I always plan time to visit and shop the best treasures in town! Everyone is helpful and friendly. I love the huge wall of seed beads with so many colors, sizes, and shapes. It's a wonderland for those of us who enjoy the adventure of hand selecting each component for a new project. Just went to this bead store over the weekend for a second time. It's a fairly large bead store and they have a ton of gemstone strands and czech glass beads. They also have a nice selection of odd and end-type beads, which are great for buying only what you need. I found their prices for Swarovski crystals to be a bit more expensive than I normally see in stores. And the only thing I wasn't too keen on with was their lack of components (jump rings, etc). Although, the employees here are extremely pleasant. Overall a pretty solid bead store in the Broward area. I can't say how their classes are, but I'm looking to signing up for one in the future. FYI: During my checkout one of the employees told me that if you keep your receipts and they add up to $500 or more (it doesn't matter how long it takes to have them all add up to this amount) you will receive a permanent discount card. read more

The staff at Bead Need combined with the wide and ever-updated selection will always keep me coming back. I first visited the shop about a year ago, after a friend told me she's made a big discovery, and very close to my house. At the time, I knew nothing about jewelry making, but I'm always engaged with crafts, and a close friend truly enjoys bead stringing. I finally visited with a group, and was captured at once. There's always something new and interesting in stock each time I visit, and half the fun of stopping by is saying hello to everyone. I'm 23 years old, and most of the specialty shops I stop by are definitely not targeted towards my age range, but Bead Need never lets me down. I can confirm all the other rave reviews about this terrific bead store. I have been coming here for years. I've been to many local bead stores around the US, and even out of the country, and this is my all-time favorite. They really do seem to try to have some of everything that a beader might like working with. They have strands of Czech glass, stone bead strands, both of those by the piece, Swarovski by the piece, various pendants, quite a range of seed beads in different sizes (some Delicas, and Japanese and Czech 11's, 8's and 15's.), 2-holed glass beads, and more. There is nothing like a local bead store where you can see and touch the beads in real time, see the quality, be inspired, and match them up for a project. And the prices here are very reasonable. Some things you might be able to find cheaper online, but it's so much harder and not as gratifying. And the quality and variety here is eons above that of any of the big box stores. And maybe best of all, the people who work here are so knowledgeable, helpful and fun. The best in customer service! Actually, it doesn't even seem like you are just a customer, but rather, treated as a friend. This is a place not to be missed! You will be encouraged in your artistic endeavors with beads and jewelry-making, and if you've never tried it, you will find a new source of joy in your life! They teach a variety of classes, from beginner to advanced, and have a sunny room for beading. The teacher I've had, Carol, is a wizard at advanced seed beading, and so good at explaining things and so patient! Take a look at her stunning creations in the front of the store--and then be amazed that she can teach you how to make them. Also good to know: Get on their email list so you know about the occasional sales, and there is a discount card for ten percent off all future purchases once you have $500 total in purchases. This would be great for someone who lives in the area, or for visitors. Make sure whatever it is you buy you really want because they will not exchange any stones or beads. And if they do exchange anything it is only for a store credit. This is a bad policy for customers but it's great for the owner! Also, I wanted to take a class on wire wrapping, but I was told they don't teach wire wrapping because the owner doesn't like wire wrapped jewelry. read more

I was visiting a friend who was staying nearby and I needed a bead store, so this one was close and the reviews were good, so I gave it a shot. OMG! First, let's talk selection. The selection of beautiful, beautiful beads in this store is amazing. You can't even possibly see everything - they have it ALL (be sure to look at all the beautiful things in the glass counters). The prices were great, and they had exactly what I needed (and they had a lot I didn't need, but I bought anyway). It really was one of the best bead stores I have been in! Ok, but besides that, are the women who work in the store. It's such a different vibe when you go into a place where it is independently owned and the owner actually cares about their store; this is such a place. The people who work there were SO great, I can't even explain it. It's like they are your friends for life - they weren't necessarily JUST trying to sell me something, we were just chatting about everything and anything. That is really what will keep me going back again and again to this bead store! It was such a pleasurable experience. Ive been here several times when looking for beads for a small jewelry business I was trying to run. Generally you can buy by the bead, otherwise you'll purchase by strands. I found there's a great deal of selection but the pricing is a little off for me. I usually go to AC Moore or Michaels craft store when I want to stock up, but bead need has a better selection. Finally, you can get a great deal of stuff fractions cheaper off of Ebay, but its mostly from china and takes a month to ship. Hope this helps! read more

I love this bead store! They have a fabulous selection of beads and supplies. BUT what makes me go back again and again is the welcome feeling I get in the store. Customer service is in fact STILL ALIVE! The staff is experienced bead artists who enjoys helping customers find just the right color or supply for a project. They are invaluable for problem solving on a project. If you want a class, this is the place to go. The classes they offer are for amazing pieces which are featured in a showcase (OMG! This the greatest bead store in South Florida. I have visited, I believe, all of the bead stores in Bro ward County, some in West Palm, and some in Miami and have not found one to compare to BEAD NEED. Staff are so friendly and always available to help. I have taken quite a few classes at the BEAD NEED and they have greatly increased my knowledge of jewelry design and creation. Their selection is far superior to the other local bead stores. Such a large selection of gemstones, seed beads, Czech beads, wire and chains and so much more. Bead Need is a great store! As previously mentioned, they have a large selection of all types of beads...lots of Czech glass.. and Swarovski crystals. What's great about this store is that their crystals are out and accesible without having to ask the staff to get them out for you, so you can pick and choose uninterrupted! I've taken one basic beading class and it was good. I learned a lot and it provided me with a basis to go on and learn more on my own. They do lack a little in the area of components, however they have magnificant clasps...probably because they have an off-shoot business, called "Clasp-on, Clasp-off". Staff is helpful, and yes, if you spend $500 (sounds like a lot, not so hard to do..!) you get a card for 10% off of your entire order! read more

I have been going to Bead Need for several years now and it's my "go to" bead shop! The ladies are wonderful, creative, artsy, helpful and welcoming. The owners are often there and you can tell they love and value their shop and their customers. The inventory is simply fantastic and you know when you walk in that you are not at a commercial store like Michaels as they handpick all of the merchandise. I took a beginner class with Andi which is three hours long and basically teaches you everything you need to know to begin making beautiful pieces and she is a rock star, I just love her. I feel like the store is my home away from home and I love to shop there then sit and bead. It's a very nice atmosphere and one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday afternoon. I have been beading now for four years and it is my number 1 bead shop and I am sure it will be yours as well. A must see :) read more
