I ordered the taro latte with pudding, mango coconut pudding, spicy crab, and tator tots. Taro latte was 70% sweetness and was still kinda sweet. That was on me though. I typically order 50% sweet but this was my first time here so I only went slightly less sweet than the base. The mango coconut pudding was really good but also slightly sweet for me. The spicy crab rice ball was delicious. It was hot when it came out and didn't have too much mayo. The tater tots were super hot and crunchy. Not too salty either. Definitely coming back to this location!

The place is called Tomo Tea House on N Freeway Blvd in Natomas. Their parking situation is pretty good as they have a huge lot that they share with many other popular businesses. It's the cutest little shop and they have the cutest interior with a few tables inside for customers. They have a kiosk one can order from but I ordered at the regular cashier. They have a pretty good display case which features many of their mochi donuts available that day. This particular visit was kind of unique in that I went there towards the end of business day,so I was able to pick up six donuts for only $1 each,so I ended up getting a lot more donuts than usual. I can 100% say that after eating all six donuts they do make a quality mochi donut and they really nailed the proper texture and sweetness level. Let's rank the donuts I picked up that day. 1. Chocolate With Fruity Pebbles-5/5-I really enjoyed the over the top sweetness of the toppings with the subdued sweetness of the donut. 2. Cookies N Cream-4/5-Im a pretty big fan of Cookies n Cream so this flavor combo really worked. 3. Churro-3.75/5-i think they pulled off the churro flavor pretty well and I really enjoyed this donut. 4. Funnel Cake-2.5/5- I'm not the biggest fan of Funnel Cake,so I'm probably the wrong audience but yeah just didn't enjoy it too much. 5. Ube-1.5/5- like the funnel cake, not a massive fan of Ube flavor so this flavor profile didn't work for me-sadly I had two of these. Overall I really enjoyed my visit to this shop and they currently are my go-to spot for mochi donuts in the Natomas area. They have a really high quality product here.

Good amount of boba options and customizations. Boba itself was pretty decent. Food was decent as well. There's a fair number of chairs and tables to enjoy your boba or while you wait for your order. The dimly lit space with music playing definitely gave night lounge vibes. We each ordered from the kiosk and received our drinks with a short turnaround. Call me old fashioned, but the process of ordering from a kiosk without an employee present then grabbing my drink that was left on the counter takes away any customer service worth a tip. It's annoying when the tipping screen pops up after placing my order. Sure, the drink came out timely, but we were the only ones ordering in the shop at the time and the tipping screen pops up before my drink comes out. Due to the late hour, I opted to get a non-caffeinated drink. I got the Mango Cloud, 50% sweet with brown sugar boba. The boba was still warm and had a nice chew to it. I particularly like the mango bits.

We have been to this building before when it was a different restaurant inside so maybe Pastrycat is a better fit. The neighborhood is so blessed to have this business bc this baker is so talented. Remember she had popups ongoing for the last five plus years & she definitely has a huge following! Yaaassss!!! We were here closer to 11 AM on purpose to try their pork veggie dish over rice, breakfast sammy, iced hojicha unsweetened latte & fruit custard tart. I thought the pork veggie dish was too rich & thick for me maybe bc I'm not a huge gravy fan but my wife enjoyed it. She also loved the breakfast sandwich although the chimichurri was very unique but worked for her. She wished her latte came with almond milk but that wasn't an option but she did enjoy the hojicha unsweetened oat latte. The hojicha roasted tea flavor truly came through. Forgot to mention we were lucky to snag a table indoors as outdoor seating was totally full. So at least we enjoyed our food right away. Yes our order came quickly! My wife used the ladies room out back. You will need a code for it. Yes the restaurant isn't huge so it could be ideal to just order food to go which can be the only disadvantage. Bc we ate a pretty full breakfast my wife had her tart later. She reveled her fruit tart with the many croissant layers like she was in pastry heaven!!! Omgosh!!! She said she was! We were fortunate to get parking right away although we observed street parking here & there. At least parking is free if you find a space. If you haven't tried pastrycat you must treat yourself. The ham and cheese pastry was to die for, the bread was something made from the heavens. I also got a ton of other pastries but I didn't go by the name, just how visually amazing they looked. However I didn't get some croissant with like a coffee/fig interior and wow, definitely a go to.

Austin, the manager, is such a friendly & hospitable person to chat with. He is passionate about the flavor creations he tinkers with, & all the syrups are made in-house. He's happy to explain the menu to new customers. We enjoyed the seasonal pumpk.n spice as a foam.top iced latte last time, & found it just as tasty as a hot latte this time around. It is really flavorful, & I wanna say it has a delightful floral note. We also tried the seasonal mint.d mocha as a hot latte & liked it. It was subtly flavored, but enjoyable. I think the syrup settles to the bottom, so swirl as you sip. Neither drink is too sweet, & both were at a warm vs hot temperature. We ordered the cafe.bar.wich with a side of green chile lime sauce. It was packed with flavor & rich from ingredients like buttery bread, mayo, & bacon. The lime sauce is a must--a delicious bright note that cuts through all the richness. We previously tried the cruz (very interesting combo of strong coffee and chai with a distinct lavender floral note) & a club.nini (another tasty, but super rich sandwich), which were great. This is part of the Sacramento Youth Center, so a very worthwhile organization to support. The menu offers many memorable & unique flavor combinations. They offer a drinks rewards card--buy 6 & you get your 7th free!

The Americano here is easily the best I've had--bold, full of flavor, and not watered down like you get at a lot of bigger chain spots. You can tell it's made with intention. It actually tastes like coffee is supposed to taste. The pastries were just as impressive. The Biscoff cheesecake was rich and balanced without being overly heavy, with that warm, caramelized flavor that really stands out. The blueberry muffin tasted fresh and real--not overly sweet, just done right. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone. The music is calm and relaxing, the chairs are genuinely comfortable (not the typical stiff coffee shop seating), and the entire space feels less like a business and more like sitting in a welcoming home--a nice home where you actually want to stay awhile. But what really sets this place apart is the experience. Abdul didn't just take our order-- he genuinely engaged with us. He was friendly, thoughtful, and took the time to explain the concept behind the space, including how it connects to the location and atmosphere. That kind of interaction is rare, and it completely changed the tone of the visit. This isn't a place you rush in and out of. It feels built for conversation--for sitting down, slowing down, and actually connecting with the people you're with. It's a refreshing change from the typical coffee chain experience where everything feels standardized and transactional. Another standout is that the menu is halal, which makes this an easy and welcoming choice for anyone looking for halal options without having to second guess what they're ordering. If you're looking for more than just caffeine--if you want a place that values community, comfort, and real human connection--this is absolutely worth your time. This place reminded me what a coffee shop is supposed to be.
