This was the best food I've ever had in the coffee shop. I had a turkey avocado sandwich with the ancient grain bread with their special sauce. Very good. Then I had the white bean chicken chili... this really was the best chicken chili I've ever had. The cookies were not bad either although I like mine with a little more crisp. Coffee was good and service was great. There was a magazine on the coffee table in the dining area that I started to read, it was very interesting but I had no time to read it all as I am traveling another 300 miles before my stop. I offered to purchase it from the manager and he insisted on not charging me for it. So I left for happy and with some good reading material for later. Found out about this place through Groupon and stopped by to grab a couple of sandwiches on my way from Louisville to Cincinnati. Excellent bread baked in house, all natural meats and high quality ingredients. I did not try their coffee, ice-cream or donuts, but I'm sure they must be good too. The sandwiches were simply delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommended if you are in the area. read more

Great little restaurant! Awesome deli sandwiches, I had the Bacon Cheddar Chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Bread is baked fresh daily and you can tell, its really good! Coffee is Caribou coffee which I think is better that Starbucks! My wife got a made to order Chicken Wrap with avocado and she really enjoyed it! We both got a cup of their Bean Soup which was homemade which some bacon in it which was very good also! Couldn't resist buying some bakery items too, they have fresh donuts, brownies, and breads. It's alright.. smallish portions and the the only lunch options are really just soups and sandwiches and the sandwich bread is really oily. I though the sandwich was average, nothing special but the soup was good. The kids meals are TINY so if you have an older child perhaps just have them order from the adult menu read more

My wife and I waited for over 40 minutes for food. Finally we got up and asked where our food was and they said that the computer didn't send info to the cook so our food order had never got to the kitchen. So we had to get our money back. They were not very busy either. I did not particularly like the doughnuts. They went bad quickly and did not have a pronounced flavor. Tasted as if they had been made the day before. Also, I saw a mess in the men's restroom. Thought this would be a good place, but my expectations were defied. I wouldn't eat here again. read more

Fantastic roadside stop! We were driving down 75 and saw a sign for the place and make it a point to eat at local places while on road trips. We were very glad we stopped, the building was small but very nicely decorated with bright digital signs so you can't miss it. Our sandwiches were tasty, made with locally made deli meats. The doughnuts alone were worth the stop; the glazed doughnuts were light and airy and a few of them came with us for the rest of the trip. Thanks for the experience, Beans! read more

Nicely done Beans! First time there since the move to the bigger building. Nice layout but that's very minor compared to the good food. Good soup and panini combo for both my wife and I. The slaw with the combo was good and the homemade bread for the sandwich was also very good. Nice to have a locally owned bakery and sandwich shop. Will definitely be back often. There coffee is sub par at best.... Java Jo'z put that place to shame (to bad they closed.) I wasn't thrilled about my americano, not to mention the lady making it had no idea what it was and was trying to question me if that was a real thing. The staff needs some work and customer service... They smiled when I walked up, but that's as far as it went. Again, this is comparing apples to oranges. But, Java Jo'z was my morning stop every morning so anything else wont exactly cut it. I still give this place credit for their variety of foods and ice creams. But they need A LOT of help in the coffee department. read more

If you are in the area you have to stop here. We were in town for two days, went there for dinner our second night. Bake their bread there, Ancient Grain is a favorite and we bought bread to go. Our party enjoyed of four each ordered a different sandwich and each one was enjoyed. I bet the breakfast is yummy. Hand dipped ice cream sounded good too. We wanted coffee and scones while driving home. Unfortunately they don't have scones so we bought the cherry tarts, which were very close to perfect pastries. The Chai Latte was an excellent compliment to the pastry as well. If they had scones it would have been 5 stars. read more

We stopped at Beans and got some Danish and other pastries to take home. (We are local). My wife asked for a container to take them home and the young lady at the counter placed them in the 4x6 plastic container. The Manager / Owner swooped in and admonished her (In front of us) telling her that these were expensive and to use a bag. all this transpired while he was still on a cell phone and made no eye contact with my wife. These Danish are not cheap. The containers are . This is a small deal but it gives me an insight as to how things Go at this place. Their way or the Highway. We won't be there again. We took our grandchildren to The Ark on 10/21 and were looking for a really hearty breakfast and some great coffee. I found Beans on Yelp and was delighted in every way. The staff was just wonderful and patient with a picky eater and helped her decide on extra yummy blueberry pancakes which she loved. The other child got a breakfast burrito and also loved it. The omelets were superb and the crispy fresh potatoes were just right and quite hot. Beans is clean, quiet and just right, highest compliments from us. read more

Passing through? Stop. This is a cafe nestled in a small town with a far above average menu. I spent several hours there while passing through Kentucky, and I have to say it was excellent. I had the Philly panini which was awesome along with a chai latte and chocolate donut. All were outstanding. The donut was far better than any I've ever had. Made fresh every morning appears to be no joke. As for the staff, the owner was awesome. We had quite a bit of conversation. I would go again and definitely recommend this to all. read more
