I respect people that get nerdy AF about something they love! Another staff members welcomes me and asks how he can help. As soon as I tell him it's a repair he flags down Maurice and he's all eyes on me. Fills me in about the issues that he finds. Let me know that some pieces wouldn't be worth fixing. And shares all the options. Freaking great HONEST service! I pay, given a receipt and return a week later. When I returned the store was a little more busy. I take the time to eye some of the jewelry and bags displayed throughout the store. Cute unique items at a moderate price. Purchased my sister's bday/Christmas gift months early because I couldn't let that deal pass me. Every single piece that I gave him a week ago that was broken, bent, and dirty was returned brand new. First I was looking to repair my engagement ring, then I decided to reset it. I then changed my mind again and decided to make an entirely new ring out of diamond studs I was given (since I do not wear earrings). Believe it or not, it is not easy to find nice settings for two diamonds. I soon realized the setting would have to be custom made. So I first looked at my neighborhood jewelers. One of them in Davie, Maurice at Maurice's Jewelry Box said that I should really go to his parent's store as they had a bigger selection. So that's how I ended up at DSH. I found a picture online had it copied. It was a beautiful vintage setting. The first wax model did not turn out quite as I wanted it the first time so Helaine and Daniel sent it to someone else to be redone at their expense. When it was finally complete, I loved the finished product! I then had DSH take my original engagement diamond to make a beautiful halo pendant. Another job I was very happy with! Since then, I have gone to the store to have my watch and jewelry repaired. Their jeweler is very experienced and does a great job. Helaine is so warm and friendly. From the moment I met her she made me feel like family. I think I have bought my share of jewelry for a long time. But it's nice to know that if I need anything, Helaine and Daniel are there.
