The location was great. The theming was cool and the ambience good for a sandwich shop. Customer service was great. The ladies working there deserve a raise. So kind. My date ordered a super salad, while I ordered a large turkey and cheese sandwich on a French roll. All of it was 5 star. Just so good and full of flavor. The French bread was so soft and yummy. We also split a custom tuna melt sandwich on sourdough. It was also perfect. So good and would highly recommend. I highly recommend these sandwiches and shop if you want a great sandwich while in the area

I was apprehensive going to these Beach Hut places because the few times I had their menu seemed so overwhelmingly confusing. weird names, too many choices etc. etc. until I was assured by one the employees that I should just order what I want and they would do some Beach Hut voodoo and make it work!!! well, time has passed since i started coming here (2+years) and needless to say I am a converted fan. First off.. The Sammy's are dee-lish... normal sized ones is too much food for a dainty flower like myself....a 3 incher (small) is perfect...if you and your partner like sharing, a 6er will satisfy you both just nicely. secondly, this BH crew on 24th is fire...sweet, nice and friendly, polite and...sometimes funny. More importantly, fully trained and experienced. AND ...the food is fresh: bread, meats veggies etc. the place is always clean and maintained. I have heard some complaints about how long it may take for an order, but if you ever see this crew during a rush I can testify that it's all hands on deck to get food out as quickly as possible..(see pix...of them cranking out food for a line almost out the door)!!! Also, This is not just an established neighborhood gathering place. It is A genuine local eatery for the lunch crowd and an afternoon hang out for friends and family. BUT...the food is really what it's all about. Yes, the menu can be daunting yet i have found faves: Cali Cabrese, Surfing Bird (made my way)..and other stuff that was recommended...i keep asking for new suggestions.. If your afraid of what a "Whammy Bammy Beach wakadoodle Beach Sandwich " is...just ask for that Roast Beef thingy with extra mayo and no tomatoes and sprouts that you like... they'll make it work...

We love this location for Beach Hut. The ladies that work there are so nice and the food is always made fresh and delicious. I tried the meat ball sandwich (without produce cause I'm lame) with the sliced garlic bread - SO tasty!

Came here after having a job in the area. I've been to other Beach Hut Deli's but never this one. The person who greeted me behind the counter was very welcoming and nice. Place is very small and parking can kind of be hectic to find depending on the time you go here I suppose, but I found parking quick. I ordered the Shark Bite sandwich and it was delicious! Something about having the cream cheese with it just hit so hard. Overall, solid spot and definitely would come back to try more off the menu.

Each sandwich is crafted with care! 10/10

Beach Hut will always be one of my favorite sandwiche spots!! The owner has been with the company for a long time and her staff always greet you with open arms and a cold beer! I would tell you my sandwich but it's off the menu. 10/10 best sandwich in Sacramento as well as catering! Thank you!!

Been ordering here for about ten years. Always been a solid staple in Midtown and I've always been stoked to have it so nearby. However, quality's been iffy the last few times I've ordered in. Wait times have been well over promised time (~10-15 minutes). Wondering if it's an issue with their ordering system, Toast Tab, over-promising, but who knows. I'm down to wait, just hit me with an accurate time. This last visit was rough... and has me most likely not returning. Waited fifteen minutes over the stated pickup time. Strike One, but not a dealbreaker. Ordered a side that was halfway filled, which was only noticed once I was home. Strike Two. Okay, I'll let it ride, I say. But no, once getting into the sandwich I had a massive, blonde hair entwined within. I don't recall that being an add on... Strike Three. You're out.

Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. The bun, however, was enormous, so the overall experience was like eating a fluffy bread pillow with a whisper of sandwich somewhere in the middle. Honestly, the sandwich felt a bit like a mime, the idea of a sandwich was there, but the substance was invisible. I even wondered if maybe the fillings weren't hungry themselves. You're probably not pulling out your laptop to do any work or catch a vibe there unless listening to music and sending emails in a sandwich restaurant is your thing. They mix GARLIC and gawd knows what else for spices to make their Ike's sauce, so allergies beware. They offer plain mustard, but not plain mayo? For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. Fortunately I arrived when there wasn't another person in the store so I was able order up a plain ham and cheese sub with L, T, and A. The counter person was patient as I attempted to navigate the menu board. I communicated my wish for a simple sandwich and it arrived, albeit ridiculously overstuffed and above my budget expectations. Props for kindness and understanding. My first visit to any shop is always testing how well they do basics. So far, I'm not an Ike's fan. I'm no newcomer to sub sandwiches. At 82, and being a Massachusetts native, I've been a sub girl for at least 75 years, ever since I could wrap my fingers around the perfect sub roll. For more adventurous sandwich people, go for broke! This is your place!

Selland's Neighborhood Café & Bar absolutely delivered on happy hour. I came specifically to try…read moretheir 2-5pm deals, and the $5 spritz did not disappoint -- it's basically a giant goblet‑sized pour, super refreshing and honestly unbeatable for the price. I also ordered the All American Burger, and it was straight‑up fire: juicy, flavorful, and way better than I expected for a café‑style spot. The whole place gives off a subtle UK/England vibe with how clean and polished it feels, and I loved that the bathroom is labeled "WC" -- such a fun little touch that adds to the charm. They've also got a nice pastry selection, and my daughter was obsessed with her cupcake, so that's a win in my book. Between the great prices, the early happy hour, and the overall cozy, polished atmosphere, I'll probably be back. It's the kind of spot that feels low‑key but still thoughtful, and the value is hard to beat.

Never knew places like Selland's existed...didn't know about East Sac until this past week…read more.. WOW, East Sac is an amazing place full of incredible food that beats suburban South Bay food any day. Selland's has an amazing array of hot and cold food to select from made fresh for their customers. Seating is comfortable and meals are affordable. Order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Your food is brought to you. Water is self service as are utensils. Give it a whirl; parking may be a challenge but just be patient and you will be rewarded with your dining experience here. I look forward to my next culinary adventure here.
