Awful experience. I brought my water bottle into the restaurant and was approached by the "manager/owner" after we had already been seated and ordered a drink, who told me I had to "put it on the ground". we have eaten at MULTIPLE other establishments in the area, none of them high were so rude and inhospitable. We did not eat so I can't comment on the food but it looked like standard frozen pub food. we will absolutely not return! read more

This was right across the street from our hotel so we actually came here twice. It's fairly reasonably priced for the area and the wait isn't terrible. The haddock and chips was good. Fish was cooked well and the pieces were quite thick. Large portion. Seafood chowder also has a generous about of seafood. Barely any potatoes. Staff are friendly. Parking lot is fairly big The place does have a lot of old decor, and the clientele are generally on the elderly side. read more

Best. Nachos. In. Maine. End. Of. Story. I go there every Friday, and always order the nachos with chicken. They are like a drug to me. I'm not even exaggerating. The service is always great, and the food is always great. We live close by, so we can smell the steak tips grilling and just follow our nose over there like a cartoon smelling an apple pie on a window sill. Sometimes a wait in the summer, but that's a good sign, no? Cool inside, with tons of Boston sports memorabilia and a game on pretty much every one of their 15+(?) TVs. Honorable mention orders: -Nachos -Burger -Steak tips -Baked stuffed shrimp -Prime rib -Chicken parm (pasta or sub) -Hear me out, the side salad (???) -Fried haddock (as is or via sandwich) -Pretzels with cheese -Stuffed mushrooms -Again, the nachos I honestly could just copy and paste the menu here, but that's already available online. With a 4.5 star rating I was very much looking forward to my meal here. Ugh... Every place has an off night or two, for many reasons. Our visit coincided with rush hour, so I can imagine waitstaff and the kitchen were overwhelmed with orders and getting drinks and food out to tables. We were seated fairly quickly, opting for a hightop near the bar. Not a bad experience there. But the bar stools are not very generous in the seating area;we still managed to be fairly comfortable. My meal consisted of a chicken wing starter and cheddar burger cooked medium well with VERY well done onions. My dining guest ordered haddock with potato and veg. Chicken wing starter was accommodated nicely by splitting the order into Buffalo sauce and honey bbq. We appreciated that. The wings themselves were lackluster and dry, with little sauce on either side. The taste was okay but they were rather tough. The cheeseburger was rare, very rare. Hard to eat a rare burger. The onions were maybe sweated for a few minutes but not dark and caramelized as explicitly requested, and certainly not cooked. I did let the staff know that this is what I was concerned about when I reiterated that I only want them extremely well done... I did not send them back because I could very easily see the restaurant was very busy. My guest's fish was dry and her potato not completely cooked through. The green beans were crunchy and hot. The service was friendly but not personable, which is understandable given the amount of other customers waiting. Drinks came out fast enough and I really enjoyed the local lager. We may give this place another try later on. But if we do and my order isn't correct I will request a correction. For the amount spent it ought to be closer to delicious than necessitating a mediocre review. read more

As far as I'm concerned, Stutsey's is a hidden gem in the area. There are plenty of other places in the area where you can get a great meal, but this place offers very similar seafood options for a very fair price. I've been here a bunch of times over the years and the staff has always been great. Some of my favorites are the Seafood Combo (haddock, scallops and shrimp baked in a buttery Ritz cracker crust), the surf n' turf and the Buffalo wings. You can't go wrong with whatever you order and you'll enjoy it in a nice, laid back atmosphere. Keep it up Stutsey's Pub, you're on a roll! read more

We came here one evening recently and sat at the bar for dinner. It was just before the mask mandate was lifted. It's basically a bar/pub atmosphere, but the food is pretty good. I wasn't terribly hungry so I ordered a garden salad and a bowl of baked onion soup. The salad was basic--greens, cuke, onion, tomato and croutons-- but crisp and fresh, and the balsamic vinaigrette dressing was tasty. The soup was very good and hit the spot. My partner ordered seafood marinara and really enjoyed it. The portion was quite large and he had enough left over to have for lunch the following day. If you're looking for a place for a quick bite, and don't mind the pub atmosphere, come here! You won't be disappointed. read more

