Absolutely terrible!! I have been wanting to try Beach Fire because of the cool fire pit out front. I joined Yelp just so I could review this restaurant! I'm so annoyed at myself for not consulting people's reviews prior to eating here. Please do not make the same mistake I did! First, the restaurant is overpriced, especially for the quality of food they serve. Now on to my specific experience... I ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich & my Mom ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs. (Let me qualify my review by telling you that neither my Mom nor I typically complain at restaurants.). My Mom's ribs were not cooked very well. She ended up sending them back & they still weren't great when she got them back. She said the taste was okay, however she said she has had better from the 99! That's so sad!! She ended up leaving a portion of them on the plate. My chicken sandwich's bun was completely soggy on the bottom. Additionally, the chicken itself was so salty! I ate about 1/4 of it and just could choke any more down. I order onion rings for a $2 up charge & that was a waste of money. They had a strange batter on them and I did not like how they tasted. The most disappointing part of our experience, as if that wasn't enough, is that after we told our waitress we weren't happy with our meals, she did nothing to rectify the situation!!! In hindsight, we should have asked for the manager, it was just that bad!! At this point, I will not even go back with my friends for drinks. Our Salmon was delivered basically raw and cold. It was sent back and our server told us that even the kitchen agreed that it shouldn't have been sent out as it was way undercooked and by the time the server came back with the salmon everyone else at the table at not only eaten but our entire table was cleared. We told our server that we no longer cared for the salmon and asked for it to be taken off the bill as the entire party had already eaten and was waiting to leave. The manager then came up to us (we thought he was going to apologize, nope!) and he says in a very unapologetic fashion that he was sorry about the salmon and he took it off the bill BUT "didn't get how we sent back the salmon and then asked for it to be taken off the bill" and that we had "wasted (his) salmon" we then told him that it had taken much too long and everyone was ready to leave. The manager blamed us for ruining their salmon and was extremely rude!! read more

The only reason I'm giving them one star is for the service. The waitress was very attentive, kind and friendly. It was a very long wait to get seated. We actually went up and checked to see how much longer the wait was (after almost an hour- we were originally told 30 min wait) and the hostess had clearly forgotten about us. She grabbed two menus and bolted to a table. Our appetizer, the fried mozzarella, was decent. Our meals weren't good at all. My boyfriend got a $30 steak that was barely edible and had no flavor to it. You certainly couldn't taste the difference of it being "smoked". One other thing- we were seated outdoors in the corner in the dark so we ended up having our meal in the pitch dark. Even the girl who brought out our food commented on how we couldn't see it. We were very disappointed with this restaurant. If you're looking for good bbq, skip this restaurant. read more

Not a good experience. I'll admit. We stopped to have a drink before WALKING back to out Airbnb. Place was DEAD, So we thought it would be ok to order fries for the kids and a couple drinks before heading home from a long day with the kids. We were told it was ok, twice after being questioned if "everything was ok". After my son sat on the rocks for literally 2 seconds, 3 waitresses (that should have been helping their tables, oh wait nobody was there!) came dramatically running out that he can't sit there. Ok. So then I got my check, still tipped our awful inattentive waitress, the hostess, that I thought was nice was also belittling my family, I get that some people wouldn't approve of us being at this place drinking with our kids, but they could have been more professional. Got takeout the night before, food sucked, still came back. MISTAKE. lesson learned. I'm sure this will be one of the many abandoned buildings/restaurants on route 1. Karma is coming for ya. Atmosphere was OK. Martini's and appetizers would be OK here. Dinner was just OK. BBQ half chicken was dry as straw. Steaktips I had were a tad overcooked. Mashed potatoes blended with bleu cheese sounded good, but it wasn't. Very bland. This was a great date night find! The décor was very cozy, and the host and our waitress were very nice and accommodating - even getting my husband a sample of one of the micro-brews they sell so he could decide if he liked it enough to get a glass. Nice place, Horrible food, Horrible Service and they wouldn't even turn the A/C on. My family and I went there on a Saturday at dinnertime. We figured with the season and tourist it would be busy. We ordered 3 Salads, A Veggie burger, Chicken fingers for one of the children and a lobster roll. The Server served one of the two children last, messed up on orders just a mess. We all kept composure and got our check we were blown away at the $150 food bill . My opinion..... next time I will pack a sandwich..... Such a cool place, great location and tons of potential. Good food and drinks. The two stars is for terribly slow service. After my wife and I finally got our order in we waited over an hour for two side salads and a buffalo wing appetizer. Everyone around us seemed equally frustrated. The wait wouldn't have been so bad if the waitress didn't walk past our empty drinks over and over again. I feel like if we ordered an entree we would still be sitting there waiting. So as long as you bring your patience it might be worth a shot. I wouldn't try bringing the kids though. After much anticipation a friend and I went to the Beachfire for dinner this past weekend, and we were highly disappointed to say the least. For starters it was a hot summer's night and the A/C was not turned on, even though all the windows were opened it still didn't provide a much needed breeze or ventilation. We waited 35 mins for our meals, they do not even offer any bread and butter/oil while you wait patiently for your meal. We ordered the Baked Haddock and Salmon dishes. Much to our disappointment the Salmon was over cooked and rubbery (and so much for an "Applesmoked" salmon), the overly baked and bland haddock was submerged in this oily substance that they tried to pass off as breading, the dried out mashed potatoes lacked any flavor what's so ever, and the vegetables were luke warm and tasteless at best. If we weren't so hungry, neither of us would have eaten our dishes, the only way my friend could consume her meal was to drench the haddock with lemon wedges and douse the mashed potatoes and veggies with salt and pepper as I forced the rubbery salmon down. I do not mind paying for what you get, but not in this case- we each paid $ 18 dollars for inedible meals that they wouldn't even dream of serving at chain restaurants. The presentation wasn't even the least bit in making up for the $18. They plated their food as if you were in a long line at a cafeteria. ** DISCLAIMER - THE ONLY REASON I GAVE IT 1 STAR WAS FOR THE JAZZ/BLUES BAND**,- However there performance will only entertain you but will not satisfy the appetite. We are local to the area and have always said we wanted to check out this place. Tonight we did and I am sorry to say, I left without eating a meal. We were greeted by a male host who then became distracted by pulling two waitresses aside to "discuss" some customers. After 10 minutes with no waitress, we asked the host if we had a waitress. A few minutes later we were approached by a waitress saying their was confusion as to who was our waitress. We ordered a couple of drinks, medium-well burger and pulled pork sandwich. The meal came out in a timely fashion, but my burger was raw. The waitress had them re-cook my same burger. When it came back out it was burned to the point of being inedible and without the onion rings(which the waitress said would be out later). At this point my husband had eaten his meal by himself at my encouragement, so his would be warm. No table visit from the manager. Poor service and bad food. Don't go! read more

