Cute little pastry shop with minimalist clean decor. I arrived a few minutes before opening and there was already a line but it wasn't too long. The plain croissant was nice a flaky on the outside and fluffy and buttery inside. Cara Cara almond croissant was good but after a couple of bits the orange flavor was a bit much. Miso brown butter cookie was amazing, decadent taste. Za'atar and Gruyère croissant was okay, tasted dry so I would pass. The hazelnut hojicha financier was so good, it was my favorite. I would definitely come back again to try their other pastries.

Very nice bakery cafe! We were planning on driving from the Bay Area to Folsom for an event and made a detour to Pastry Cat in East Sacramento. So glad we did. The food is delicious, the service was great- super fast with the drinks and food- and the cafe itself was clean and bright. We came around 11:00 and even though the line was to the door, everything went quickly. We got a bunch of stuff: chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookie for my son, breakfast biscuit sandwich, French toast, zaatar pastry and a salted honey pastry, matcha latte and vanilla latte, and a bag of coffee and a few bags of granola to-go. We could never make it to a Pastry Cat pop up and I'm so happy they have a permanent spot. Looking forward to trying more of their lunch menu next.

These are the best pastries I have ever had. I love the unique flavor options! Cute indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. The whole nine yards!

Congrats to their storefront in the East Sac area! Decided to stop by to grab some pastries and checkout the new shop!! Simple yet elegant decor , available parking in the neighbor and good amount of seating spaces to sit down and enjoy! They have breakfast items , fresh pastries/baked goods and coffee/tea! Order some item to go but will definetly come back with friends /families to share the best bakery in town ! Staff were friendly and even with a line services was quick !

Amazing little spot in a beautiful East Sac neighborhood. My girlfriend and I heard about it on Instagram and decided to check it out. We got 2 iced matchas with A ham and cheese suisse, with the banana and stawberry scone. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 very welcoming. Vibes off the charts. They are a little compact with the amount of traffic coming in but still an amazing place to get a nice treat to start your day!

We never caught Pastry Cat for their popups and were really excited to try them out at their brick and mortar location. We got there just before 8 am on the Friday and there was already a line. There's plenty of free street parking. As far as lining up, it was a bit tight with everyone on the ramp (there's a big rose bush or something), so you're going to be running up against the thorns if you're not careful. The seating inside is a little limited, but very cute! There's a little outdoor patio as well, where you can exit from, but then you'll get back to the ramp where people are lining up. I imagine this will be less of an issue as the hype eases over time. We got to the front of the line, and there are items like craft coffee beans, matcha, and chocolate that you can purchase. Their pastry case was beautiful. Service was alright. The gal at the front was kind of low energy and didn't really bother to introduce any of the items or ask if we had questions. Additionally, after we got our drinks, we noticed that the lids didn't fit properly on our matcha. My partner asked if there was a different lid for the matcha, and they simply pointed to the lids on the counter, which was where we got it from. We tried a couple of lids and it was clear they were all the same size and did not fit properly. I'm kind of surprised they didn't test it ahead of time. In any case, the matcha was just ok. Color seemed ok, but not as vibrant and the flavor is not as strong as other local matcha shops. Overall, the sweet pastries were quite sweet for my palate. As for the pastries, we ordered the following: -Hazelnut hojicha financier: I liked the texture due to the butter, a bit of crispiness to the edges and it was soft, moist. I liked the large salt pieces and this was probably the least sweet of all 3 pastries (which were all sweet for me). This would go well with black coffee. I think this was my favorite of the 4 pastries we got. -Cara cara almond croissant: This was probably the sweetest pastry due to the almond portion of the filling. The cara cara marmalade (?) was strong in flavor but it didn't seem well distributed with the almond (edges and center had almond, and it seemed the cara cara was more towards the center). The croissant had a very nice crunch though! -Strawberry banana passionfruit scone: Quite sweet as the drizzle was covering most of the scone. I felt like there was a lot going on with the three fruits. -Zaatar and gruyere croissant: It was nice and flaky, buttery. Again, I wished the toppings were distributed a bit more. The gruyere was more towards the center of the croissant, with the zaatar being more evenly distributed. I hope to try their cookies and kitchen items in the future!

The baked goods and the breakfast items we got were delicious. The Cara cara almond croissant was at the top of our list! It was so delicious. My partner enjoyed the french toast and I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. Would definitely go back for the breakfast sandwich. To drink, we got a hojicha latte with oat milk. It is a good for those who are new to the hojicha taste, but not for those who are experienced with it. I've had great hojicha lattes in SoCal and was disappointed with this one. Overall, the baked goods and breakfast items are definitely worth coming back for! Keep in mind that parking is in a residential neighborhood so parking may be hard to find initially.

OMG! Highly recommend! This bakery is so incredibly delicious. The line was a little long this morning but it was worth it! We tried the ham and cheese pain suisse, roasted garlic smoked cheddar scone and the salted honey croissant bun. They have a limit of 5 pastries per person right now with the soft opening going on. Everything was soooooo yummy but I especially liked the honey bun. They have both outdoor and indoor seating and are right across the street from a playground and park if you have kids or dogs.

From pop up to brick and mortar success!! This power couple knows how to make delicious pastries and food. Drinks are also amazing. Highly recommend.

