I've been coming to Smitty's for about 15-20 years. Never let me down. A staple for Wenatcheetonians. The servers are polite and speedy. The tables are always clean and spacious. Bathrooms are clean. The food is like Denny's but better. I prefer this place over the Wild Huckleberry most times. Standard american breakfast just made with a little more love. Cool diner vibe. The staff is helpful and accommodating while remaining efficient and professional. They were particularly busy the morning we were there, as many customers, ourselves included, were refugees from Leavenworth during the power outage and flooding. Quiet diner, good service, weird parking lot, and terrible food. For food, we ordered a California Benedict (weird holandaise sauce, almost as if its watered down and greased down from any flavor) with hashbrowns (crispy on top and soft underneath), and french toast (toast was fine) with sausage and eggs (sausage was greasy, eggs had no seasoning - not even salt or pepper) Getting into the lot is a little strange. If you are coming from the West or South, you would have to take a U-turn as construction is blocking off the middle lane. If you are coming from the East, its an easy right turn? But its surrounded by construction cones so it takes some to navigate that right into the lot. Staff was nice, attentive, and patient. Sat us in in just a minute, tended to our table in 5 minutes, and food came out after ordering in 15 minutes. Overall, will not come back here again. We just needed some brunch on the way to Chelan and this place just wasnt appetizing enough. read more

Since 1956, Smitty's has been the principal breakfast rendezvous spot for Wenatchee's orchardists. Yesterday was our first time back since 14 years ago. The ambiance is still the same, and probably won't change, in spite of the new construction for two blocks on either side of the restaurant. Our waitress, Roxanne, told us that Smitty's has been spared from almost five city blocks of demolition and repurposing by the city, on the east side of Wenatchee avenue. But for Sherrie and me, yesterday's breakfast was business as usual. Sherrie had the "Farmer's Breakfast" with Swedish crepes; I ordered the lighter faire "Good Sense". It was a pleasure to be served a whole carafe of coffee with our meal. The table was set with all the condiments you'd expect, including fruit jams with "high fructose corn syrup", and catsup with NO high fructose...etc.--something for everyone :-) :-) Our breakfast was totally satisfying and Roxanne was charming. Went to Smitty's last Saturday morning and again this morning because it was so good! Had the florentine omelette which is smothered in hollandaise. I'm very picky about hollandaise and this sauce was excellent! My friend had the ham and cheese omelette which she loved as well! Hashbrowns are great as are the pancakes. This is THE BEST breakfast spot!!! There's tons of healthy options, I had 2 sunnyside up eggs with avocado, salsa, sour cream, and impossible sausage. My partner had a garden omelet. The waitress brought us a whole pot of coffee for the table so we never needed to wait for refills. The pancakes were delicious and the syrup was HOT. We went for breakfast this morning and the food was mediocre at best. I remember going to this restaurant many times and it was always a treat to stop and get breakfast it obviously has management or ownership that does not care about their customers. The restaurant was clean, Outside of the restaurant had a lot to be desired. In a world with many places to choose a breakfast, I think you should keep looking and bypass Smitty's pancake house. The biscuits and gravy were cold once it reached the table and the other entrée had cold potatoes. We enjoy hot food. read more

Service was horrible. Had arrived before busy morning hour with a big party, was told wait time would be 20-25 mins. After 30 minutes, went to check on wait time and was greeted with attitude by host who could not provide an estimate. Waited an additional 10 minutes, asked again on our wait time while other parties who came in after kept getting seated before us. I was greeted again with a sour attitude. I don't not recommend this place unless you wanna deal with workers who are sour & rude to those who have waited patiently for a table. read more

Went here a few times over the past few years. It's ok at best. It's exactly what you would expect from a diner dive place. Food tastes processed and pre done sloppy plate kind of thing. The country gravy left a little to be desired, but you can't win 'em all. If you're coming here to be blown away, keep looking. I went there with my mother for lunch on Wednesday afternoon. Access through the construction wasn't difficult, but it's understandable why they were pretty slow. Overall, service and food were just "fine". Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about. The server was friendly if somewhat busy, despite there being hardly any customers. We ordered sandwiches, a reuben and a patty melt, each came with a fries or a side of soup. The food was good, but nothing special. However, the downside is cost. For just the two sandwiches and no drinks (we had water, which was never refilled), the bill was almost $35 after tax, $42 after tip. I recently moved to Wenatchee and did not have a chance to go here before COVID hit. I believe they closed down, not sure if they did take out. I came here after the inside dining was opened back up. I had to laugh at the host who was there to seat me. She was wearing a clear plastic face shield. I'm sorry but it was just funny! Servers and cooks wearing masks. The place smelled pretty clean. Seating for different customers was "socially distanced" (I am getting sick of that term!). I got the BLT on toast. It came with a choice of salad, soup, or fries. I took salad. I was impressed with the salad! Actually had a selection of vegies along with the lettuce instead of being 95% lettuce and maybe you find a tomato or onion ring..... As for the BLT, the bacon was the texture of leather... I prefer bacon a little bit crispy but this was leather. But otherwise it was pretty good! Oh, one thing that impressed me. I am picky on tips. I read that tips are supposed to be calculated ONLY on the food cost and sales tax is NOT supposed to be part of that calculation. The receipt had "suggested tips" at the 15%, 18%, and 20% level. I did the math and the calculations were made ONLY on the food cost and did not include the sales tax. (It ticks me off when calculations include the sales tax for the tip calculations. Usually the difference is minor, but IT'S THE PRINCIPLE!) As I mentioned the place really smelled clean, but I did not smell any cleaning products so they probably found a good product that didn't leave lingering fragrances. read more