We used to stay in Ogunquit yearly but now stay in Wells and had driven by this many times but had never eaten there but wanted to visit Ogunquit while staying in Wells so we decided to stop here this year and try it out. The previous 2 nights we had The Steakhouse in Wells and then Jimmy the Greeks. Steakhouse is expensive but worth every penny and Jimmy the Greeks left us disappointed after 2 failed attempts now to do well so we didnt know what to expect at the BeachFire Bar and Grille on 6/26/18. We were seated inside right away. Ordered Mozz sticks and nachos for Apps and the Nachos were awesome! Mozz sticks werent sticks but triangles. Those were for the kids in our party of 8 so they were disappointed right from the looks of them and not much more pleased with the taste but they didnt go to waste. Between the rest of us the meals were good overall. We ate the half rack smoked ribs, a couple had steaks, one ordered the steak tips/chicken tender combo meal (which is an awesome idea and never seen on a menu before) and one had a lobster roll. Fries were just ok. A bit limp and none were very hot. I thought the overall prices of the meals were a bit high for the "ok" quality and the atmosphere. Honestly, the prices were very similar to the Steakhouse in Wells so for the price i'd rather eat The Steakhouse in Wells an additional night. Another thing our party noticed was that the temp indoor seemed to go from very comfy from the time we were seated to very hot by the time we got our food to the point a few of us got bright red cheeks. Lastly, our waitress was a cute and friendly young blonde. Didn't get her name but she was very friendly. Still on the fence as to wheter or not i'd spend the kind of money it costs to eat there again or not. read more

We had dinner here for the first time on Wednesday. We ate inside by choice of my husbands. We were early so it wasn't too busy just yet. The music playing was a nice choice but a bit loud! My husband had the mix BBQ plate which he said was very good and I had the chicken parmesan which was two big pieces of nice smokey flavored chicken. I had a mango mojito for a cocktail which was a nice flavor but the mint was all through the drink instead of a sprig of mint so when you sipped through the straw you would get chunks of mint through the straw? read more

ok looks like i am the first reviewer for the new season. beachfire is the place to be!! ok yea, the fire is awesome, the staff is super friendly and the drinks are out of this world, but now - with some new kitchen staff, i must say i had multiple incredible dining experiences while in ogunquit in april. my first night, i just went in for drinks but decided to have some appetizers later on. amazing. go for the fried jalepeno ravioli, the nachos, and the lobster guac! i returned a couple of nights later to try dinner. this blew me away as well. their special soup was cream of mushroom, but unlike any i've ever had before! hints of apple and ginger! the new chef is a genius. i had some of the most amazing bbq for dinner that night. (the waiter said they smoke all their meats in house!) my girlfriend had the shrimp scampi and absolutely loved it. terrific portion sizes as well. we were so happy that we decided to come back the following morning for their first brunch! another great idea. $5 mimosas and bloody marys. i had homemade smoked brisket hash and eggs and my girlfriend had the blueberry pancakes. we left completely satisfied. the food is super-delciious!! and the prices are great. we cant wait for our next trip to ogunquit! read more

