I think the best challahs I've had are from Kosher Style bakeries and I got their 2 for 1 challah deal. The ube challah actually tastes like ube, unlike many other bakeries where the bread is just purple without much flavor. Their gluten-free black and white cookies are even better than many regular black and white cookies I've had. They also offer gluten-free hamantaschen and Linzer cookies.

Several days ago I decided to try Bea's Bakery due to their various UBE flavored desserts on their Yelp page. Bakery was busy during lunch time and one of the ladies behind the counter finally acknowledged me after a couple minutes of me perusing their selection. I decided on a slice of the ube cheesecake brownie, ube biscoff brownie, slice of cube cake and ube cookie (not pictured). Good ube favors in the brownies. I wasn't impressed with the cake and the cookie, as the density of the cookie had me thinking it was old. I'd maybe come back for both the ube brownies. Each dessert was about $5. Crowded parking lot during lunch time, but free. Casual and a bit dated bakery, with no indoor seating to enjoy a pastery.

This quaint little bakery, tucked away on the corner, smells of delicate pastries, freshly baked bread and buttery rugelach. You take a number and wait your turn, it's always bustling here. Free samples are usually on the counter. Today's sample was purple ube bread. Soft and sweet with that unmistakable ube flavor. I got chocolate rugelach, rolled pastry cookies filled with semi sweet chocolate. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Everything looked appetizing and it smelled so delicious inside. The brownies, black and white cookies I recommend, the carrot cake and cake pops as well. The lace cookies too, those are phenomenal, very rich toffee taste with that dark chocolate. Chewy and addictive. My only critique is that it's very overpriced. For 4 rugelach it was $5. They are small too. Flavor wise though, they are tasty. Just make sure what you get is fresh, the breads and pastries only last 2-3 days, especially if you cover them well.

I came here during the Halloween time to try some cookies and they did not disappoint. I would definitely come back here to try the different options. I do like that this bakery has a variety of flavors. Especially flavors I have never tried. They also provide samples occasionally of their breads which is really fun to try and taste before you purchase. I will have to come back here when I'm in the area.

A solid bakery right off Ventura blvd that seems to be busy no matter what time of day you visit! I've been craving black and white cookies and not many places have them but Bea's does! But once I entered the bakery, saw all the pastries and cookies and breads, and got hit with that amazing sweet smelling aroma, I had to get a few more things! Sadly, the black and white cookies were just okay. The cookies themselves were more cake like, sure some people like that but my personal preference I enjoy the denser, "thick" cookie style. The icing was also pretty soft and more creamy than the royal icing most other bakeries use. Flavors were great though I just wouldn't come back here for these cookies specifically. I also tried my first Russian tea cake with raspberry and raising filling. This was delicious! Dense, soft, buttery pastry filled with the tart and sweet jam and fruits, it was surprisingly great. I also absolutely loved the confetti cookie and linzer raspberry cookie. Neither was overly sweet, while the confetti cookie had a strong vanilla flavor that I love, and the linzer had tart jam spread throughout the crumbly cookies. All these items were $16.75 and served by a great staff member who helped me and answered any questions I had. read more

AMAZING bakery located inside Mort's Deli. I came and wanted a rye bread to go and they had about four different kinds to choose from. They had an option to slice it regular or thin. I also couldn't leave without grabbing one of their huge lemon bars. I wish I had gotten 2 because it was so good. The perfect amount of sweet and sour at the same time. I also got some mini rainbow cakes for myself. I want to try it all! They had some amazing cakes for display and you can also order ahead of time for bigger orders. Bea's is hands-down the best in town! They always have everything I love - even near the end of day! I am a sucker for their cookies, cannolis, brownies (and everything else) because they also come in special seasonal flavors (I got pumpkin today and always go back for their peppermint brownies when they have them!) Bea's Bakery is absolutely amazing. We moved from the Valley to the Westside and we still come back to Bea's for our bread and baked treats. Whether we are looking for holiday specialities, or just a regular pick-me-up, we can always count on Bea's to have just what we are looking for. Talk about an LA Institution. One of the best bakeries in all of SoCal is Bea's Bakery. My family and I have been visiting for three decades and some of my fondest Childers memories involving getting cookies, cakes and other delicious desserts from them. They've always been consistent customer service-wise and the quality has remained consistent. Although not Kosher, they bake everything fresh in rich Jewish tradition with plenty of options for cookies, cakes, etc. The Bavarian chocolate, challahs and the black & white cookies are mouth-watering delicious! read more