Been awhile since I've been here but glad I made it this time around for our trip to Wells. Great spot to watch the playoff games as there are TVs everywhere. Service was great and food was spot on. Got the boneless Buffalo wings and pretzels as appetizers and both were fantastic with the pretzels and dipping sauce arguably being the best I've had. Only thing stopping me from 5 star review was the steak tip sub. Not for quality because it tasted amazing, but could have used a few more tips in the sandwich to balance out the ratio of meat to bread. We were hungry and didn't feel like preparing a meal, it was getting late. Because of the covid changes, places are closing early. Tourism is way down. Because my guy was a regular there for years, they were happy to prepare food for us last minute. I had the broiled scallops and haddock, with the veggie of the day, zucchini and summer squash. He had the nachos. I enjoyed my fish dish and it was fresh, but it was a bit bland. I LOVED the nachos! I took pics, but need to find them to add to the review. I'd definitely eat here again, but I'll get fish elsewhere. They even have a truly decent gluten free menu! The pub food is great! read more

A great casual pub for a chilly fall evening. Stutsey's offers one of those menus that has 'something for everyone' and in addition to the menu, also has specials. We went on a Saturday and Prime Rib was the special. The restaurant and bar do fill up, so although we did have to wait, it was quick. The menu offers fare including appetizers (skins, mozzies,etc), wings, salads, burgers, fried or baked seafood dinners, pasta dishes, steak tips, and sandwiches. They offer a full bar, though they didn't mixed drink menu- but you aren't going here for ~cocktails~ Sports memorabilia lines the walls where the tvs aren't, so this is the place to kick back, drink beer, and enjoy some well made hot pub fare. Not a fancy place, but really good food. I had the baked stuffed haddock which was delicious, one of the better baked stuffed haddocks I have had. The seafood stuffing was exceptional. The side baked beans were surprisingly good. My husband raved about the fried haddock he had, and my friend said the baked stuffed shrimp are the best she has ever had. Was up to Ogunquit for a night stay and was heading out to grab a bite to eat. I always refer to Yelp for reviews and somehow missed this one as I was on my way to another restaurant. I noticed the quite full parking lot and did a quick search in Yelp for reviews and was then assured this will be the place to dine. We arrived around 5:00 and was seated right away. The atmosphere was very nice and they had many big screen tv's which would make a nice venue to watch a Patriot's game. Our server was very friendly and attentive and gave us her opinions on the yummy menu options. We opted to just do a few appetizers which were all home runs. We got the Coconut Shrimp which was done to perfection, boneless chicken tenders which were very fresh and had a very tasty and light batter. We also got some onion rings that were fantastic as well. Definitely would make a trip back to this restaurant again when in the area. A big thank you to our server as I wish I had her name to give her a shout out. Came in around 6pm on July 3rd, and stayed across the street. Checked out the local reviews on yelp, and decided that this place would suite our needs just fine. And it did! Atmosphere- I liked the exterior design, and when we walked up, the entire lot was full, including cars parked on the lawn. Upon entering, we were greeted by a waiting area, bar on the right and tables opposite and on the far side from the entrance. Had high ceilings on the far side. Turned out there was an upstairs that had a lot more space, but was dark and closed off. Bar was busy, good mix between older people and younger families, happy mix. Lots of tvs. Not on the level of Buffalo Wild Wings or a similar place, but enough to get the job done. Had plenty of Boston sports stuff hanging on the wall, as well as some Laker stuff? Not sure about the laker connection, but anything C's was not present. Service- got a drink at the bar for my partner since it was a 35 minute wait. The bartender wasn't rude, but you could tell he was used to tending bar when it's packed and maybe a younger crowd? Not rude, but definitely all business and to the point. Good value on the drink price. Once seated, our server seemed harried and stretched thin from start to finish. I get it. It's Maine, it's busy season. I think there were two hostesses and two servers for the whole place. She tried, but just a warning to make your FaceTime with your server count. You need a refill? Get ready to flag her down. Can't blame her, but maybe they are usually more staffed. Product- as expected. Had the appetizer sampler, and the bbq bacon burger. Fair value, no muss, no fuss. Met our expectations. read more

