We were blown away. We saw their Saturday night Fried Chicken special and decided to try it out and we will absolutely be back. The staff was so incredibly kind, being very cognizant of safety and keeping customers separated while they waited. The food was fantastic, probably the second best fried chicken I've ever had (1st was a pub in Philadelphia). The breading was crisy and full of flavor. The chicken was moist and tender. The sides were also a huge hit. My husband is rarely excited about a restaurant but said to keep this one on our list to return. read more

Celebrating my birthday at the Beachcomber is an annual event since I met my husband there and got engaged there. I love their menu and food. I had a salad with fresh fruit and chicken. It was delicious. The other people in my party had seafood or a vegetarian cauliflower rice/tofu dish. Their dishes were also good. Live in the area and drive by this place lots... finally stopped in one Tuesday for dinner. We ate at the Dockside Grill. The food was really good. I had pulled pork and my husband had a hamburger and fries. He raved about how good the hamburger was and I the pork sandwich. We both liked the crispy fries. We watched them playing sand volleyball and that was very entertaining. I'm not sure why we haven't stopped here before this. We had a good time. read more

What a great place to eat! My boyfriend had the Irish Lawyer which had lobster, shrimp and scallops was beautiful and he LOVED the dish. I had the Crab Cake dinner which had roasted potatoes, seasonal veggies and 3 crab cakes drizzled with Siracha Aioli...again, fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection and we even shared a brownie sundae! The price for our dinners, desserts, and coffee was very fair for what we ate. We had the best meal on Wednesday nite. Seafood was fresh and the Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Location is awesome with lakeside views! The food is mostly frozen or other prepackaged stuff. Little, if anything is made from scratch. I guess that is okay, though. You are paying for the location and view, not the food. The rating is for the lodging / rooms that are rented and not for the restaurant / pub. The room in itself is average and contains the necessity (queen sized, TV, fridge, microwave, bathroom) and was clean. There are no extras in the room like hair dryers, tissues or maid service. We stayed for 2 nights and nobody freshened up the room or provided clean towels. The rate was a little high without these types of services. The establishment is really a restaurant / pub with live music on both nights we were there. One night we ate in the restaurant and I would rate the food 4 stars. It was good. The 2nd night we grabbed burgers from the pub and they were from fresh meat and large. Mine was slightly raw, so I give it a 4 star. Bottom line is, appears the place to go to eat and drink. I would avoid paying the price for a room from here. read more

We went on Monday around 5:30 and ordered from the dockside grill since the restaurant isn't open. There was a young woman working the register and was helping to cook. When I ordered a man appeared and asked what menu I had because while fish tacos were on it, they do not have those. He wasn't apologetic, he acted like it was my mistake. This place is the only game in town and we couldn't get the kids in the car to go elsewhere so I decided to order anyway. I ordered burgers, wings, pretzels, and some other items. It took some time to make and when we got the food the garlic parm wings had no parm, one order of pretzels had no salt, and then my son's burger was bloody. I brought the half-frozen burger to them and the young woman apologized. A few minutes later I check the other burger and while it's not as raw it was still bloody. I brought that one up and the man interrupted saying that it was medium rare. I said that I don't eat frozen ground beef that rare and he argued that you can't get sick from it. I asked about e-coli and he said there has never been a case in NYS. I said I didn't want it that raw. It's not a good piece of meat but from a box of frozen burgers that were sitting there, on the counter. He took my partially eaten burger and put it on the griddle where other food was cooking. Gross. Then they brought it over to me. I didn't eat it. I was grossed out that they put something someone already bit and touched onto a griddle. Then there were gnats all over the uncovered lettuce and I was disgusted that the cook had the nerve to argue with me about an obviously cheap and poor quality frozen burger that he didn't properly cook. I can't speak about the restaurant since it was closed. It might be great! But I'd never order from the dockside grill. read more

Its a great bar but other than that I wouldn't get food there again I got sick from the food not very good

My recent visit to Beachcombers was a memorable one. I ordered the Dublin Lawyer abd it was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Owners are friendly as are the staff and customers. Parking is a challenge sometimes but that's what you get for being at the lake. All sorts of drinks and a new seafood menu. Came into town to visit family. Found myself in need of a hotel close by. The merchant was super fast to respond to my calls and very friendly. She was more then happy to accommodate me with very little notice and even made sure I was very well taken care of and the price was better then any regular hotel in or out of town! The room was very clean and cozy and probably has one of the best views on that side of the lake! The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and nice to work with. If I am given the opportunity I look foreword to staying here again!! read more

