Fantastic brewery! Beers were awesome, service fast and more than friendly. Had three types of wings, each flavor were great, but the Mango Habanero ones were by far the best we've ever had! Waiting next door for our Togo food at Bluebonnet cafe) figures we could stop in and see what this place is about. WOW the food looks amazing! I can't help but look around at the variety of what everyone is eating. They seem to have everything from burgers, nachos. Tacos, salads, burgers and wings. Melissa went over the whole food menu with me and James took care of me @ the bar and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys his job and has a passion for what he does. He was very friendly and attentive and knows about his beer! Hard to meet genuine people these days to have friendly conversation with. Traveled from Georgetown and will definitely be back next time when we have more time! This place is legit! We were visiting for the weekend and celebrating two birthdays. Our first visit was awesome so we came back for a second time. The beer was very good and we all enjoyed our meals both times. Turkey burger, burgers, wings, carnitas tacos were flavored perfectly! Wish there was a brewery this outstanding in McKinney, Texas that served such outstanding bar food. Also, they have the COVID protocol totally under control. The outside covered patio space is great! Literally the worst meal I've had in a very long time. The queso was bitter and too salty. The brisket tacos were embarrassing. The brisket was not smoked at all and though I can recognize that smoking it is not the only acceptable preparation of brisket, without a disclaimer "brisket" in this part of the country, and more specifically in this part of the state, means smoked meat. The brisket served in these tacos was stewed, like a pot roast. Actually if I didn't know from it being stated in the menu I would have believed it was a pot roast in a tortilla. What a refreshing find in Marble Falls! After a day on LBJ, we were starving and decided to try something new. We noticed the brewery the night before while dining at the Famous Bluebonnet Cafe. My husband pulled up the menu, and we decided to go for it. The space, which looked new, was Beautifully, simply decorated with plenty of space for social distancing. We were warmly welcomed, and instructed to place our order online and have a seat at our table. Even though the app alerted us that our meal would be ready in 30 minutes, it arrived moments later. I had the carnitas tacos and the were deliciously amazing. Tender roasted pork all dressed up with homemade slaw, peppered black beans and a sprinkle of corn. The flavors were so well balanced. I cannot wait to eat those tacos again. My husband ordered a brisket burger. It came topped with picked onions, what I assumed were homemade pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and slow smoked brisket. All on top of a big fat juicy, perfectly cooked burger. He smacked away as the juice ran down his arms. How could I resist the offer of a bite? Next to his burger was the perfect foil, a pile of fries adorned with Parmesan cheese and accompanied by a garlic aioli that I would love to be able to recreate at home. What a meal! As we finished and patted ourselves on the back for finding this hidden gem, I scoured the website to find who to thank for this marvelous treat. At the same moment, a masked young man approached the table. He inquired about our food and we gushed all over him. He then informed us that he was the general manager and the pork recipe was indeed his. I thanked him for the experience and as we left with a handful of bear king stickers, I turned to saw through the window that he himself was clearing our table. Well done young chef. Just tried 4 of their beers and brisket nachos for lunch. The nachos were delicious and a very generous portion, perfect for splitting. The beers are top notch! Especially liked the peach milkshake IPA. It's a beautiful large place probably very fun during non Covid times. Still loved it even with Covid especially because social distancing was very easy and they had a large covered patio. Everything was spotless and all ordering online from the table reducing contact and also very easy! Can't wait to go back! read more

Everything at Bear King Brewing is top notch! I came two separate days over Grand Opening Weekend with a large group and had a blast. You can really tell the owners put a lot of thought and effort into the place. The food is excellent, the beer is refreshing and easy to drink, the live music was killer (both days!), and the overall atmosphere was fun, family-friendly, and focused on having a good time. Personal favorites: Food: Grizzly Queso, Texas Poutine, Smoked Chicken Wings, Brisket Tacos Beer: Wandering Blonde Ale, Bird's Word Pecan Porter Just as a side note, I really love the branding and logo as well. In the past this has not been one of my favorite places--I hadn't felt like there were enough dark brews or healthy food choices. Not so this visit! A great selection of beers and I had one of the best salads (with delicious grilled chicken added) that I've had in months and even had enough left over to take home. Granted my bar has been significantly lowered since the pandemic began in that my first criteria is how safe do I feel eating somewhere. After spending an hour at the Marble Falls car show where 75% of the exhibitors and spectators were not wearing masks, I felt more than safe at Bear King Brewing. The fact that the food and beers were fantabulous was a huge plus. My kudos to the chef and brewmaster and thank you to the wait staff for keeping up with the latest COVID practices. Good food but was disappointed with small portions. Also the way they're doing "covid friendly service" was frustrating; you have to order on your phone without a waiter and there is not enough info about the food on the website or many places for requests like put the sauce on the side, etc. The cherry on top was that a tip (and not a small one) is automatically added to the already expensive bill ($20 or more a person if get any appetizer) and we couldn't find any way to adjust the amount, which is extra frustrating since you don't actually have a waiter. Summary - Good food, but won't come back til Covid stuff is over. read more

