Excellent sit down restaurant off of Route 1 in Wells. Amazing delicious fries of all kinds, cheese, buffalo, etc. smash burgers, beer and cocktails too. They have an outside deck which is super cute. Wait staff so great and friendly food is very good. Worth a stop in.

New joint in town! Loved the seating arrangements, the chairs are wide and comfortable! Good servers and the chef served some of the dishes too. Good food, loved the sauce that came with the burger and the house chips. The salad was good but not worth the price for a whole salad, more of a side salad IMO. Will go back ! Parking is limited, we got lucky with the last spot !

Didn't live up to the reviews for me. Prob would've gone 3 1/2 stars if available. Paid extra for the duck fat fried which somehow came out soggy. Burger was average to me. Service was good however. Not sure if I'd return.

This place absolutely crushes! The food is off the charts. They have smash burgers, steaks and seafood also weekly specials that are amazing and very creative! The duck fat fries are out of this world! The drinks are hand crafted and delicious! The service is top flight and the Chef owner Norm is always around to say hello to his customers! This resturant is small but packs a huge punch! You will not be disappointed! * Almost everything is GF or can be made GF

    Caesar salad with chicken

Absolutely the best gluten-free fish and chips in Maine. Caesar salad with pan sear chicken was also excellent, could've used a few anchovies on the side. Cocktails a bit pricey at $12 for Tito's and soda. The chef is often in the dining room and checks on customers to see how they enjoyed their food. He even runs food out of the kitchen when it gets they get backed up. Ambience is cozy because it is very small. Indoor space. They do open their outdoor patio tomorrow. I've been a Maine a week and they have eaten there twice already. Love it!!

The staff were efficient and friendly, and everything came out fresh. Congdon's has a really nice variety of donuts, muffins, and other baked goods, and everything we tried was delicious. The blueberry fritter was the star crisp on the outside, soft inside, and packed with blueberry flavor. I would absolutely recommend it. They also offer a sit‑down breakfast with classic options like breakfast sandwiches and French toast, so it's a good spot whether you just want coffee and a box of donuts or a full morning meal. Overall, great service, excellent donuts, and definitely worth the short wait. We'll be back next time we're in the area!

We ordered a half dozen donuts to try: the maple glazed, chocolate glazed, strawberry frosted, chocolate creme filled, glazed, and a blueberry fritter. The fritter was the favorite of the group, followed by the maple (iconic Maine flavors!) We would definitely skip the chocolate and the strawberry frosted next time and opt to try some other fritter flavors.

What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. When I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he brought the crème brûlée out with a candle and two other staff members to sing to him which was so sweet. We will definitely come back here next time we're in town!

We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu.

I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.

My Mom ordered a cup of chowder, thank goodness she didn't order the bowl because she said it was absolutely awful. To be fair, their menu does explain how theirs is different from typical chowder. My Mom said it was really watery and had no flavor. Luckily she also ordered some shrimp, whichi took a while to come out but were great. I ordered the chicken breast plain sandwich with no tomatoes, fried, and a side Caesar salad with blue cheese dressing. They brought it out with the tomato, good thing I am not allergic to tomatoes. The sandwich was great, tons of chicken and it wasn't too dry. I learned about "buckie" rolls and that they are soft and break easily. I ended up eating my chicken with a fork!! I needed more dressing and the server didn't bring in a timely fashion, the lettuce being wilted by the time she brought it. The pickle on the plate was good, but the fries were just OK. We were able to get a window seat in the bar, which made for a nice start to our Maine vacation. I would come here again, and would probably order the same thing. The place is order at the counter and there is table seating with blue metal chairs and booth back seats and high top tables with stools, spread out more than their other locations, Exeter seating area is cramped. I made two visits to Lee Frank's over the past two weeks. On the visit last week, I ordered a loaded (not dirty) Cheeseburger ($6.25 plus tax), Red Baron Hot Dog ($4.75 plus tax), Chili Cheese Fries ($5.50 plus tax), and a Special Tropical Punch Shake ($5.50 plus tax). My food was ready in about 10 minutes after ordering and brought out by staff on a tray. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Dirty Style Cheeseburger ($7.50 plus tax) and Dirty Style Fries ($4.75 plus tax), this time through the Toast app. My order was all set in about 7 minutes. I enjoyed my food in shop both times. The Red Baron Dog was loaded with red cabbage & brown mustard over grilled hot dog which had a snap to the bite in a soft hot dog bun. The Cheeseburger was grilled well done beef patty with melted American cheese with plenty of mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles on a soft bun. The chili cheese fries had golden crinkle cut fries topped with cheese sauce and meat chili. The tropical punch shake was thick and sweet, which was a vanilla shake mixed with Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast, topped with green jimmies. The dirty style loaded cheeseburger and dirty style fries were both very messy and the addition of the house sauce and the sweet sauteed onions is a real game changer.