I went to their pop up at Offbeat! There's usually a line, and they sell out fast! I got there around 9 and there was a wait. Turns out, that wait was for Offbeat's drinks, so I probably needed to just pop into the other line. Anyway, I liked a lot of the pastries. I would say the ham and cheese croissant was a bit on the saltier side, and the fig croissant was on the sweeter side. But the matcha cookie, miso cookie - those were standouts. There was a blondie that was also pretty tasty! What a fun fusion of flavors!

Love this place as a pop-up, and very excited they have a brick-and-mortar place. The place is somewhat small, with limited seating, but the atmosphere was very nice, and the pastries are of the same quality as the pop-up. My favorite was the almond croissant, very buttery with amazing fillings inside.

Pastry extraordinaire! Pastry Cat brings you from your typical pastries into to the new age of WOW! I highly recommend the donuts. Usually a yuzu and another seasonal fruit comprise the better known "mini brioche donut duo". These almost always get sold old first. Oh yeah, sold out, yeah they are currently a popup only. Typically Saturday mornings at a local coffee shop. Find them on Instagram under thepastrycat916 for their current Saturday popup. Things to get... EVERYTHING! You really can't go wrong but if you're lucky enough to get their donuts, you'll be hooked for sure.

My visit to Pastry Cat is only one star less than perfect because the long line to get in was really to get a beverage. Blessedly, there were two Caramel Apple Crumble cakes left. So...if ever there was a perfect bite, this was it!!! Each bite greeted your tongue with a layer of caramel, followed by a slightly tart apple slice, a moist spiced cake and then a crumb topping that was not dry!! I really tried to slow down but before I knew it, my hands were EMPTY!!! It's a good thing I was along because, I just might have uttered a careless phrase or two! This cake pairs well with beautiful autumn leaves, cozy sweaters, an uncomplicated beverage and a grateful heart. Enjoy...

Not going to lie, but I used to work here when they first opened in 2009 and I would never get tired of eating the meatball pan or the green tea melon pan during my break. After all these years, I would have a craving from time to time so I always return and say hello to the owner. Besides, they make a lovely goodie box for a party and I always throw in a bag of dinner rolls because the quality of their bread is so soft and delicious. I've been coming to Estelle's Bakery & Patisserie for years since I used to live only a block away,…read moreso it became one of my favorite places to walk to for tea and desserts. I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.

I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Honestly I should have just gotten one pastry to try in one day as they are pricey-i paid 31 not including the tip fot my pastries, and in this economy one cannot waste that much on disappointing sweet treats lol

I decided to go for the chicken and mushroom congee. (rice porridge.). I also got a green onion hotdog roll to take home with me. To drink, I had a green tea with lemon. The congee was amazing. A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. They definitely taste like a doughnut, except they are not sweet at all. They are savory donuts, and are perfect to use as a crouton, so to speak. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion. They had something mixed in, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste raw like green onion can. Just a great lunch. I'll be back. Thanks.

It's a small shop and there's usually a line, but they move pretty quickly and it's nice to have time to decide what you're going to order. On my last visit we picked up a couple brownies, a cookie, and one of their savory corn muffins with bacon and jalapeno. All the items are prices well, and are very fresh. I loved the brownies, especially the one with nuts. They're the perfect fudgy texture and while they're a good size, it's hard to stop eating them once you start. I recommend stopping in early for the most variety, they're the type of spot that once they run out of something it's gone for the day, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious.

My boyfriend and I finally had the time to come on a Monday (after the gym lol). We ordered a couple of items to try and I'll tell you I was full after a couple of bites and it carried me for the rest of day. We ordered jalapeño cheddar and classic sage sausage patty, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwich and biscuit 2 pack: blueberry and brown sugar biscuit. While picking up my boyfriend was recommended the cinnamon roll and he caved and got it! We had our pickup time at 7:30, but we showed up a little early and got our food around 7:20. There was a bit of a wait since there were some people ahead of us, so I'd recommend you going a bit earlier than your time just in case you're in a rush. We headed home to try everything. We really enjoyed the biscuits themselves as they didn't leave a dry or grainy feeling in your mouth. They had a good crust while being airy and light inside. The sandwiches were good, but they were anything crazy. Size wise it is small for the price you get, but I get it. It's all house made and fresh. We definitely think the biscuits themselves are the standout. The blueberry and brown sugar biscuits were a sweet tooth's heaven. The cinnamon roll wasn't too sweet either and had great texture and basically melted in your mouth. I never knew about midtown bakery before midtown biscuits so I would definitely come back to check out their other items, while getting those biscuits!

Some of my favorites: 1. Croissants- all of them lovely... can't miss! 2. Red bean sesame cheesecake- sounds crazy, but quite good and I'm not even a fan of red beans 4. Mceggggg- yes, five stars for the "5G" Sando!

I initially parked closer to their kitchen, not realizing there was a main building but they're right across from each other. They have a few self-ordering kiosks, which I guess they prefer customers to use. It kind of seemed like the staff member didn't want to take my order, even though it wasn't busy at all. Their bakery items and brunch menu are on the higher end price-wise, but I think that also aligns with the market and location, so it makes sense. Since it was my first time there, I only ordered a couple of items to try. FOOD REVIEW Morning Bun - 5/5: My kids loved this. It reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, but in pastry form. This was so good. Almond Croissant - 5/5: The croissant itself was airy, super flaky, and really good. My kids also enjoyed this one. The pastries were packaged nicely as well. Overall, the pastries were good, so the price felt worth it to me.