They have the COVID-19 precautions figured out! All employees in masks, hand sanitizer in multiple locations, tables spread out, and asking customers to comply. The ordering is done online on your phone. I sat outside on the covered patio and felt safe and had excellent service and food. I ordered a burger with bacon, mushrooms, and gruyere cheese and a side King salad. Fabulous! It was so nice to get out again. Will definitely return soon. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Marble Falls! Even during the pandemic we have continued to visit at least once a month! I dropped it one star because they have never served water until recently. For a while they charged for the water. Now they bring you one very tiny water. I think they'd benefit from buying some glasses and serving a big tall glass of water in this Texas heat! We were seated outside in 108 degree heat and not brought any. When asked they acted as if they were doing us a huge favor by getting some (but didn't get any), and stated it should've already been brought out (it wasn't). I recommend bringing your own bottled water! I was much happier this past visit when I had my own. read more

Probably the best food in Marble Falls. Their act is together and style is awesome. Oh, and don't forget the beer bar. Total Texas style restaurant with perfectly balanced spices. Yummy !! My wife had the shrimp tacos and I had the brisket burger. She loved the tacos sooo much that she would only give me a small sample. My brisket burger was tasty and all I could eat. The fries were also great even if my wife did eat half of them. I didn't try the beer since it was before noon, but I shall return. This place has a lot of potential and I'd like to see them make a "go" of it in MF. Good restaurants are limited here and this would be a great addition to the choices. I would like to see them expand the menu a little even if it meant adding additional help to get the food out fast. We have become a nation of "immediacy" where waiting for food is not well tolerated. I will be back to try some of their beer. read more

Hit and miss. We really like coming here, even with the drive from LHill. Great outdoor seating. Burgers are great. Beer is good. Hummus not so much(they need to work on this). Have enjoyed other apps and salads as well. When sitting outside, don't expect any service other than your food/drink order being delivered after ordering at the station inside or through your phone(which is kind of a pain). Requires new check/payment each time you want something. So typically 3 times if ordering app/drinks, meal, another round of drinks. Automatically adds 20% tip...for what?? Dropping food/drinks off? Have never been asked how things are, or if we need anything (wouldn't help unless it's not something you would pay for). Have never had a manager come by. I could understand these ordering methods due to covid but now it's just annoying. Today, had to stop someone returning from delivering to another table to let him know our burger was missing the jalapeños that should have come on it(not a special order). Burger was cold at this point since we had to wait to actually see someone. Let him know and asked him to bring a new burger please. He brought out a small cup of ice cold jalapeños to put on our cold burger. Did it so quickly we couldn't even let him know this wouldn't work. By the time someone came back out we relented and ate the cold burger. They already got their 20% tip so what do they care. I have come to hate places that are functioning without providing great service. They think they aren't busy because of covid. Wrong, plenty of places are slammed through covid because they are doing it right. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant so quickly but the food is really low quality compared to when they opened. The Green Bird tacos were inedible. Chicken was bland like it had been boiled or was old. Cole slaw actually tasted like mayo. They were out of Queso. You have to serve your own water which they were out of as well. Took 15 minutes to refill it. My kids chicken tenders were clearly from a bag and had been frozen. read more

Good burger & fries but a few problems. First, and a pet peeve of mine, the self-entry digital pay screen at the order counter flashed large banners calculating (and apparently expecting) 10%, 20% and 30% tips for ZERO service. Customers walk up to order, return to pick up their food (at least I was told to), get their own water, etc. The word "tip" was derived as a reward for good service, not an entitlement for people doing ordinary counter jobs or a substitute for low-paying fast food joints. (We don't tip supermarket checkers, hotel clerks or mechanics--more highly skilled than most fast food workers--unless they do something extra.) They didn't offer brewed iced tea (a staple in Texas). Finally, my burger was presented to me at the pickup counter with the top of the bun face down on the tray paper with lettuce, tomato and onion underneath it, making it inconvenient to assemble the burger. My suspicious mind suspects that was related to my politely mentioning that I rarely tip at counters, but maybe not. A pleasant busperson collected our empty dishes. The place is new; we may return to see whether or not they've learned how to present a bun full of vegetables. read more

I had previously written a review describing my disappointment with the meatball sized hamburger my husband and son ordered. Grant was very accommodating in asking us to try the Bear King again as they had made some changes and I promised I would update my review once we did. Well I can't seem to find my previous review - so here is the updated one as promised. The visit was a definite 180 from the previous one. The burgers are delicious, the fries even better and their beer is outstanding. My husband and I have actually been back several times since then and we would HIGHLY recommend visiting the Bear King. read more