We've been here a couple times before and it was ok but this last time we were here really turned us off for good. 3 of the 5 of us ordered the "trash plates" and it really was trash. The burgers looked like sliders (apparently 3 oz each??) and we still paid $11 a plate which is what you'd pay for 2 six ounce burgers. The Mac salad is advertised for having shrimp in it and there was absolutely none. The owners son claims they put that on the menu for allergy reasons but why wouldn't they just warn there may be a shellfish allergy with the Mac salad instead of promising shrimp in the Mac. The seafood chowder had absolutely no seafood in it, just carrots. We talked to the guy running the place who was the owners son and he came up with nothing but weird and useless excuses (like he "has college kids cooking and they're pretty stupid." Exact words) and didn't offer us any solutions. The service was great but talking to that guy really did it for us. We're not going back and I wouldn't recommend it at all, especially since there's plenty of other restaurants/bars on conesus. read more

This place is horrible, I invited another couple to visit this place on Sunday May 28, 2017. To listen to the Zack Brown Tribute Band. We called the restaurant before heading out to confirm that the band was still playing. We were told they were and if we arrived early enough we would not have to pay the $12 cover fee. So the four of us decided to drive the 35+ miles. When we arrived we were then told that we would have to indeed pay the$12 entrance fee. We then tried to explain the recent phone conversation. We were then told that if we ate at either the Inside or outside restaurant we would be granted access free of charge. We proceeded in spending over $120 for our sub par meal that consisted of three burgers and one full entree. Upon finishing our meal we were denied free access to the music. We discussed our dismay with several people I charge and the head person in charge flat out lied and said she never stated we would get free access. Her only explanation was that she was sorry for any confusion and we would have to pay $12 per person. We again asked her why she was not being honest with us. She then stated that we could gain access for only $8 per person. Which was simply the pre order deal. This such disregard for customer service in light of all the other venu alternatives was unthinkable. The entire staff lied to us repeatedly. I will tell as many of my friends to not give this place any business as I can. The fact that they lied to us on several occasions was too much to bear. My hope is that the lost $48 of the entrance fee will be felt by them time and time again as I will never set foot into this place again. This restaurant had stained rug on the floor, the orders were wrong and the table service horrible. read more

My wife and I enjoy an evening of casual acoustic music. While perusing the Rochester paper for last Saturday's evening planning, we saw that the Beachcomber listing had acoustic music by Paul Killion. Though we live in Livingston County, we spend most of our free time in the Rochester area. Our visit Saturday was a nice reminder for us to go to the local restaurant more often. Friendly and attentive hostess, bartender and staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice low-key music. Seafood dinner was great! The chef even came out and chatted with the diners a few times. I hadn't known that the restaurant is open year round and we will certainly be visiting again soon. read more

We stopped at the Beachcomber on a Saturday afternoon. It has been a VERY long winter and this was a beautiful warm afternoon. The Beachcomber is on the south end of Conesus Lake. They have 3 separate boat docking areas and they all stayed full the entire time we were there. The hostess seated us and then seated a family of 5. She said the waitress would be right with us. The waitress went to the family table first and got their drinks and appetizer before even coming to our table. In the meantime the band was setting up the stage and the only way to get to the stage was right by our table. The gentlemen were all very polite and apologized a number of times for all the back and forth. My husband asked the hostess if we could move to a table in the sun (hoping for a different waitress!) and she moved us immediately. The waitress finally came over and asked if we were ready to order, at this point we had been sitting there for over an hour and had only been given 1 drink. We ordered and she disappeared again. She came back with the salads finally. They salad itself was ok, but the house dressing a balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. I ordered the Rosemary scallop skewers which were very good. My husband ordered the halibut stuffed with crab and he said his was excellent. The view, the sun and the food were all wonderful. Our waitress was horrible which is why I'm only giving them 2 stars. If she was new to the job it may be understandable but this was not the case. She was not aware of what any of the Chef's choices were and she was not very attentive. I guess if you are just going for drinks by the lake there wouldn't be an issue. read more

had carrot bisque, a wonderful flatbread with fried green tomatoes , micro greens , cheese and pretty blue flowers and it was killer. beer was served in cold glasses. bread with dinner was amazing. caesar salad was fresh, cold and perfectly dressed. hubbies fish fry and fries were perfect. service was spot on. We live in California and was visiting family. Stayed in the hotel rooms there and also had dinner! Excellent service and great food! The ossobucco and the surf and turf out of this world!
