JJ was very kind, helpful, and encouraging. He helped all of us with climbing, my six-year-old cousin cut herself (barely, but she's 6, so she was a dramatic!) and he bandaged her up, called her a professional climber, which got her to stop crying and encouraged her to get back to climbing (which she did). JJ also encouraged the adults to try, which was fun to see. I did one pass myself and only one because while rock climbing is fun, it's a workout!!!! I made it to the top though! Thanks JJ! We went on a Thursday before 3pm. It wasn't crowded. Affordable place to celebrate a birthday. We will definitely be back. It was a lot of fun!

While…read morechecking out the gym this evening my attention was diverted toward an aggressive altercation from the front desk employee toward a single mother of multiple children. This unstable employee verbally lashed out at the mom abruptly, yelling at her to either sign a waiver or get out, even when it was obvious that she was only dropping off her kids and never actually entered the climbing portion of the building. The mom, who probably just got off a long shift at work and was looking to give her kids a fun Saturday night, was distraught from the interaction and immediately left visibly shaken. The poor atmosphere brought on by the employee's disrespectful treatment of this hard-working mom has left a bad taste in my mouth and quite frankly, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

My first day, Dani was the team member who took me in and helped me get started. Always he has a great smile, encourages me to have fun and complete my project (hard circuits at the gym). I get very happy when I see him at the entrance because we get to catch up. When I get to the gym, I always ask for a pair of shoes and chalk and last time that I went to the gym, Dani saw me parking and had my shoes and chalk ready even before I entered the gym. Great team member, culture and customer service that the Knot has. 10/10. Coming to this gym is totally worth it.

There's a good variety of Auto Belay Routes, ranging from Eezie-Peezie to 5.10 and a reasonable Bouldering area. They recently opened a new steep, tall route that's a 5.8 challenge, with an interesting chimney route on it's back corner. My one exception is there's really no "changing" area; and climbers' relatives tend to take up all the seating. Also, kids are scampering around the climbing area, necessitating you to look down before you belay down. But in terms of sheer fun in a super clean, diversified venue; this place simply can't be beaten.

Here is my experience after cooling off from what I encountered today at Sensory Towne. From the…read moremoment we walked in this place, the owner was showing some passive aggressiveness off the bat. She informed me of all the rules. She proceeds to say there were no stuffed animals or toys allowed as my daughter was carrying a stuffed animal. So, I placed the stuffed animal in the bag and proceeded to walk in the play area. From that moment on, the owner literally was helicoptering over us reminding me specifically of "the rules". She never once stayed at her desk besides checking in a family. Instead, she proceeded to follow me and my daughter around and felt I had a target on my back for no rhyme or reason. She comes up behind me, scolding me like a child saying "MOM, drinks and snacks belong at the TABLES." She did this second time.This time, not even thinking honestly, I put my iced coffee on one of the tables that WASN'T allowed (God forbid.) And she comes up behind my shoulder AGAIN. Scolding me. We literally had NO room to breathe or get away from the owner as she just kept following me and every person around inside the play area. She then makes a remark about my daughter's diaper saying "it's falling out of her shorts..hahahah..." passive aggressively telling me to change her diaper. I already had a diaper in my hand when she said this and literally was done. Literally kept coming up to me and telling us how the equipment works and making comments...when all I wanted to do was ENJOY TIME WITH MY DAUGHTER. US. Not us and the owner. But I felt as if I couldn't take two steps in that place because otherwise she was RIGHT THERE on my shoulder..ready and waiting to say something I was doing wrong!! It was extremely uncomfortable and I felt extremely disrespected as a parent! Being scolded the entire half hour we were there, feeling like a kid in first grade is how she talked down to me. I proceeded to leave a review while there and she sees it, confronts me and I tell her its because she has been following us the entire time to the point of almost harassment. As I am sitting there after we spoke, I was telling my friend what happened. She then comes back..STARES AT ME...and I tell my friend, "See? She refuses to leave us alone." Almost laughing because she literally WOULD NOT STOP. We decided to go ahead and leave. As I am putting on our shoes she, from behind me at the front desk, called me ENTITLED. Who and/or what business OWNER says something to a customer out loud like that?? I have been to several different indoor play places in Jacksonville including the little social Cafe and the former nestling collective..and none were anything like we experienced here at Sensory Towne today!! The place was dim, dark, and grungy on top of the awful experience so we will not be coming back ever again.
