I am totally impressed with this place. I have lived 2 blocks away from this salon for 9 years and though a few people have recommended that I come here, I am a creature of habit and a loyal customer so I would drive back to Oceanside every 2-3 weeks for 10 years to get a mediocre job done on my nails despite the rapidly rising prices. Those days are over. I was walking home from the train station one day, badly in need of a mani/pedi and dreading my drive back to my old nail salon or trying a new place on park avenue and I popped into this salon. Yes, it's small and not that fancy...which kind of made me miss my old spot (I'm big on atmosphere) but the actual nail job was AMAZING. I went to Merry and I couldn't be happier. She understands how your nails should look without much direction, is quick and efficient while really giving the highest quality of service. She scrubbed my feet, cleaned under each nail, gently cut the cuticles and really made my feet look new! I received a spa pedicure and free manicure (Mon - Wed) for exactly HALF of the price of my old place. Price isn't everything...but they did a MUCH better job as well. One of my pet peeves a nail salons is that they pour nail polish remover into the bottles to stretch the nail polish...none of that here. The selection is small, so you might want to bring your own polish if there's a color that you want but at least all of the nail polishes are full quality. PROS: - Quick without compromising quality - Great scrub on feet - Cleans nails and does a great mani/pedi without much direction - Extremely well priced - Friendly, but not too talkative staff - Does not water down nail polish - No wait CONS - Atmosphere: a little bit small and not too fancy/luxurious (definitely a tiny price to pay for this service) I will definitely be back to see Merry as soon as possible and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Andy the owner screams at his employees in front of customers making it a very uncomfortable. He had no class or experience of how to handle a situation that may come up . He is a bully like his sister who was the worst she was crazier ! Contain your anger take that person aside away from customers and have a conversation you can get your point across without screaming like a maniac . The girls are all great work hard . Will try to only go when he's not there going forward . Love my tech but time to move on based on his behavior not cool . I don't think those girls know they have rights not to be treated like that. I have been coming here since forever. Very clean always polite. The staff are very good and my nails are always done perfectly. The color also always last. I recommend making appointments especially for the weekend!! Now with Covid they have a temp check and clean your shoes and make everyone use sanitizer when they enter. Had one short nail and the rest had ok length. Tech filed them down until ALL my underneath cuticles were exposed and painful and are now NUBS. I get wanting the same length for all but maybe ask before you go down to the point where it's not even fingertip length. All my other nails were past that. Gel was old and shitty and it is lumpy. Have gone this nail place before and everything always was good. Tried this place again, since it was a gel almost lasted for 2 weeks. Went last week and woke up to my nails discolored and bumpy. Called them after that Friday (went Wednesday before Thanksgiving so couldn't call until Friday am) and he said they would fix it. While there, the owner tried to tell me it was my fault (after 12 hours?) And fixed it anyway and left happy enough. Only for the same thing happen 2 days later. My nails are all discolored again...and chipping now and peel up and just a horrible job. So this is what I got for cheating on my usual place lol but horrible and the girls are usually nice. I tried to leave without tipping but as I asked for the ATM they said they'd just charge my card, I only wanted to tip the girl who did my brows but she asked the other woman if I tipped her so I then felt obligated. Got my extensions and SNS here which were fine but the extensions on 3 fingers fell off and/or cracked and one nail is actually bleeding. The glue under the extensions under my nail is also sticking out everywhere if that makes sense. When I went to get one my nails fixed they fixed quickly and as I waited for my nail to dry for 3 minutes as I was told, the man told me to leave and pointed to the door. worst nail salons ever. I went there on the morning of my wedding to get a manicure and pedicure and that was the worst experience ever. I walked in and they told me to sit in the pedicure chair and while waiting, there were 3 people folding laundry. They did not add water for me to let my foot soak and that went on for about 10 mins. when I finally asked what was going on, Lily came and began to work on my feet. she gave me a dry pedicure, which cut my foot pretty bad. when I called her out on it, she apologized. went on the do my hand and she was extremely rough. literally cut every finger I had. when I pulled my hand back, she said trust me and I stated that why would I since she cut me several times. The manager intervened and said wow, this is really bad and tried to fix my nail but they looked the same. Please do not go here. If you wind up with any issues, the