is not heated, however very refreshing in the summer. Steps to the beach. Gem of a B&B!! Must is the Fish Shop oh my gosh I could eat there everyday and I'm not into seafood! An amazing location, but the owner is not. I wanted to love this place, but the passive anger and dislike of animals, although owning property Southern California, is incredibly odd. Witnessing the angry conversations outside the front yard when people are simply walking their dogs, was really upsetting. Especially for a Vet, but regardless, upsetting likely for anyone. I called to find out about availability, and the lady who answered the phone sounded annoyed and rushed instantly. She told me what website to go on to check availability, great, thank you, however while I'm on the phone with her I'm looking up the website and it's giving me an error, so I tell her and she repeats the website the exact same way she gave it to me the first time but it wasn't working, so I quickly googled and the website was a tad different than what she gave me so I told her, just so she knows and she can inform her guests in the future with the correct website. When I told her she said "ok whatever". Really quickly and dismissively. Hmm ok I ignored her annoyance and asked another question, but as that question was coming out of my mouth I'm thinking if I really want to even stay here, I'm obviously being annoying to this woman and she seems like she is trying to rush off the phone. I truly don't feel like this company deserves my money or time. So after I asked my question, I said "actually it's ok, have a great day, bye-bye" and hung up. I have checked other comments and it doesn't seem like the ladies behavior is an isolated one, this is her character. She definitely shouldn't be working in the hospitality business. read more

We are a fan! There is a parking space dedicated for us. The water is one street over. We stayed in the room attached to the main house. The linens smelled so nice, everything was neat and clean. Plenty of food provided for breakfast. I know a hot, freshly prepared breakfast is preferred in a B&B, but with this Pandemic era we live in, better to handle our own food. The place is convenient for us as it was a short drive to SD Zoo and SeaWorld. No complaint. Definitely we will be back. Thank you Linda for the warm hospitality! read more

It is easy to see why The Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast is at the top of every ratings. Linda and Norm combine all the modern amenities of a 5 star hotel and the cozy comfort of a Bed & Breakfast. Throughout our five nights there we continued to find additional little touches, which helped make our stay extremely enjoyable. Before we arrived Norm took the time to provide us with directions to the place that were better than the Google maps.route. We loved the fact that we had our own entrance and parking spot. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood just a half a block from Mission Bay and at the same time minutes from the usual tourist attractions. The refrigerator in our room was so stocked with breakfast goodies and fruit that we struggled to find space for leftovers from our dinners out. We stayed in the Tuscan room for two nights and it was wonderful. The room is amazing and the kitchenette has everything you need. The place is super clean, the bed is comfy and Norm and Linda have done an amazing job with all the amenities. They stock the fridge with a ton of goodies to eat for breakfast or snack on throughout the day. The garden/pool area with the gas fireplace is beautiful and a nice spot to relax and hangout. There is a familiar feeling at Beach Hut. Family-like. Like we'd been here before! We had THE most amazing time! Felt just like home! Linda and Norm were so welcoming! The Garden suite was cozy, warm and stocked with our have breakfast goodies. Every morning we would eat it on the patio next to the humming birds and butterflies!. The garden is so peaceful and serene. The pool is great for those hot San Diego days! Only 1 block from Mission Bay Beach and a 10 min Bike Ride (or 30 min walk) from the ocean. Stayed three nights at Beach hut about two weeks ago. The POSITIVE: - We had our very own reserved off street parking spot!! [after hunting for places to park this was very appreciated] - Beautiful large room - amazing sheets and towels! seriously. I've never had bath towels that were so soft. - relaxing salt water pool - amazing landscaped backyard for relaxing The NEGATIVE: When I go to a B&B I expect a homemade breakfast each morning. Here we had an assortment of packaged breakfast foods that were not refreshed during our stay. So the first morning we had a lot to choose from, but by the third all of our favorites were gone and we were left with the remnants Overall I was super happy with the stay and will definitely stay there again. THe breakfast deal caught me off guard and wasnt what I was hoping for but everything else more than made up for it. read more