I use to order the Chorizo Burrito but the chef seems to forget the menu and make breakfast burritos without chorizo. 4 times in a row they got it wrong and after a few months I thought I'd try again, NOPE 5 times in a row. We had a large group and we were taken care of nicely. Pancakes are fabulous and homemade strawberry syrup is the best. Try the basted eggs. Kind of like a poached egg. Coffee was generous. I liked the steak and eggs. Hash browns looked good. Lots and lots of selections. Huge place that handles larger groups. Plenty of parking but that can get crowded. This is not fast food so expect to stop and enjoy the folks you're there with. You don't find this sorry of place easily... So value your time here and you'll be well fed. read more

My husband and I are on vacation and found this resturant on Yelp. Casey (our waitress) is awsome. Very polite and considerate. I ordered the cheese blintzes with strawberries and ice tea ( they brew the ice tea), my husband had the farmer's breakfast. The pancakes along with the eggs etc is awsome. We stopped for brunch on our way through town. Had a slight wait to get a table but that wasn't surprising. Once we ordered, the wait for the food was a bit longer than seemed reasonable, even for a busy Sunday morning. I ordered the specially seasoned corned beef hash full platter which came with two eggs plus biscuits and gravy. The "full platter" was about enough food to fit on a regular salad plate. The "specially seasoned" corned beef hash was nothing but a scoop of canned corned beef hash that can (but should not!) be purchased at any grocery store. The service was decent but not exceptional. I don't live in the area but if I did, I wouldn't bother going back. read more

Drove through Wenatchee on my way back to the west side of the mountains last week. My Yelp for iPhone app was blowing up (no 3.0 version?), so I had to go with my gut. Gosh I wish I hadn't done that! Smitty's looks more or less like a Denny's or any other corporate diner. In the lobby is a framed picture that says "Voted Best Breakfast, 2007". The voting committee should be summarily executed, in my opinion. Even though it's full-service, at Smitty's they drop a thermos on your table and you pour your own coffee. If they seat you at a 2-person table don't dare order decaf if your partner orders regular! Two giant thermoses with all that sugar, syrup, creamer and jam on the table?! You'll have to hold your plate and eat standing up! Here's the best part: Apparently when the cooks were familiarizing themselves with the menu and saw the "Potato Pancakes" they thought that meant "pancake batter" + "shredded potatoes", as opposed to the more traditional version of potato pancakes (shredded potatoes, formed and pan-fried). Yeah, clearly they misunderstood the assignment, because it was simply alarming to behold and even worse to taste. I seriously wish I'd skipped it. It's been 12-15 years since I've lasted visited this restaurant, they are famous for their breakfast menu and I was impressed by the wide selection they had on their menu. They serve crepes, waffles, a variety of of different pancakes, skillets, a huge selection of omelets, steak & eggs, just to name a few. I opted for my favorite.. the Benedict.. Here was the situation... I had my option of either the regular Eggs Benny.. or the California Benny.... What's the difference you may ask..? Eggs Benedict is your regular english muffin with canadian bacon/ham, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce.. While the California Benedict consists of english muffin, a slice of tomato, a slice of avocado, a poached egg with a mild cheese sauce. Weird and strange were the first words out of my mouth, but it was a good and interesting combo. I've also been on a Waffle with strawberry and whip cream kick lately too, so I had to order a Belgium Waffle with the proper toppings and it was OK, next time I'm going to ask for the strawberries on the side tho.. I hate how they pour it on top and it makes my waffles soggy... soggy waffles make me sad... The customer service was OK, nothing spectacular.. and definitely nothing to write home about.. I think it maybe be another century before I come back again! read more
