So finally getting to try some more breweries from the north was an extra perk to our trip! The beer that Steve and I had from this brewery was the TILT Lager and it proved itself to be a good one also! With a nice breadiness and a natural sweetness to it. There is a clean and crisp finish to this beer which we always enjoy experiencing with beers. This beer is light bodied and is easy to have more than one of but we behaved ourselves and shared this refreshing lager.

The place wasn't too busy and the bartender poured us a sample of four different whiskeys. The #11 was my fave. A nice rye. Not too spicy. I also purchased a bottle of dark cherry infused whiskey and a 4 pack of Irish Red Ale, which was nice. They had a DJ with trivia on a Thursday night.

We only got one beer and it was a beer type we don't often get, a Dunkel style beer with a funny name called Creepy Uncle. The logo is fun on the bottle and it will be a name for a beer I won't soon forget. With the beer in the flavor profile you can expect to find maltiness witha hint of vanilla and nuttiness with an appropriate amount of sweetness. The beer is smooth and light bodied. It's a good one to sit down to and relax when you have that desire to unwind.

It was Monday and the special was fish and chips but we had that yesterday so we picked other things. The spicy chicken sandwich was very good. My wife commented that the yam fries were great. The tomato soup was top notch as well. The service was excellent. We ended up having two different servers. Second time we were switched out during our trip. Kind of funny but it gave us an opportunity to meet a couple servers. Both were excellent and took good care of us. I don't usually comment beyond good service but both ladies were funny, playful, and just plain awesome. The original server checked back as well to do nothing other than make sure we were having a good time and to share some laughs. The folks that ran the food were also engaging and genuinely wanting to provide good a great experience. All in all, the best place we have dined at to date in Victoria!

The quality of our meal was also excellent. The Heritage green salad was monstrous and easily satiated the lovely K and I. It was fresh, nicely plated and had lots of all the goodies mentioned on the menu. The Celery soup of the day was also great. We make it at home, so trying a slightly different version gave us some ideas to try. The chicken wings were on special and were plump, very nicely cooked and absolutely delicious. The pub itself is nicely appointed inside with a wide choice of sitting arrangements which we like. The place also has a significant number of folks that were greeted by name, which in our mind is a very good indication of a top quality establishment. One final thing was the washrooms were spotless and smelled nice and clean, from being clean, no perfumed cover up here. All in all one of best experiences for lunch in a long while.
