Everyone from the front desk staff to the folks helping with the pre-appointment screening were friendly and helpful. They recommended the retinal scan and dialysis but didn't push for either and accepted my no with a friendly, "Ok no problem!" My appointment was with Dr. Janay Sekhon, O.D. and she was super perky and friendly. She would be great to take your kids to. She made me feel completely comfortable and explained every single thing she was doing. She answered all of my questions so that I understood clearly, and was extremely thorough. To the point where she recommended I see my doctor about my cholesterol. Since I didn't opt for the retinal scan, she did an extra check and notified me of no other health issues that she could see. It took me an hour and about 35 selfies to pick my frames. The girl that was helping me, Hilda, was VERY nice. I shooed her away several attempts to help and then finally, on the 3rd check in with me, she offered to help because I was obviously having trouble deciding. Hilda selected a few frames that I hadn't seen yet (they have a small but great selection) and I finally settled on a pair. When I went to check out, she gave me the benefits of some upgrades, but never pressed me to purchase anything. I felt very comfortable with the transaction. Today (the day after my appointment) I scrolled through some of the selfies to check them again now that I'm not feeling pressured to pick something (my own pressure, not theirs) and decided I liked a different frame better than the ones I bought. So I called Hilda on my lunch break and she was able to put my purchase on hold so I can change my order. No problems. Overall I've been very happy with them though I have found that nobody there is really great at fitting the frames properly when you pick up. Lens Crafters is better and I've had to go there after 2 attempts to have my glasses fitted here. read more

Went to Beachside Optometry for the first time, on referral from my GP. I found the practice to be clean, modern and the staff friendly. I saw Dr, Germundsen, and found him to be very personable as well as knowledgeable. The prices for glasses I found to be competitive with practices twice the size, and the staff was very friendly. More than six years ago my girlfriend recommended me to Beachside Optometry and my experience has been nothing less than amazing. In addition to the professional office and excellent optometry Dr. Germundsen and hsi staff provides; this is must stop for anyone interested in the Lasik procedure. Long story-short; I have a challenging prescription and have worn glasses since the first grade. I never thought contacts would be a possibility for me... and now, thanks to Dr. Germundsen, I have nearly 20/20 vision. Even writing these words I still don't believe it. It is incredible to me the differences in approaches between doctors in general. One really needs to research every medical decision with care. "Thank you" is not enough to describe my experience. GREAT SERVICE!!! I went there for the first time yesterday and I have to say that this group was EXCELLENT. Every person in that office was attentive (and I mean super attentive), professional, polite, and HELPFUL. I just received a follow up call from Yoomie who is simply the BEST. Girl deserves a raise. She was full of information, super quick busting out those math skills, stayed late to help me, and was extremely sweet the entire time. I must have tried on every pair of glasses (which they have to gather and disinfect due to the virus) and at no point was Yoomie, or anyone else, bent out of shape about it. I went here today for my eye appointment. I was very pleased with my eye exam and consultation. The have a medical device called Optos that gives the doctors a clearer view of your eye tissue. It is painless, they just take pictures of you eyes for review. I highly recommend having this done. They also have color contacts, which I wear and a wide variety of classy looking glasses. read more

I've been going to Beachside Optometry since I was a kid! Dr. Germundsen has seen me through gas permeable contacts to soft lenses and glasses along the way too. He is so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable and makes you feel really comfortable during your exam. The office staff is also just as great. I don't have insurance so I pay everything out of pocket, but whenever I have an appointment I always ask for an estimate beforehand and it is always accurate with no surprises, which I really really appreciate.
