We always have breakfast here when we're in town. The food is tasty and fresh, the view of the golf course is pretty, and we enjoy having a mimosa or Bloody Mary with breakfast, so we appreciate the bar. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and it's not that expensive. Nice to have lots of free parking, too. We'll be back! read more

Our favorite place for breakfast/brunch at the lake! Great, friendly service, VERY tasty food.....eggs Benedict and crunchy French toast are the bomb!!! We went back a few days later when our son visited us from Dallas. I got Eggs Benedict again! My husband and son ordered the French toast combo. Everyone left with happy bellies! So nice we had to go TWICE!! We wanted breakfast and our hotel wasn't serving bfast. I read reviews on Yelp and I'm so glad we tried it out. It's the perfect spot for a DELICIOUS breakfast. Truly the best food and bacon I've had out at a restaurant in a long time. It's obvious that the waitresses and chef care to please their customers. I noticed that there was a man in the same booth two days in a row, which shows me that people truly love this spot and are loyal customers. My family of 6 with 2 younger sisters was waiting for our food outside of the restaurant. The owner apparently lives right next door and owns chickens and bunnies that my younger sisters were admiring. She then ran across the parking lot and attacked me verbally and got in my face as a 22 year old female (she is an older woman about 60) telling me it's private property. I felt very threatened as she screamed for me to "leave her property". My family has lots of friends and family on the lake that frequent the hillbilly, which will be soon changed. It's unfortunate for the man who owns the Hillbilly, as his wife/the female that threatened me has no morals or any business skills resulting in us not visiting the he hillbilly every again. Hopefully she learns to be kind before she loses all business. (Or just stop being an alcoholic) read more

I have a delicious breakfast every time I visit. The view is nice, with an outside patio overlooking the golf course. The menu has a variety of everything. The grits are a must try. I never leave reviews. Haven't had this bad of service anywhere! Couldn't even get to the table before the hostess was so rude that we decided to take our money elsewhere. First thing, we called ahead to let them know our group of 10 were coming. We walked in the door and was greeted by a nice lady that went to prepare our table. While waiting another lady came and asked how many people we had and our niece let her know that we were already being helped by another person. This woman yelled at our 16 year old niece that she was the hostess and she would be seating us. She then took us off to another section from where we were told we would be seated then gave us 2 separate tables away from each other. We did ask if we could be seated in the other area where we were supposed to be and were told they would not accommodate us. We let her know we would not be dining there and would go somewhere where they would accommodate us and were told by multiple people on the way out "don't take it too seriously that's just how she is" IMO: I'm not spending my money to be treated like shit by anyone. read more

My favorite place to eat breakfast while at the lake was not at all the experience we had hoped. First, not sure how the hostess remains employed--awful customer service skills (we actually avoid Sundays knowing she is working--oops she works on holidays too). Second, we were waiting on our food for 2.5 hours; when we asked how much longer, the hostess came over and offered excuses with a poor attitude--no apology. Long time customers. Really like the Thursday pot roast. Also, have liked the Saturday chicken and what they call dumplings. Over the past months the deluxe salad that came with the chicken and dumplings has gotten smaller and smaller. Then today, no salad is included so we paid extra for the much smaller salad (which was included before)....and didn't get the basket of crackers that has always went with it. No big deal in the grand scheme of things, but this coupled with the loss of some great waitresses that made the visit very pleasurable and its just not that great of an experience. This is normally one of my favorite spots. But this Fourth of July was a real disappointment. Got there at 9:30 am and didn't leave till almost noon. Never seen such slow service. When we were served , the food was Luke warm and the hostess had the personality of a rattle snake. I know it was a holiday but they obviously weren't prepared.