owner will not even understand you so don't waste your breadth. One of their main people was so rude to my daughter, she walked out crying. She refused to do what my daughter asked and just patronized her telling her and the people sitting next to my daughter that "she knew better." Written from my phone as I walked out... Worst salon experience of my life. I just walked out while the technician was not paying attention and complaining about me. Owner started yelling at me that I should pay more because I was asking her to actually scrape my callouses instead of my arches. After being berated and threatened by the owner I got up and walked out while he screamed "FUCK YOU" at the top of his lungs. He tried to keep me inside and hold the door closed, but I was not going to stay and be chastised by that guy or stay for a service I wasn't getting. I've been getting mani pedis for 35 years and this horrific experience was a first. I understand this is a bargain mani pedi spot. Doesn't mean the technician gets to be incompetent, bitch about me in another language while I'm sitting there and complain because I wanted the job done correctly. DONT GO HERE.. Ever! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for over a year for SNS gel manicures. All the girls are wonderful and do a very thorough and detailed job of cleaning/shaping/and painting nails. Unfortunately since after COVID, I have noticed a difference in the quality of the powder and/or polish they have been using. After just days, the gel from multiple nails have cracked and chipped off, in which this treatment is supposed to last 2-3 weeks. I thought it was just me, but each time I have gone back for the same treatment with different nail techs, the same issue keeps happening. I've never had problems with Beach Nails but I went last Thursday to get a gel manicure. When I woke up on Friday, they had begun to chip and then by Saturday they gel was lifting off my nails and starting to peel. I went back Sunday asking them to redo them because gel is supposed go last 2 weeks -not 2 days- and they made me pay. Only after I had explained to them that it was unfair that I pay TWICE for ONE gel manicure did they give it to me for free. They were also extremely rude and I probably will switch to a different place. read more

I went here for a gel manicure, and I will NEVER go back and give them my business. I came in to get a gel manicure for a vacation I was leaving for the following day. First off, the gel manicure was more expensive than others I've gotten..they asked me for $25. Just for my hands. I obliged. I loved my color, I thought it was perfect. Within two days, yes 2, the polish started to chip. For those who don't know how a gel manicure is supposed to work...they're supposed to last AT LEAST UP TO A WEEK. AT LEAST. The following days the nail polish continued to chip as if it were a regular lacquer, not gel. I was bummed out and I felt ripped off. When I returned from my trip just 5 days after...I go and tell them my case to see if they can provide me with a re-do or anything. The man at the desk rudely tells me "Oh no no, we cannot re-do it for free, you should have come in sooner, I cannot do anything since you've come 5 days later". Ahhh, yes I was supposed to fly back real quick to come show you...sigh. I have to ASK (he did not offer) for them to take the shit job of a gel manicure off my nails. He almost charges me $5 for it. I laugh. He properly gives me that service for free. I felt ripped off, rudely accepted, and I was about to speak up to the other ladies in the salon that they should not waste their money at such a bad salon. I came here because Park Nails was being renovated. I was a walk in to get a fill in. I waited 10 minutes. I don't mind waiting. Andy, the owner, took me. While doing my fill in, he was constantly stopping, taking calls, doing my nails with one hand, on the phone, telling me Park Nails charges too little and that's why they have to renovate. I just want a damn fill in. I don't want a soap box manicure. He actually told me he charges two dollars more than them, but he does a better job. A better job?? It took him almost two hours. I live three blocks away. As i was walking home, in the daylight, I noticed that he completely filed down my nails to the point where the they are to the actual nail and they are actually fractured and warped.....and that's after putting on a gel nail polish! He was so negligent and too busy. I'm a very polite person. I go into a nail salon without necessarily wanted a million words thrown at me, however I'll take a nice conversation. His was neither shirt, nor nice. I was frustrated, and I left annoyed. I told myself I would never go back. I had to run to a train and did not have time to go back for a week or else would have gone back and dealt with them instead of having a different salon deal with them. I had a gel manicure done at this salon on Tuesday, 1/6/15 before going away on vacation by Thursday it had chipped and actually peeled off on some of my nails. Went back today 1/14/15 to let them know what happened and they told me they could do nothing since I waited a week!! Was I supposed to fly back from vacation to let them know their gel manicure sucked?? Gel manicures are supposed to last a good two weeks, that's why you pay $25.00. NEVER GOING BACK.