OMG!!!! This is the best place I have ever stayed!!!! They thought about everything...heating towel rack, detailed decor, comfortable bed, fireplace, electric candles, two person dinette table, coffee maker, closet, shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser (fully stocked), menu (where you can choose what breakfast foods you want in your fridge), microwave, toaster, full sink (with sink supplies, two face masks, hand sanitizer, plenty of lighting, black out curtains, TV with cable and that's just the inside. The outside is absolutely beautiful. Small pool (clean), good quality (easy to use) fire pit with adequate and very comfortable seating, beautiful gardening, plenty of lighting, electric locks on gate and bedroom doors, which was seriously convenient, individual entrance into the property, designated private parking, and to top it all off the place is across the street from Mission Bay Park (Crowne Point). The owners are hands off, but available. The place was spotless, cozy and quaint!! You will love this place guaranteed!!!! It was so amazing!!!!! I had a fabulous time!! Wonderful owners!! read more

If I could give this place more stars, I would. Norm and Linda are wonderful hosts and make the place feel like a home away from home, with everything you might need. The grounds are gorgeous, complete with a private backyard, saltwater pool, firepit table, tons of outdoor seating, and your own designated parking spot. If you're a beach bum, you can't get much closer to the beach - you're just across the street and down a walkway from Crown Point beach. The room was wonderful as well. The bed was soft with a ton of pillows, the bathroom was neat and clean (with great body wash, shampoo, and conditioner offered), and there was every piece of kitchen-type equipment you could need like a large reusable water bottle to bring to the beach, plastic serveware to enjoy food/wine outside, and even a tray to carry your wine outside. The kitchen contained the stuff you would expect at a hotel, like a Keurig and some tea, but what really made this place stand out was the food provided in the room's kitchenette. Most B&Bs make you a big breakfast every morning, which you eat in the dining room with any other guests who are staying there. I really preferred the format at Beach Hut, which is that your mini fridge is stocked with a ton of breakfast foods and snacks that you can grab and take with you as you head out to the beach, or have as a mid-afternoon snack. I'd much rather eat quickly and get to the attractions of the day, so this was perfect for me. I really liked all the food provided, which all came from Trader Joe's, like the blueberry waffles, pancakes, english muffins, bagels, french toast, packages hard boiled eggs, yogurt, individual-sized cereals, and even some Babybels. If you have any questions about the area, talk to Linda. She was very helpful in her suggestions of things to do, places to eat, beaches to visit, how to rent $10/day bikes delivered to you(!), and even gave helpful tips on where to find parking in congested areas of the city. There was even a big binder in our room of all the hot spots/recommendations for you to try during your stay, complete with menus, brochures, and maps. Norm and Linda truly have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant, and even asked for any suggestions we may have to make their place better. As you can probably tell from this review, I couldn't think of anything to say! I would not hesitate to stay at Beach Hut the next time I'm in San Diego. Staying across the street from Mission Bay with a personal parking space; minutes to get downtown & explore Little Italy; super easy access from Interstate 8 (the way we come in). We always stay in the Garden Room - walk out the door to the most gorgeous patio where you can eat your breakfast, relax with coffee or tea, read a book, sunbathe on a lounge chair, take a dip in the pool, have a glass of wine at the "fire pit" table..........so many options for a patio in paradise. The accommodation is fantastic with ample food & non-alcoholic beverages (bring your own wine); comfortable bed; heat & cooling to keep you comfortable; all the bathroom amenities you could want; flat screen with lots of channels. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and could not have been more pleased with our experience. Linda and Norm really went above and beyond in ensuring we had everything we needed. Even prior to our arrival, they were kind enough to stock our room with some extra items we wanted to have on hand right as we arrived. They were so pleasant and accomodating. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. It was a little chilly so we did not take advantage of the pool but we did have some wine and sweets by the fire pit in the evening and it made for a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. We were immediately struck by the charm of the courtyard/pool area and very happy with our clean, comfortable, and updated room. The Beach Hut is within walking distance of Mission Bay, as well as several local restaurants. It's also located in a quiet neighborhood--a plus if you're looking to get some rest at the end of a busy day! Norm and Linda are also very respectful of privacy, but available should you need anything. Reading by the pool and relaxing next to their outdoor fire pit were both highlights of our stay. My wife and I lounged in cozy comfort in the Tuscan Room over the recent post- Covid July 4th weekend. The room was very nicely decorated with extra features including our own thermostatic control, WIFI, and HD cable with movie channels too. The queen bed and bedding were very comfortable. The kitchen and fridge were pre-stocked with fruit, eggs, cheese, yogurt, muffins, bagels and oatmeal. We enjoyed having breakfast outside at a patio table in their pretty garden and a glass of wine at night at the outdoor fire pit. Parking was hassle-free in the private driveway. Check-in was simple with our own lock code and private entrance. The highlight though is the location; it is so convenient to many Pacific Beach restaurants and is seriously only a 1 minute walk to the sand of Sail Beach on Mission Bay. And our thanks go out to Norm for his attention to every detail and to Linda for her friendly disposition and conversation. read more

