So happy that Rustica opened this location. I don't think that they bake anything here, could be wrong, but everything is fresh and well stocked. The selection easily matches the uptown and southdale locations. Coffee drinks and tea are available too. It's not a large space but it works. Finally a decent bakery on the west side!

I had a solo breakfast here and the breakfast sandwich was delicious! One I would definitely go back for. Service was good and everyone was very friendly.

It's finally here! After a false alarm before the pandemic (complete with paper signage), and delays that pushed this location back from summer 2025, the Wayzata Rustica has finally opened in the old Wuollet space. It couldn't be a better upgrade for that space, and it couldn't be at a better time for the area. The pandemic wiped out the best options for food in Wayzata, most notably taking out the original Bellecour bakery and restaurant. The various options that have sprung up since are universally mid to bland (awful), with service to match. In this vacuum, Rustica fills a much needed gap. Every item I tried matched the original location by Bde Maka Ska: The bouchon was a dense chocolate piece of heaven (bigger than how most bakeries make them), the mozzarella sandwich was fresh and flavorful on their incredible bread. As always, their cold brew is one of the best in the city and doesn't need any tinkering to be palatable and pleasant (the other options in downtown Wayzata range from rough to battery acid). Unlike other Wayzata spots, they are open daily (no "closed on Mondays" nonsense). The only real complaint is how small the space is, they've done a remarkable job of fitting in more seating -- but there's only so much you can do with the available square footage. Hopefully warmer months will let them set up some patio spaces as well. I truly hope this is the beginning of another food renaissance in the Wayzata era like c.2017-2020, it was depressing to see the area fall back into bland, overpriced style-over-substance options by people who think owning a fancy-looking restaurant is more important than the food inside it.

So many different flavors; literally something for everyone. Please save some space after your dinner for this -- don't be like me... eating until I'm full and then STILL trying to get a double scoop. I couldn't do it... oh but I did do it. And it was WORTH IT! All that sugar got to my head and I didn't even think to take a pic of my ice cream... Get yourself a waffle cone though, so good! The folks here are patient and sweet. You're gonna want to try a few things before committing. They're all good!! There may be a line depending on when you go but it goes by pretty quickly. If you start to get impatient, just remember that when you get to the front, you don't want anyone rushing you while you try all those delicious favors.

They have over a dozen flavors of ice cream. Some are listed on the display while others are on signs on the wall above the ice cream. I got the "Halley's Comet" single scoop in a waffle cone. It was vanilla & chocolate ice cream w/ caramel ribbons & Carmel truffles. It was good & reasonably priced. They have 3 tables inside so it's smaller, there's some benches outside too. I would for sure stop here again if I'm in the area! Such a nice treat.

We were contracted with a venue that mandates we work with Buttercream but my experience with the…read moreowner literally put me in a panic attack. We arrived for our appointment and David was the only person in the shop. We sat down to do our trial and a customer duo came in. One who we assume knows David personally who was bringing her "out of town friend" (we later found out her friend is from Golden valley) to try out the cupcakes. David left us at the table and never came back for questions. We kept trying to signal him to come back as we had questions on if we could put certain fillings with certain cakes. My anxiety started to climb as he continued to ignore us for these two ladies purchasing 2 cupcakes. This was my first time ever being a bride and I am a baker since my grandmother taught me to bake when I was little. To say I was looking forward to picking out my wedding cake more than my wedding dress was accurate and yet here we were being completely ignored by David. After they had a long conversation about this and that David finally came back to us and asked what we wanted to do. My fiance stepped up and said we had a few questions. I then began to ask if we could pair the caramel with the white cake and Davids response was as if I was the dumbest person on the earth for not knowing you can not put it on white cake since it cant support it. We asked if the cookies and cream filling could be put on white cake and he just kept giving us answers as if we were wasting his time. Not treating us like we were going to purchase large cake for a wedding. I started to shut down since I started fearing asking any questions. He then started asking us if we wanted tiered or cupcakes and obviously I had questions about if pricing would look different and all that so my husband had to ask the questions. I ended up in tears unable to make a decision and hating my interaction with David and his lack of customer service. We walked out of there with myself in tears unsure what to do because David was absolutely the worst. We reached out to our venue/catering manager about the experience and she told us that should not have been what happened and told us we should try the st paul location and that she would ensure we have someone who is actually friendly to work with us. If we were not required to use this bakery after this experience, we would have not.

They did not offer much for customization options when it came to the cake, but it was fine given that they had about 4 days notice. I would order from them again if I need something in a pinch!
