The property is gorgeous and I have never slept so soundly in my life. As we were packing to leave the morning of checkout we were already planning our next trip there. We got a farm tour by Mr. Landis's Grandson Jack and he has to be the most awesome kid around. His tour was excellent, he knew so much about the animals and mulch we truly enjoyed his company as well as the tour. The next time we go back we hope to have another tour by him. Located in the heart of town this little guest house and cottage has everything you could ask for and the owners are wonderful! You are within walking distance of 50 stores and can listen to the buggies pass all evening long and watch them from your front porch. The owners also give you a self guided driving tour which is a lot of fun. If your going to stay in the heart of PA Dutch country this is the place you'll want to be! Ruth Ann offered to send us local brochures to help us plan our trip. The Carriage House is exactly as described. Our hosts were marvelous. There is a washer and dryer on premises and a full size stove and oven, and all the utensils and stuff we needed. The house is cozy and cute. The dachshund Romeo made his way into our home and our hearts. The price is reasonable for a vacation rental and the surounding town is lovely.

I woke up the sound of the friendly goat baaa'ing and the spectacular array of colors of the sky in Lancaster. Pristine grounds, wonderful country area but very close to "civilization" if you want to pop out to restaurants or stores (I didn't even rent a car and just grabbed a Lyft). Ben and Emma are excellent hosts. Ben will answer any question you have! Emma is a great cook, and also an amazing hostess who will answer your questions. I learned so much!! And a wonderful buggy ride!! And fresh eggs from the hens. Ben is kind to his animals which I appreciated. So a couple of things - there are open grates in all the rooms and the bathroom. I guess so that heat is evenly distributed. But this is a tad odd as it means like zero privacy through the rooms. Also, for an animal lover like me I really hope Ben (or his tenant) will get the mama cat on his property spayed - and the kittens.

My kids are more excited about waking up for "chores" then going to Disney. Every single time we go (We've been there 4 years in a row) and without fail my kids are up at 6am!! Chores begin at 7:45... Chores consist of Vicky leading us in the journey of how to take care of animals at the farm. We begin by feeding pigs, horses, cows, milking the goat, greeting rabbits, feeding calfs, and picking eggs from the chicken coup which, if you stay in a room w/out kitchen, you get good old country breakfast courtesy of Biz & Tom. There is is a beautiful coy pond where kids swim (bring coins to feed the fish n floaties for little ones). There is an awesome tree house and play house. You can even make a fire and make s'mores. It is an amazing place to disconnect from the hustle & bustle of our daily lives and TECHNOLOGY. However, if you must use technology their Wi-Fi works just fine. We have made it a family tradition to go every year... looking forward to next visit. We've stayed in both the Hay Loft (you get a view of the whole place from here) and Chicken Coup where it cannot get any cozier.

On the weekends, Ron serves a gourmet breakfast to die for, much better than any restaurant in the area or restaurant/hotel in the world. My husband fished every morning and every night right along with the locals at various venues, and Ron knows them all. La Cle D'or is one, two, three blocks walking distance to everything in town. It's a great place for antique shopping, and Ron has some pieces available throughout your room for sale and at extremely reasonable prices. So shopping for the women and fishing for the men. In the evenings, there are a couple of restaurants that feature good food and good live music. This is a wondeful place to get away for a romantic weekend!