A truly fantastic place to stay. Across the street from the bay and 5 minute walk to the ocean, Linda and Norm are wonderful hosts. Our room was super comfy, stocked with every breakfast food you could want. The saline pool was so soft and a nice alternative when the beach got too hot. They had everything we needed...on site parking, umbrellas/beach chairs to use, fire pit, towels, WiFi. We even showed up 2 hours early for check in and Linda let us change into our swimsuits, drop off our bags, and hit the beach. 100% I would stay here again and I hope I can! read more

My wife and I stayed here a year ago for her birthday. I wish we had stayed longer than 3 days. The owners were so great, wonderful people! Day 1 I arrived and found regular milk in the fridge which I couldn't drink as I'm lactose intolerant. He went out immediately and purchased almond milk for me. The place is beautiful, the backyard is like a little oasis all to yourself. My wife and I sat out at the fire pit just enjoying the beautiful clear sky for hours every night we were there. If you needed anything all you had to do was ask. I was truly impressed with how they managed to be so attentive while giving you your space and privacy. We can't wait to go back though it will be tougher as we live in northern california now but soon! read more

When my husband and I stayed at the beach hut for our honeymoon it was an absolute delight! We were warmly greeted by Norman and Linda and given suggestions of what to do around this fabulous beach town. The room that we stayed in gave us the privacy and luxury that we were hoping for. I had the pleasure of staying at the Beach Hut while my San Diego home was being treated for termites. It was a delight. Everything was immaculate. Out hosts, Norm and Linda attended to our every need and made sure that we had the finest of everything. Refrigerator was fully stocked every day while we were out enjoying the beauty of Pacific Beach and all that San Diego has to offer. It made the unpleasant experience of having to move out of our home for a few days all the more enjoyable. How nice to feel like you're vacationing in your own town! Had a perfect stay at the Beach Hut B&B over the holidays. The room was comfortable and had it's own kitchen area with a fully stocked fridge for breakfast. What a B&B!! If I could give this place more stars-I would as well! Norm and Linda are fantastic hosts and make you feel like this is your home. First the beach is literally 45 seconds away! You can either cross the street and take 45 steps down to the beach or walk 45 seconds south to a walkway that leads you down the beach. A win-win. Upon arrival, Linda met us on the porch and welcomed us to our new "home" for the next few days. She showed us how to enter our keyless studio room (keyless is awesome so you never have to worry about losing a key!) and gave us a tour of the room. The kitchen has everything you need (except a stove). There was waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bananas, milk, Nutella, four different types of coffee, 5 different types of tea, jams, ketchup, pancakes, french toast, bagels and a bunch of other fruits--majority of it from trader joes and/or Kroger. And guess what, you come back after a long day of basking in the sun, and the fridge is RESTOCKED!!! Like magic. Norm and Linda really pay attention to what you like and don't like and restock your fridge for you. And if there is anything you need, you simply ask and Norma and Linda are on it. They have these single serve Nutella packets. We asked for more, and well, they bought us a whole jar of it! How thoughtful! The bathroom comes with a hairdryer and organic body washes/shampoos. It also comes with a reusable shower cap and makeup wipes. They have a TV with uverse--all the channels you could ask for (HBO/Showtime). We made it just in time for our favorite boxing match and Linda started recording it for us just in case we were running late. Again, how thoughtful. If you want, they will make your bed every day, provide fresh linens and towels too. They also have this cute beach bag and two beach towels for you to use. They even have two beach chairs and an umbrella to take down to the beach if you like. We stayed in the Tuscan room which has this adorable fake fireplace that made the place feel super cozy. Parking was easy with our own personal spot. Norm and Linda are as hands off as you want them to be or as hands on as you want them to be...your call. But they are always available should you need them. We came here on our honeymoon and it was just perfect for the two of us! When we come back, we are def staying here again! read more
