Unedible bread. It was so dry it crumbled apart. Just tried to eat the insides which wasn't much. The young man behind the counter was nice and friendly. When we got there it was clean but later in the day so all of the seating was up on tables which was fine but if you can't sell an edible sandwich at 6 pm you should close earlier. The other was a Ruben and they couldn't toast the bread due to the time of day. We toasted it once we got home in a pan on the stove and his was edible. The turkey, not at all. And trust me baby, I ain't shy when I tell you that I like a nice slab of spread on my sandwiches as well as extra meat. And I NEVER mind paying extra cause that's just the way things are today! Food: Bread is always fresh and tasty, they are known for their signature Dutch Crunch and I have had it but I like good ol' slice Sourdough! Veggies are always crunchy and fresh! Meat is always tasty and I never experienced any bad meat. LOVE their marinated chicken! And a sammie without bacon and avocado is just incomplete for me! Also, their PICKLES ARE SOOO YUMMY! Great sandwich, made in timely manner. My only complaint is they got my red pepper hummus probably on their gloves. There was hummus all over the outside of my bun and the wrapping that came with it. Wow, did it satisfy my craving! Sitting on a picnic bench to eat it out in the sun in the middle of December at Auburn Ravine wasn't too shabby either. I'm generally a big fan of Mr. Pickles' sin general. Was heading up to Tahoe and this was a great place to stop to grab something to eat on the road. Sandwiches were great as usual! I like getting the spinach wrap substituted for my sandwich. I was able to order online and it was ready when I arrived. They also threw in free cookies which was super sweet! Plenty of vegetarian options. COVID TIPS: Minimal outdoor seating - but there are some tables. There is no bathroom to be used (nearby gas station does have one.) The staff is always behind and not super friendly. I can deal with that aspect. The fact that they consistently mess up my orders is what I don't like. They have all the great pickles sandwiches and products but your likely not to get what you order. Quantities are inconsistent. Mr. Pickle's is a great sandwich chain in general, but this location is one of the best. We grabbed sandwiches here on the way up to the Yuba River from Sacramento. On top of making a great sandwich and good service, they were the only place we could find that was open by 9 am on a Sunday. I went with my usual, the Tom Turkey - roasted turkey, bacon and swill on a sourdough roll. I also made the wise choice of getting no mayo since we weren't going to eat this baby for a while. The sandwich held well during the journey to the river and was filling and delicious. While at the shop, the employees were nice enough to let me use their restroom even though they had a sign stating "No Public Restroom." They understand a proper sandwich! Dutch Crunch is not a thing where I'm from, so I avoided it, luckily we got a sandwich with it anyway because we didnt want sourdough, GET THE DUTCH CRUNCH! It's a french roll with a crispy coating for anyone else who has no idea what that is. Lol ONLY con is the chicken they use is that weird Subway kind of grilled chicken chunks. It just does not look appetizing at all and it felt out of place among all the fresh looking sandwiches we had. I love this Pickles and boldly say the are THE BEST PICKLES for a variety of reasons. First, they have the BEST SANDWICHES AND SALADS! I LOVE everything there - my favorites are their chef salad, and the french dip. YUM. Everything is always fresh and delicious, and plentiful. Next, (these comments are not neccessarily in order,) THE STAFF! They are ALL so friendly, professional, fast, curteous, professional. IMPRESSIVE. Amber has been an incredible asset to all of them, (I'm sure she trained them) I know, and now that she's grown to an advanced position, I delight in the times I get to see her in the shop - working right alongside everyone else. Hustling like a boss! Everyone there gets two thumbs up for sure! The other reason I love this Pickles is because of HOW INCREDIBLY GENEROUS AND SUPPORTIVE they are to our community, and really surrounding our communities too. Ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado which wasn't on the menu but I could hear the person in line behind us say it and it sounded good. The young lady at the counter said she could make it. Ordered that and a pastrami. Both were very good, fresh. This was our first time at a Mr Pickle's and was not disappointed. The bonus was the cookie. Crispy edges and soft inside. Very good. When I got my order home and opened up sandwiches it was not what I ordered! First sandwich did not have the avacado or the peppercinis on it! The second Turkey, provolone, cranberry sauce, lettuce, pickles, mayonnaise on a soft roll! What I got was a Turkey, Provolone with a tiny pickle, no cranberry sauce and no Mayonnaise! So their Sandwiches are great, they have excellent portions with fast delivery and prep. Problem is they use the cheapest To-go cups possible and they spill everywhere if not packed correctly, I have lost my Au Jus all but one time now. They know it's a problem because they wrap all to-go cups in plastic wrap, but that's just plain lazy. Either spend the money for cups and lids -that actually seal- or teach your clown staff how to pack a bag intelligently enough to prevent item loss. Let's start with the fact that there are no smiling faces greeting customers here, which includes the guy who looked to be the manager. The fact that they all couldn't give a rip whether you buy a sandwich or take a dump on their counter is more than apparent in their overall demeanor. The poor girl making my sandwich was clueless about the daily special, and if I was a scumbag I could have gotten my sandwich at the Daily Special price. The gal next to her pulled a pretty sweet maneuver when she threw away an empty sandwich bag. Took the damn thing and stuffed it down in the overflowing trash, all the while immersing her glove into the muck in the can. Somebody didn't pay attention when she got her food-handler card. I feel sorry for the guy who got that sandwich. Well hell, at least she had on gloves?! If I'm forking over 10 bucks for a sandwich and drink, I at least want to feel like my money matters.
