Sean was super helpful fixing a minor issue with my throttle on my 2012 Triumph Bonneville that was sticking. I had called ahead to inquire and I was able to walk in without an appointment when it was convenient for me to slip away from work. He was able to fix it in 20 minutes. I visited the store a few days ago. Yes, I don't look like your typical customer but anyone walking through the doors should be treated like one. I was totally ignored for a few minutes while the clerk was sitting behind the counter, talking to a guy who was sitting on the sofa in front of her. I was checking out the boots still without being acknowledged, until, I guess, she looked up and realized I was there (as if the opening of the door wasn't enough). I asked her about boots, she said about three sentences, then walked back to continue her conversation with the guy. Still no customer service while I walked around the store checking out the other items and most of them were NOT priced, which is really annoying, especially with such crappy customer attention. The guy ended up leaving and it wasn't until then that she came up to me and barely engaged in conversation. I won't be going there again because of that. As you can see, these guys have a great reputation on Yelp and my experiences there have been no different. Dennis is the owner and usually there most days. He is not only courteous and professional but extremely patient as well. They've got a great selection of Dainese motorcycle boots, gloves and gear. I originally stopped in to try out some new Dainese boots but unfortunately they did not have my size. Italians have small feet apparently. Dennis was very patient to help me figure out the exact side I needed and I was able to special order them without a problem. I also purchased a great pair of Spidi (Italian) gauntlet gloves. Again, had a size problem but Dennis was able to procure the largest size they made. He assured me that they should fit snug and might be a bit uncomfortable the first few days but they would stretch and fit perfectly. And I'm happy to say they are now the most comfortable riding gloves I've ever worn! The added bonus is these guys are right down the street from my house. In the past year, I have had the pleasure of owning a sports-touring bike - and you know what - I found the city lines just to confining. I started creating laps on Highway 101 from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and I realized that I needed gear to accommodate the ever changing temperature along the west coast. Reading reviews and listening to friends, I found myself in the shop of beach moto in early August 2010. The shop owner's name is Dennis. I was aimed at buying an expensive jacket to pair up with an expensive pair of pants in which a friend gave to me, however Dennis asked me about my requirements and pointed out a 4-weather jacket which was significantly priced lower. "Man, this guy is honest - awesome!" In a November trip going to San Jose, I remember using all three layers of the Sand Jacket (water-resistant membrane, second-layer insulation, and the main jacket) - and I was pleasantly warm and dry in a 45-degree downpour. Great jacket and great advice on what I needed in riding gear. As time went on, I made a few more additional trips to Beach Moto to ask Dennis on his advice on a Baja Mexico Trip, since he made that trip several times (for the Baja 1000 and once with his wife). Planning a trip with 3 other friends, I wanted to plan as much as possible, and Dennis gave me 45 minutes of his time just stating what was a "realistic" approach to the 1500-mile trip. He basically stated: "have fun, don't be in a rush, and stay off the roads at night". He also gave me suggestions on where to stay in La Paz. I really have to give thanks to Dennis for being patient, honest, and running awesome shop. Just purchased my first bike and felt like an absolute idiot riding around with zero protection. Living in Los Angeles, I knew my denim would probably save my hide for a millisecond in the highly likely event of one of these swerving, phone-to-face-glued individuals rocked my world by hitting me and decimating my beautiful Harley in a crash... So I figured it was time to put down on the investment of my life via some quality protection. I love to save money, I'll openly admit it, but something about purchasing these integral pieces of riding made me want to actually step into a local store. As soon as I walked in, Dennis's frank demeanor and no-BS attitude set me at ease. I was also extremely impressed by the fashion forward-stylish interior of the shop. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately pointed me towards a Rev'it jacket that was on close-out, which I doubted because of the price tag, (I still get whiplash from these prices, but just like tires, bed mattresses, and toilet paper - this is one area where you do not skimp), and he was completely right about the look, feel, and protection. I'm actually wearing it right now as I sit at home and type this review. He also put me onto Pando Moto jeans, which just defy quantum physics in their comfortability and protection. I was told about this shop by two biker friends of mine, so I checked them out when it came time to buy helmets, pants and a jacket. At first I tried shopping for that stuff online, but I didn't want to hassle returning items that didn't fit. It turns out that Beach Moto will match any online price, plus you get friendly, very knowledgeable sales people to help instead of guessing online. I took my wife there when she was ready to buy stuff as well and she really liked it too. Why would you buy from some faceless online entity when you can get the same price AND quality service? They also give discounts to people who have recently completed motorcycle school. When my helmet developed a problem with the sunshade, they shipped it back to the manufacturer for me and I ended up getting a brand new helmet because they couldn't repair the old one. I came here a couple months ago mostly looking for a new helmet to replace my old Scorpion one. I had been wearing a size Large, but Dennis measured my head and to my surprise told me I was a medium. He spent the time to go through all the helmet lines, and was patient while I tried on almost every helmet. (If I was going to spend $600+ on a nice helmet, I wanted to make sure it fit well). when I had finally chose the right one, they didn't have the color scheme I wanted, but Dennis special ordered it for me at no extra cost, and even price matched the helmet with revzilla.com or other major motorcycle retailers. In the end I ended up walking away with a new Arai helpmet, and Dainese leather jacket. My wallet was hurting, but at least I now know I have some of the best gear now.
