I order the Rueben. The setting is fantasticc and the service os quick and personable. I ordered the Rueben, it was good delicous flavor. The chopped meat was different vs deli sliced style and the bread was a little soggy after a few bites and handling. They normally have pretty slow customer service, so don't go if you are in a hurry. The staff messed up on my first sandwich, I absolutely cannot have spicy food and they drenched it in Tabasco sauce (Pig kahuna). The second I had just had a 30 min wait time, eith having 6-7 people working you think even having 8-12 people in your building you would serve faster than that. I really love this Beach Hut location. Typically, I only come here when I have ordered 15 sandwiches on a Friday for my staff, and every single time that I have placed a large order, they don't mess it up. The fact that they do not mess up my order, EVER, is really what keeps me coming back... that an their sandwiches. I would only recommend coming to Beach Hut for a meal if you are working with a realllll appetite. The sandwiches are HUGE and piled high with meat/produce. I have tried a few different items from the menu and thus far, I have not tasted one that I did not like. I have a few personal favorites, which include the Spicoli, the Shark Bite, and the Marley nachos. Ya, that's right, they even have nachos. The nachos are extremely good, especially if you eat them on location. I have found that if you take them to go, the nacho cheese hardens and some of the chips get soggy. I was excited about a new restaurant in Auburn, but this didn't really do it for me. My family has been there several times, and my experience has been that the sandwiches are so/so and the prices are HIGH. The whole tropical vibe thing just isn't enough to justify the prices. The Spicolli is our favorite sandwich. Before I tried that the two other sandwiches I ordered tended to be wet and watery, from the juice of the peppers. I only feel compelled to post this review because I saw what I hoped was a one time problem again. A couple months ago I come in and order a sandwich. A redhead girl who seems to sort of be in charge was making it. However she was on HER cellphone talking to a friend while she was making the sandwich, holding it to her ear with her shoulder. Not only this but she was clearly sick and in the course of preparing my sandwich she wiped her nose with her bare hands and kept going. This is gross but I'm not really a germphobe so I decided to overlook it instead of embarrass her. Last week I ordered the surfing bird which includes bacon and it had only one slice of bacon! I got it to go and didn't notice until later. Walking up there is a crowd of smokers fumigating the front porch. They look like they live here (at the restaurant.) while placing order, the food preparers are eating their own personal food at the sandwich making counter. They then move into making sandwiches without washing their hands. The employees look dirty and stink of cigarettes. The place gets worse every time I visit. As I was eating at the table, the crodes out front were spitting their chew spit all over the patio. NASTY PLACE. These are all the employees friends just loitering. This little chain restaurant sits in a small strip mall from the outside it looks like a bar with a beach theme. Woah, when we walked in, it was exactly what I thought it was from the outside. Table tops shaped like surfboards and even a tiki hut bar. And if course nothing but girls in daisy dukes with biker boots. Weird combo, but the single guys and married ones too enjoyed the view. There were several tv's around with the same football game on. The menu is an overhead right at the counter and a vertical tv displaying the signature crafted beer. There was a family ahead of us that coached us on their favorites and told us to order the small size because they are huge too. I ordered my favorite, the Ruben loaded and my wife the pesto chicken. We paid at the counter, recited our number and waited to be called. Our number was called within 5 minutes and Oh yeah! THe sandwiches looked thick and yummy. One of the girls came by several times to check with guests about the food. This by far, has been the best place we've eaten while in Auburn. I would eat here again. read more

Now, this is a great place to grab a sandwich and a beer!! The decore has a surfing/beach feel to it. Very clean and tidy. Now to the highlight of this place the food. We ordered the Surfin Cow and the Malibu sandwich's. The surfin cow has roast beef with cream cheese, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, and tomatoes. Man, was it tasty. The Malibu had, chopped pastrami with a melted cheese sauce (yummy), avocado, and some caramelized onions. OMG, this sammy was just OFF THE HOOK tasty!!!! The bread has a crust on the outside and was soft as a pillow on the inside. The bread was perfect!!! After we were done devouring our sandwiches, the manager came to our table and asked is everything was good. Removed our trays and said "hope to see you again". Great service here. After paying $27 for two sandwiches with green pineapple on our sandwich, we spoke to the manager or owner, whoever he was, he was helping himself to multiple beers which probably explains his horrible response to our complaint. Our pineapple was NOT ripe, his response was "obviously the sandwich was good, you ate it. I just tasted the pineapple and the pieces I got were fine. I'm at the mercy of my produce guy, we cut our pineapple fresh everyday". How about a sorry this happened, how about a $5 coupon for your horrible experience to make sure you come back again! OK, I am forced to update my review here....this is not a chain it is a franchise....Family owned and opperated...I have gone in many times with my little people and they have played with the owners little boy...I can't remember his name but he is adorable...We love Max's place too....however they have limited hours....beach hut puts out a great quality sandwich at a great price...lets face it....today...it is hard for anyone to make it....I personally have found that the new owners have expedited service significantly. read more

Really good food! They got my order wrong the first time, but remade the sandwich and even without the yummy creamcheese or cheese of any kind - it was still delicious! Bread is soft, beer on tap is delightful, and the overall vibe of the restaurant is really cool and welcoming. The hostess was also really sweet and accommodating when I asked about all the beers they had available. She even gave me a sampler of the fruity one I almost (mistakenly) ordered! I grew up working and going to beach hut. When I'm in town visiting family it's one of my favorite places to go back to. I was so disappointed today when we went in to this location with my kids for the first time. At first I thought it was so great they had a corner with toys for my boys to play with, but then the owner of this location ripped a toy out of my 18 month old hands because the toy was annoying him as he drank his beer. When I tried to confront him he just ignored me and continued to drink. Sadly I will never return again. read more

Well I was a little dissapointed to find out this was a chain. The Auburn one is the only one I've ever seen, but my brother told me there's one in Stockton. I've been passing this one on the way to my real estate agent and finally hit it for a late lunch. The interior is what you'd expect. The noise level was a bit high, but not terrible. The service was pretty fast and friendly. I ate outside at one of the 5 or 6 tables. The sandwich was excellent! I got the "Spicoli", which is turkey with bacon, ranch, lettuce and melted cheddar cheese. There was no skimping on the meat for sure. I could barely eat 2/3ds of it with no sides. Less than $10 for a huge sandwich and a beer on tap (good selection too). Bummed about the chain thing, but I'll go back. read more

Beach Hut Deli is one of our favotites. Roseville makes a mean Spicy Turtle. Grass Valley makes the best salad ever!

I actually ate at the one in Grass Valley, but there is no yelp acct. for that one. I've eaten here quite a few times and it wasn't until today I realized Beach Hut is a chain! Here I thought it we were so lucky to have this place in Auburn. The place has a beach theme.... duh. It's nice though a bit cheezy. The sandwich menu is quite large and has some really unique choices on it to try out. They have both warm and cold sandwiches. Veggie and meat options. Different sizes too but even the small is quite large. Also the Marley Nachos are unbelievable! Real bacon! Endless soda fountain. They also have beer available which is probably a bit overpriced but it's not a bar-type hangout. The service is usually pretty quick, even when it's busy though it can be a very popular place at lunchtime, especially on the weekends. It's mainly young kids behind the counter so expect that level of service. Lots of parking though if you have to turn left into or our of the parking lot you could be waiting a while as Grass Valley Highway is usually pretty busy. read more
