Apparently the Tuna Melt is superb! All three of my kids loved it! My husband said the mile high Chuckwagon Club was good as well. Awesome food hands down! This is a clean cute little place with a very friendly waitress and very informative. Hubby ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. He said it was one of the best he has had here at the lake! Very tender, no grissel or fat and cost $7.95. I devoured the Gold Rush Burger! This is hands down the best burger in Camdenton. It was big, juicy with great flavor and loaded with sauteed onions and mushrooms. It came with shoe string fries and only cost $5.95! We are definitely going back, want to go on Sunday for the Fried Chicken special and Friday for the Fish and Chips! So glad we decided to try them out as now we have a new great place for breakfast and lunch! Arguably the best breakfast in three counties; this isn't your average everyday hole in the wall diner. We originally planned on eating at RJ"s which in its own right is an excellent place to hang your proverbial breakfast hat but the packed parking lot encouraged us to give the Chuck Wagon Cafe a shot and I'm sure glad the universe worked in our favor that day. The cafe is cute but if I were to spruce up the atmosphere I would have wood floors and rustic wood chairs, tables and booths. That was just an observation and not necessarily a complaint. Sometimes the decor alone will have two friends who tell two friends who tell two friends. We are a visual society and I would say with those minor upgrades this would be a destination to be reckoned with. Now here is why WHO CARES ABOUT THE STINKING DECOR!!! The food was amazing and the staff was friendly and attentive. More importantly they actually cared about their customers. I listened intently (eavesdropping and all) to one waitress ask a gentlemen patron if everything went well at his doctor appointment. Just like Cheers... "Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name" and these ladies cared enough to do just that. I ordered the side winder and though it was big enough to feed two I managed to polish it off myself!!! My husband was not so aggressive with his special of the day but he managed half and half for later.