We chose BeachFire Bar & Grille because it was a walking distance from our hotel and had some menu items that were not conflicting our diet. What made me wonder was why we were asked to wait for a table when about 30% of the restaurant was empty. Once seated we noticed that it resembled Olive's Garden. Salads were below average, and crab cakes were fine. The staff was friendly, but could be a little more responsive. In overall, the meal was worth the price. read more

Were told we had a 45-minute wait (which was OK), but then the hostess gave us a lecture on where we could and could not sit in the meantime. Decided we didn't need to be scolded as if we were misbehaving 6-year-olds (we hadn't sat anywhere). Well if you like tough ribs, brisket that has more fat than meat and pulled pork that is uniquely dry (like it was sitting under the heat lamp for longer than it was smoked) then this is the place for you. Oh, and if you like a side of under cooked sweet potato fries and baked beans that have a strange briney flavor then again this place is for you. This restaurant is terrible, do not go here. The meals are overpriced and cooked horribly. It started with stale nachos for appetizers and badly mixed drinks. When we requested new nachos, they brought back the plate and said nothing was wrong with it. Most of the table complained their foods tasted like it was microwaved which would make sense because we had our meals within 10 minutes of sitting down. The waitstaff was cluesless and the food horrible. At 18-20 dollars a plate, the food is overpriced and bad. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The BeachFire is a great place. Super food and a fun place to have a meal, or just stop in for a drink. The crowd is always friendly and the staff is very helpful. My wife and I always stop by when we're in the area. You'll find a menu packed with variety, not just run of the mill tourist food. Considering the number of locals that hang out at the BeachFire on a regular basis, they are consistently good on a daily basis. Terrible. We ordered nachos for an app and after a couple of bites, I thought they tasted minty. Then I found out why. The next mouthful of chips, cheese and jalapeños included a chewed up piece of wintergreen gum. I did all I could not to vomit. We got the waitress and calmly told her what had just happened and she basically denied it was gum as did the manager when he was brought over. I am not so sure why this has so many critical reviews. I have been here twice now. Most recently I got the surf and turf, and my wife had the chicken / steak tips. Everything was delicious. The tips were tender and the fish / chicken was great. Our server was attentive as well. After a long day on the beach, this is a really decent place to go...especially if you eat outside. read more

We enjoy BeachFire at least three time each summer when traveling to Ogunquit. We have yet to have a bad meal and feel that the staff is the friendlies around. My experience was rather disappointing. The waitress looked like she didn't really care about our table. She kept going to 2 different (white) tables next to us to ask them how they were doing. She only came to our table after we signaled for her to come over. I ordered a burger ($18) and a margarita. The margarita was awful. It was loaded with the mixer and didn't taste quite right. I ate half of the burger which wasn't all that and when it was time to leave, I forgot the burger on the table. When I got outside, I remembered that I had left the burger and went back to get it in less than 1 minute. I found a male server cleaning the table and I asked him where the burger was. He literally went to the trash and got the burger and handed it to me!! Who does that? If I wasn't paying attention, I would have taken the burger and ate it later. When I asked him why he took the burger from the trash he said "sorry about that" and he put it back in the trash, then he continued cleaning the table. I tried talking to the lady upfront but she cared less. I left because I didn't have the energy for a confrontation and I had a place to be. I will never eat at this restaurant again. read more

It was the last night of our vacation in Ogunquit, and I wanted our dinner to be special.. I chose the Beachfire because of the great reviews. Even though I made a reservation, we waited over 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the house wine, and both my husband and I ordered the Beach BBQ, which according to the menu was sirloin tips, chicken brushed with blueberry harbanero glaze, and 1/4 rack of ribs. The waitress told us the meals came with 2 sides. It was over a half hour before our meals were served. The first thing I noticed was that my plate had pulled pork, no sirloin tips. I asked the waitress about it and she said that the meal did come with pulled pork. Well, we asked to see the menu and it did indeed say sirloin tips. The chicken on my plate did not have a blueberry glaze, just very dry pieces of chicken. My husband asked for the manager to visit our table and he said that the waitress had entered our order incorrectly. We ate our meals, because at that point we had been waiting well over an hour and were hungry. Never were we offered anything in consideration of the mixup. The waitress did not apologize until she brought the bill, we were not discounted anything for the mixup and in fact she upcharged us for the sides, which she had told us came with the meal. Very, very disappointed with this place. Food is so so, menu very pricey. Oh and by the way there is no "Beach" and the "Fire" is a fire pit on a busy main road. Don't eat here. read more