Inflation at its finest, been coming here for years just for the bagels and to support a local business, always get a dozen bagels and it's been roughly $17. Today I was smacked with a new price of $27 for 12 bagels. When asked why the price hike I was told due to inflation they now buy the bagels from wester bagel company and turn around and sell them at Bae's. Wanted something special for the Holidays. Ordered on line three days in advance. Peach pie - delicious!- Strawberry Shortcake - beautiful looking and light & fluffy. Both exceptional. Went to pick up day before Thanksgiving and they had hundreds of orders stacked up on racks. I showed my order # and gave my name and they found my package easily. I recommend ordering in advance because there was a line out the door down the block. Parking is in the lot behind the store. Super busy lot. Not a fancy store but I'd say they deserve their excellent reputation. Will go again. Btw was $60 - pie, cake and two bear claws. Not cheap! read more

My go to for hamentashen has always been Bea's. But I'm super disappointed at my last purchase. The flavor of the cookie is off and the filling seems so old. I don't go as often because I'm not supposed to have too much sugar so sometimes I'll allow an indulgence. Even the chocolate chip horn I got didn't seem as good as before. If the recipes have changed, then you have done yourself a disfavor Bea's bakery. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Sa'id who is part of the family owned business and such a nice young gentleman! He welcomed me in and shared with me what makes their bakery a cut above the rest. For starters they are not a French bakery. It is an eastern European style bakery which most likely means that the baked goods are heartier, dense and more substantial in texture I would say. Their croissant was more dense than a typical french croissant which is light, airy and flakey. Sa'id offered for me to try a small sliver of their napoleon soft cake and it was amazing! I bought a regular cinnamon bun and the pistachio tiramisu. I really appreciated that the cinnamon bun wasn't overly sweet. I heated it in the microwave for about 8 seconds and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. The pistachio tiramisu was also very very good! A beautiful blend of coffee flavor with hints of pistachio flavor. In fact, it was OUTSTANDING! Best tiramisu my husband and I have ever tasted! Everything is carefully handmade with lots of care and love. There were some beautiful cakes in the display. They take special orders for any occasion. They also have specialty drinks and savory pastries to select from. The shop is small with a couple tables inside and some outdoor tables with chairs. Also open 7 days a week! The bakery might be great as I have never been there. HOWEVER, ONE OF THEIR DRIVERS TRIED TO RUN ME OFF THE ROAD. I was on the freeway at a busy time and got in front of him (used my blinker and did not cut him off). He got up on my bumper and when I had to brake because the car in front of me was breaking, he decided the follow me as I was exiting the freeway and try and run his car into me on the freeway. We will see if the manager does anything about it. That is unacceptable and I should contact the police. He endangered my life and the lives of others because he was having a bad morning. I don't know how anyone could give Beas anything less than 5 stars! I've been going here for over 30 years - since I was a kid, and it is the BEST bakery ever. Their onion bagels are to die for, as are there black and white cookies too!!!! I mean, I really have so many favorites. I love that it's been 30 years and you still wait the same way - by pulling an old school number from the red dispenser and wait for it to be called! Everything was covid-19 compliment! So disappointing since new owners. Ive been going to this bakery for over 40 years. It's my second time back since the new owners. It is NOT the same . The first time I got a birthday cake that not only looked pathetic tasted terrible. The frosting is NOT the same. The second time , I got rainbow cookies . The cookies first off were stale. Had a different taste to them. I also purchased some football cookies that looked like they were made by a toddler . For the first time in several years birthday cakes will not be coming from Beas . In the height of the Corona virus these idiots remain open but refuse to allow a phone or online order. Thanks so much for insisting that high risk and sick individuals come in to your crowded community because you are all about money. I have been going to Bea's Bakery since I was a kid. They have the best black & white cookies ever made. All of their pastries are baked there and fresh daily. I am giving it only 4 stars because they don't accept credit or debit cards and that is very inconvenient. However, it is well worth it for you to show up with cash because it is impossible to go there and not purchase some of their fresh bread, and some pastries along with their amazing black & white cookies. read more

Although this bakery is delicious I was eating a white cookie that I bought yesterday and I found a hair in the cookie!! Bea's is a treasure in today's world of mass manufactured baked products. Everything is made onsite and with care. You won't find a bettery bakery in LA. Period. We travel 50 miles from Ventura County to get family birthday cakes from Bea's. Prices are super reasonable and the quality is unmatched. To hell with big chain store baked products! I have been coming here my entire life...over 40 years!!! This was my favorite bakery when I was a little girl, and still is today.
