Second bagel with no cream cheese- it was stuck in the bagel.

The customer service is absolutely great, however recently I got 4 bagels and 2 of them had hair cooked into the bagel, which means whoever made them was not wearing a hair net. I let the first one slide but when the second one had it as well, I was a bit shocked and disgusted.

I tried their Lox bagel. The portion size is small for the price (even including the bag of chips or pastry of your choice), and there was too much cream cheese in proportion to the other ingredients, including red onion, salmon, capers, tomato, and cucumbers. The salmon was delicious, and it paired well with the crispiness of the bagel and the other ingredients. Service was friendly and the location is great in the heart of Sacramento!

Forgot to split the bagel. Took this unflattering pic of it but trust me when I opened it up in half I could not lay my hands off of it. I absolutely went to town on it.

I ordered 1/2 dozen of assorted bagels and they did not disappoint! Made fresh. Loved that they slice them in 1/2. Thank you. Got them quickly! Love the cream cheese was wipped easy to spread.

This Noah's bagel is such a vibe. Staff is so sweet but I would like to shoutout a special individual that stood out to me and I believe she's a manager and if she's not she should be because she was so welcoming so sweet and so helpful, she made me feel so welcomed since I stepped in, her name is Alicia!! She took my order and my bagel was done in less than 2 minutes. To be honest this is the one of the BEST jalapeño cheese avocado chorizos bagels I have ever gotten! Thank you Alicia and team! I'll definitely come by again.

It's a quick place to get a bite; similar quality as if you made the same thing with a few ingredients from Safeway. Still tasted pretty good, so I will leave as a 3/5. No tables btw, operates similar as a fast food establishment. Tho, the decore looks better than like an average McDonald's

Swung by in a hurry whilst running errands. Staff was friendly; the place was clean. Wasn't sure what breakfast to get someone I didn't know. Their recommendation helped me out and was apparently delicious. Veg out was also great. To be fair: are they actual bagels? No. But are they still delicious sandwiches? Yes.

    "Farmhouse" bagel

Bagels are a comfort food and can be even more filling when you load them up with eggs, protein, and everything else to get your day started. This takes me one of many "Noah's NY Bagels" with this one being in the heart of Midtown Sacramento. Located at the corner of 19th St/J St, this place has been around for several decades and has been a go-to spot for many people getting their bagel fix. And since it neighbors a Starbucks, it is common for many people to go to both locations. I came here during the morning of Saturday 10/5/2024 at around 9:00am. There were about 4 employees which meant it was pretty well-staffed for that time of day. However, a few drawbacks is that this location offered no indoor seating (which I'm thinking was eliminated dating back to the COVID days). And unfortunately, their public restroom was also out of order. Not a good look especially if you have to go and may need to sacrifice next door at Starbucks. Since I had already purchased my coffee at a different business, I came specifically for their food. This is where I tried their "Farmhouse" bagel; this consisted of thick-cut bacon, ham, cheddar cheese, and pepper shmear on a six-cheese gourmet bagel. This was priced at around $8 + tax (as of October 2024). Even though there were several customers before me, my bagel was ready in a timely manner, roughly 5 minutes. As I mentioned, there was no indoor seating but ample outdoor seating. Since this area gets a ton of foot traffic and unfortunately, some of the homeless folks, your visit might be an unexpected one. I encountered a vagrant with his dog who was under the influence of something. But worst of all, he was smoking a cigarette in the enclosed seating area. Disgusting! That's when I took matters in my own hands and left to go inside of Starbucks. Overall, the bagel was delicious and packed quite a bit of bacon, ham, egg, and cheese for a filling breakfast. All in all, "Noah's NY Bagels" is a good safe place to get a delicious bagel; but to me, it's just average at-best. The staff at this particular location didn't really have much personality while they could care less of the riff-raff with homeless and solicitors that are vacating the exterior of the building. With that said and done, I am giving the Midtown Sacramento Noah's Bagels just an average three-star rating.

    Hot pastrami bagel

This is a tough one. Solely based on the food itself it was amazing... see my pic of my awesome hot pastrami bagel here. Her bacon, egg & cheese bagel she said was ok but slight... we ordered and I went to the Starbucks next store to get a coffee so we could sit & eat since Noah's doesn't have any seating... so I am admittedly getting the service experience second hand: the dude making the sandwiches was fine, but the mute girl behind the counter could not be bothered by anyone. It seemed like everyone was stoned, which works well if the guy is making you a sandwich, but for customer service not so much. I get that this is Sacramento but damn. The homeless people on the entryway was a little off-putting, but again, this is California. So for a great pastrami bagel to go, go for it.

We've stopped in a couple times over the last week to satisfy some bagel cravings. My husband loves their pretzel bagels with cream cheese. I tend to order bagels bagels with lox, so I got their Nova Lox Sandwich on an everything bagel during one of our visits. The cucumbers seemed watery and not crunchy and fresh, I ended up taking them off the sandwich. In general this is a solid spot for a bagel, especially if you're just stopping in for something simple.

My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. The bread had just gone into the oven, so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but I can't complain because it was baked fresh to order. Overall, I thought the sandwich was very good, but honestly not quite as amazing as people online had made it out to be. It was definitely good, but I don't know if I'd be dying to go back when I think Ike's, Mr. Pickle's, Corti Bros, and maybe even Nugget or Sprouts make more interesting sandwiches. To me, those places use slightly higher quality ingredients as well, though maybe I just didn't order the best sandwich here. Overall, it was a good sandwich and a good experience. My expectations were probably just a little too high. I wouldn't be dying to come back but also wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there for lunch.

Were these chips hand-carved by artisans somewhere? Blessed by monks in the moonlight? I'm genuinely curious. The bun, however, was enormous, so the overall experience was like eating a fluffy bread pillow with a whisper of sandwich somewhere in the middle. Honestly, the sandwich felt a bit like a mime, the idea of a sandwich was there, but the substance was invisible. I even wondered if maybe the fillings weren't hungry themselves. The workers have always been helpful and answered any questions about the menu or even helped with recommendations. The ambiance isn't anything special. You're probably not pulling out your laptop to do any work or catch a vibe there unless listening to music and sending emails in a sandwich restaurant is your thing. My go-to order is the Amuna's Tuna on Dutch crunch with everything on it except jalapeños. If you're feeling a little lucky, you can get a combo meal with chips and a drink. For starters, Ike's has its own way of doing things: plain mayo is not their thing. Only way to get plain mayo on a sandwich is to get lucky that there's a smidgen still left in a jar in the fridge after they prepare their house spread. They mix GARLIC and gawd knows what else for spices to make their Ike's sauce, so allergies beware. They offer plain mustard, but not plain mayo? For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. Fortunately I arrived when there wasn't another person in the store so I was able order up a plain ham and cheese sub with L, T, and A. The counter person was patient as I attempted to navigate the menu board. I communicated my wish for a simple sandwich and it arrived, albeit ridiculously overstuffed and above my budget expectations. Props for kindness and understanding. My first visit to any shop is always testing how well they do basics. So far, I'm not an Ike's fan. I'm no newcomer to sub sandwiches. At 82, and being a Massachusetts native, I've been a sub girl for at least 75 years, ever since I could wrap my fingers around the perfect sub roll.
