We just went to this place for my 40th birthday celebration and it was quite the experience! Our husbands were first reprimanded by the waitress for going up to the bar, because anywhere they go they like to meet the bartender and sit for a second. Then the waitress told us that she would split my kids meal personally because they won't do it in the back...it didn't happen. She was extremely short with us the entire time. My brother ordered crawfish and oysters and said "bring those out first". Alllllll of the food came out. Appetizers and everything at the same time. Except for the crawfih.... so my brother politely said just cancel the crawfish. Multiple employees came out talking about the cancellation then a head guy, not sure who he was, came out upset that it was cancelled explaining that we had to take it. We took it to go and paid for it. GREAT FOOD, but horrible service. They automatically added gratuity but it's ok! We left you even more. We are leaving a 5 star because we aren't in the business of hurting others. We Just think you should work on the experience! It's a tourist town with people celebrating special events. read more

The fried calamari was a great way to start off our meal. Our mushroom Swiss burgers were absolutely delicious! The buns were very soft and sweet which we happen to love. We came down for a romantic sunset dinner and drinks over the beach to celebrate. Unfortunately no one was Covid-safe, and this was pre-vaccine. No staff, no customers. The angle on the patio is sort of odd - the sun sets behind the building unfortunately, so, not really a place for a sunset drink. The inside was too unsafe, so we didn't spend time in there. Just generally felt uncomfortable. But, maybe it's fine post-pandemic... if there is a post-pandemic... which requires... Covid-safe choices. read more

Grilled catfish was so good and onion rings. Husband liked his grilled shrimp tacos too. Service was great but salad was forgotten. Charging for credit card payment was a put-off to the end of a nice meal. Only second time we have been charged that in Houston/Surfside/Galveston area. You have to pay for water also as they said they did not have unsweet tea (diabetic here). I know the water tastes ucky in Surfside but the other places have it and with lemon it is ok. Wow! We haven't been to Beachfront recently, but went to their brunch this past Sunday morning and enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner. I got the Redfish. It was good-seasoned well. The dips on the side were not good (cocktail and tartar, I'm guessing). But the fish was perfect without any sauce. The fries made my tummy hurt but I do have tummy problems. My guess is it's breaded (gluten). I also got the loaded mashed potatoes which was good. The Redfish came with a ceasar salad which was also good. I tried to order ceviche but our waiter said they don't serve it anymore. The menu is different from the pictures on yelp now. The service was fine. It took a long time to get drinks, but it wasn't the fault of the waitress. We got crawfish because we had heard good things. Apparently the owner's wife started cooking them today. They were overcooked, EXTREMELY fishy, and not even close to 3 lbs. The waitress took it back when we said something (we only had tried 3 single crawfish). As she was walking in, she let the owner know, and he said he would only take 1/2 of the price of the crawfish off but no more. Even though it was pretty much inedible and he had hardly eaten any. There were sanitizing wipes as you entered and social distancing was being observed (there is plenty of room to spread out) The owner came by multiple times to check and make sure everything was going well. Came here today and had a delightful experience. I sat outside and had a great view of the beach. Not too many people here. Service was really good and waiters was very attentive. The bathrooms are clean and the food was delicious. The Calamari has cheese on it which I felt was not needed and took away from the flavor of the dish. The beachfront burger was delicious and I have no complaints on it. I do feel my experience was a great one, but keep in mind I came in off-peak beach season. Good food and atmosphere with tons to do from hammocks, swings and beach activities on the lower level while upstairs provides for great music with indoor/outdoor views. Do not go by the restaurant's website for food options or pricing . I had lunch at this restaurant with a very large group . I was shocked to see that the prices on the actual menu were double or more from what we saw on their website . We had no option but to pay them . We are a retired seniors group and most on limited incomes . The service was haphazard, and the waitresses had no knowledge of the menu options when asked questions nor had eaten them themselves because of the cost . If you plan to use a credit card at this restaurant, plan to pay an additional 4% . The food was good. However, the condiments and silverware had to be requested after the food was served. By the time it was all said and done, I paid $28 for a hamburger, onion rings, and a drink. The best part of this experience was facing the water and enjoying the waves of the day . read more

My husband and I went down to Surfside to spend sometime walking on the beach and enjoying the ocean before the summer crazy started. Before making our drive back home, we decided to stop at the Beach Front Deck Bar & Grill for drinks and an appetizer. The view was amazing. You're so close to the water you could actually feel the building shake from the wind. My first stop was the bathrooms which are outside of the restaurant and around the building almost like gas station bathrooms. The stalls in the bathroom are so small that the old woman in the stall next to me actually had to open the stall door to be able to pull her pants up. I ordered a Melon Ball and my husband got a beer. The Melon Ball was extremely sweet and very low on the alcohol content. For a $8 drink, I would have hoped their had been a splash more alcohol than there was. We also ordered calamari which was okay. read more

Watched our server serving other people and doing random things for about 10 mins before bringing us silverware, AFTER bringing us our food. Brought us a draft beer missing 1/4 of it for some reason and said "the next one will be full." Had to chase them down to get anything and wait around for a receipt after paying. Extra 4% charge if you use a credit card. Food prices are high and not worth it. "Frozen" piña colada was completely melted. Only restaurant in the area that charges for water. Wouldn't recommend. We had a good meal here. Service was slow, but nice people. We had crawfish, as they were in season, and they were excellently seasoned! My only gripe was that our appetizers took way too long to come, but they were good when they did finally arrive (seafood nachos & fried appetizer combo). The shrimp and grits was really nothing to write home about. It was pretty bland, and did not have the "full of flavor" seasoning that you come to expect when ordering shrimp and grits. Nothing like you would get in New Orleans, or any Texas Cajun restaurant. It started sprinkling while we were sitting outside on the uncovered deck, and the waiter didn't come check for awhile to see if we wanted to move inside, or come to see if we wanted our check so we could get out of the rain.