Busy place for a Saturday night. We waited what seemed less then what was told to us. Very, very nice and friendly server. Everything we ordered came to our table on time. We ordered baked haddock, broiled haddock and fried shrimp. Our meals were very tasty and the haddock was fresh and cooked perfectly. There was a very warm and inviting vibe as soon as we walked in the door on a Friday evening. We were able to sit at the bar and eat. The bartenders were awesome! A lot of regular customers seemed to be there and gave great advice on what to order...stuffed mushrooms for an app we SO GOOD! I had the haddock sandwich and everything was so fresh. We stopped in here for dinner and drinks on a Friday night after a recommendation by our hotel front desk staff when we asked for a sports bar in the area. The place was packed, and we were told by the really polite hostess (felt like an owner) that we'd have a 30 minute wait for a table. Not deterred, we saddled up to the bar while we waited. We got two drafts of the local brews, after suggestions by the bartender (also felt like an owner). They don't have a ton of televisions, but what they have are well placed, and the bartender was very kind to put the out of town baseball game on for us. He was very welcoming to guests and his regulars there on a Friday night. The hostess came to find us not 10 minutes into our beers and told us that they had a table available early, which worked out great. The bartender then changed the TV closest to us to match the game we were trying to watch, an unnecessary, but much appreciated move. Service was top notch (server was Michelle). Food were large portions - half order of nachos was more than enough for an entree. Husband had the seafood chowder, which he raved about. Also the steak tips, which were cooked perfectly to order. Though this was our first night in town and we intended to make it a quick night after our long drive, we found the atmosphere to be perfect. We'll likely be back another time during this trip, as we had that much fun! The little things on how to run a great restaurant/ bar were done, and it showed. Went for a visit in Maine and thought this was a nice Pub - Resturant. The menu had specials & some variety not just five things . The lobster roll was reasonably fresh and priced and the drink -size was fair to , full glass. Only downside on lobster -roll is you have to pick between coleslaw or French fries ..can be a tough choice . Typically get both like at the 99 Restaurant, a bit stingy with that . You also get a salad with entrees if your not into the greasy thing . The service want too slow or too fast and the bathrooms were nice and clean . Comfortable atmosphere & good television quality . Good food, a great atmosphere and friendly people - both the servers and fellow patrons. It's obviously a local favorite based on the number of people who stopped by other tables to visit with each other on their way in or out. We are visiting from VT and this place seemed very cozy. I had the nachos and ordered a side of fries with +50 cents per extra sauce (not made in house). This was obviously fine. The fries were not the greatest and we're from the freezer. My fiancé ordered fried shrimp and they were ok. Not enough tarter sauce was provided, unfortunately, and we didn't want to pay an extra 50c for more. The lighting was too dim and it was VERY loud (pubs are typically loud, I'm aware) - but the acoustics were horrible. Not recommending based on not so great food / atmosphere. My fiancé and I have been coming to Maine and for some reason we have never eaten here before. We looked through yelp and found out about this restaurant. We loved it. They have a lot of variety of meals to order from. I got the baked onion soup with a baked potato. So delicious! We went for a light meal not something too heavy and it was perfect. My fiancé got the chicken wings and salad!!! He devoured all of it and boy he is a picky eater. (Lol) We will def be back soon. Thank you helpers for helping us find this sports bars. For those of you who love sports it's perfect. They have a bar when you walk on and tables in the back and to the other side of the bar. Not bad. I didn't have high expectations for pub food but parts of the meal were pretty good. The New England clam chowder was very good but my wife felt the cream in the seafood chowder "tasted strange". For dinner I had the broiled scallops and my wife had the haddock. Both were fine but just not the best we've ever had. That's not a complaint as we knew we were eating pub food. For the price you get what you pay for is what I am saying. The staff was exceptional and very friendly. Overall if you are looking for a fun pub with average food, this is the place to go. read more
