An anecdote if you'll allow it: A millionaire's yacht engine breaks. No one can fix it; so they bring in a mechanic with 40 years experience. She looks the engine up and down, takes out a small hammer and gives it a few taps. The engine roars back to life! A week later our millionaire gets a bill for $10,000. He can't believe it; and asks for an itemized bill. What he gets back reads: Tap with hammer = $2. Knowing where to tap = $9,998. An inescapable fact: [modern] cars are expensive, complex machines. If they were simple, there'd be no need for mechanics. It's not the tapping that's expensive, it's knowing where and how to tap. Where I admit I struggled is that the fix was to reconnect the actuator, and the bill came back for $165 (all in - one hour of labor). Despite the price, I realize full well: 1. There was a process in getting to the issue, and then verifying it was fixed, involving both road and shop testing. 2. The reality was likely more technical that itemized in the invoice. My Ikea desk seems it would be ~10 parts coming together in under 30 minutes no sweat. In reality it took two people two hours, intermingled with profanities. 3. Tapping with a hammer (reconnecting a part) is easy, having the skill set to determine how and where to tap is not.

They towed my car a second time at the property where I live even though I had the sticker attached on the back window. We have two spots that are for visitors and with a "no parking sign " attached in the wall. I parked there because my normal spot was covered with the snow. I didn't have no other options where to park so I parked in one of the two spots that are for visitors.. even though I had the sticker on, they towed me because the sign no parking. They didn't think twice or think about why I was parked there. It was my first time using one of those spots just because my normal spot was covered with snow That no parking sign is there just for other cars that doesn't belong to the property. They did that just because of money. They tow because they want money.. they don't care if you are a resident. I pay for parking and for rent. They just need the money . They are using their service to take advantage of the residence towing them. Biondi's people instead of helping the residents doing a good service they tow us . This is so unacceptable for someone that is a RESIDENT. I wasn't parked of blocking any emergency parking spot, or taking someone else's spot . Biondi's tow because they need the money only. In no time, he hooked up his gadgets and told me it was a censor and let me know that it wasn't an emergency and what my options were. I brought my vehicle in for what I assumed would be a basic inspection and maintenance. Not only did they completely mishandle the situation, but their actions--or lack thereof--put me in a dangerous and costly situation. First off, the shop returned my vehicle and told me it was in good shape and needed no repairs. The mechanic, Wayne, looked me in the eyes and assured me everything was fine. That turned out to be a major lie. Less than 24 hours later, while I was working and driving on the highway--50 miles from home--my vehicle broke down completely and would not start. I had to call AAA and pay $175 out of pocket to have it towed, with two of my employees inside the truck. This was not only an inconvenience but also a loss of time, money, and trust. To make matters worse, Leo & Walt's failed to take my contact information when they took my keys. I had to go back to their shop just to find out what was going on--completely unprofessional and avoidable had they simply taken five seconds to get my number. After taking the vehicle to a different, far more trustworthy shop, I found out the actual issue: bad spark plugs, a faulty coil pack, and two leaks--one from the brake fluid system and one from the power steering. All of this should have been caught by any decent mechanic. Wayne, the head mechanic, was consistently rude, dismissive, and disrespectful throughout the entire process. I also felt that I was treated differently and unfairly based on personal bias and prejudice. I do not use this word lightly, but the treatment I received had unmistakable racial undertones. It's unacceptable in any context--especially in a professional setting. Giving my car to Leo & Walt's was one of the worst decisions I've made. They put my safety and livelihood at risk, cost me hundreds of dollars in avoidable expenses, and treated me with a total lack of respect or professionalism. I would strongly urge others to avoid this shop at all costs.
