Found this place very clean & quiet. Shower had very good press & hot water. I wish sites were deeper. I like to hook to my trailer night before leaving but could not here as it would block the road. Also sites are a bit close together but I can live with that. Very convenient access to local towns for eating & site seeing. Sat afternoon local Amish sell bakery products. Very good & reasonable price. Will definitely consider if we visit area again. read more

This is a wonderful little campground that's extraordinarily clean and well-maintained, just RV sites and some one-room cottages but perfectly located between Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand. It's located amidst farms and homes which makes for some pleasant scenery. We were in a cottage near friends in their RV. WiFi worked fine. You could tell how well this place is maintained by the impeccably clean bathrooms with fabric skirts hanging beneath the sinks and music (radio) playing for comfort. There's a covered area with picnic tables, counters, and a grill for gatherings in the center. It's 16-years-old plus, so there aren't kids running around (nothing against kids, but it's a quiet place!) Pets are welcome, so there are lots of canine critters. Quiet hours start at 10pm. A separate area has higher-power, 50A electrical. There's a laundry room here, too. It filled up daily while we were here - obviously popular! read more

Spent this past weekend in one of their cabins. It was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the appliances were like new. Much better than staying in a hotel when visiting the Lancaster area. While sitting at the fire you could hear the horse and buggies going by. So relaxing. I will go back to here next time visiting the area. read more

This is a sweet little campground in the middle of Amish country. There is an Amish farm right next door and buggys are riding by all day. Its a very quaint little area. No pool, that's why the 4 star. It was pretty hot a pool would have been terrific. They have a nice spot for a doggie run, i sat there and enjoyed the scenery while my dog smelled all the smells. I could hear a rooster off i. The distance. There are quite a few little shops down the road not far at all. Most everything is closed on Sundays. I guess they take the Lords day seriously here. This is mine and my boyfriends second summer biking to beacon hill campground in Lancaster county from Philadelphia. We love this place. We tent camped on one of the RV sites last year and this year did a cabin. The cabins are awesome. More expensive then other camping cabins I have looked into but WORTH IT. There is air conditioning, space heater for when it's cold. Bed was comfy, porch, fire pit. It's exactly what we need after a day of biking long. It's the cleanest campground I have been to. Bathrooms are always immaculate, the staff is top notch! They have coffee and tea in the office for 75 cents and there's a ton of farm stands around. The other RVers are always so friendly and from all over. My only regret is we can't stay longer. If you do a bike tour here just know, the road to get here is a short but steep hill. Save a bit for that last push! read more

Beacon Hill is primarily an RV park, but there are several camping cabins available. This review is of our stay in one of the cabins: We had been tent camping on our way from New Orleans to New England, but when we encountered really frigid weather in Lancaster, we decided to treat ourselves by booking a cabin. After all, we already had all the gear we would need and booking a cabin would certainly be cheaper than a motel, right? Well... not so much. What we found when we got there was a 'bed in a box' - a small cabin with a bed, mini-frig and nothing else. It is a camping cabin, so no linens, etc. All of this was as expected. And it was very clean and tidy - appeared quite new, in fact. But the cost of $50+ a night was, I thought, quite high when I found that there were literally dozens of motels in the immediate area that would have cost the same - or less - and we would have had all the extras. You know, extras like linens, TV, running water and, oh yeah, a bathroom that doesn't require a trip across the parking lot! (Please know that we are familiar with camping cabins and didn't expect anything more than clean, basic accomodations. But this cabin would cost half as much in any other commercial campground I've been in.) My other issue is the setting of the RV park and cabins. The whole place is small (1 to 2 acres tops) and consists of a single, large gravel parking lot chocked full of RV's parked as close as they can get 'em. The cabins, there were 3, I think, are at the far end of the gravel lot. The setting is not what one would picture when one considers camping in Amish country! It was a bit like camping in a WalMart parking lot. So... I guess in short, the cabins at Beacon Hill are basic, clean, serviceable. It was our fault that we chose the cabin without checking the price against local motels. (We were 'en route' and it was a last minute decission late at night... so, we were taking our chances.) But for the cost, next time I'll take the time to find a motel. read more

Beacon Hill is a small friendly 16+ campground. It's a well kept place and has a very simplistic way about it! All the amenities are there just like every other campground. However the size of campground allows you to know your neighbors and personally meet the staff! If your looking for a quiet little home away from home this is the place for you! read more

We have been coming here for the last 6 or 7 years. We like the quiet, adults-only atmosphere. Being right near Intercourse, it is nice to see the Amish folks going up and down the road next to the campground. WE usually have an Amish mom with her kids come into the campground at some point, selling homemade bread and other delights. Who can say no to those cute kids. My only complaint would be that it can be a little tricky backing your unit into the narrow spaces, especially with the washrooms and other parking spaces so close. I only do this once or twice a year, so, I would appreciate a little more turning space. Otherwise, all is good. read more

We stayed here in mid-April of '16. Rainy weekend, so our experience with the park itself is limited. The hosts are super-friendly, the bath-houses are immaculate, the sites are small but shaded (in the upper section), the WiFi worked flawlessly, and IT'S QUIET! That's a HUGE plus in our books since we spend 95% of our camping time at PA State Parks. My only complaint is the "door-to-door" sales of baked goods from some of their Amish neighbors in the morning. Other than that, Beacon Hill would easily receive a 5-star rating. If we hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our camper door, would it be honored??? read more

Very nice campground and close to shopping. Only about 50 sites but it definitely fit all our needs while we stayed there. We were there a week and wished we could have been there longer. We didn't try their Wi-Fi but it was available. No cable TV hookups but could get local stations over the air. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Gave us good recommendations for things to do in the area. read more

I stayed at Beacon Hill this past weekend and I do not have anything negative to report. The Campsite was just as described and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The owners were very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and friendly. The ability to walk to the shops from my campsite was a definite plus. I would highly recommend this campground and will be back, for sure! read more

Beacon Hill Campground is a small quiet campground nestled in the country in the heart of Dutch Country. The owners were very nice and helpful. We found that the other campers as well were just as friendly. The grounds are well kept and pet friendly. The cabin we rented for the weekend was nice and up to date. Also the bathrooms were clean and smelled nice. We will be staying here again. read more

Beacon Hill Campground is a cozy, warm and inviting camp ground nestled in the back farm country of the Amish hills. The peaceful tranquility offered at Beacon Hill will wash away most of the stresses that life can create. The ownership at BHC are extremely friendly and most of all, caring about each camper and their BHC experience. The grounds are clean neat and orderly, the bathrooms and showers are immaculate... I can say with 1000% certainty that BHC will go to great lengths to ensure each camper has an awesome experience or BHC will make it right. read more

This was our first visit to Beacon Hill and we loved it! Although our particular space was a bit small, there were many spaces that were roomier. The views were beautiful and the bathrooms/showers were spotless! The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating! We truly felt welcome :) The park was very clean and there were nice flowers and plantings all around. Every site has a fire ring - if it's not there, you just have to ask. They sell firewood for $5/large bundle. We were close enough to walk to the village of Intercourse to enjoy the sights and shopping. This is an adults only campground that is quiet and relaxing. On Saturday morning an Amish woman and her young daughter came around in their horse drawn wagon offering freshly baked goods from her kitchen. We enjoyed sticky buns and a strawberry rhubarb pie - delicious! We saw buggies and wagons go by from our site and even saw hot air balloons. VERY peaceful and relaxing! We will be back! read more
