Came here for a bonding activity for our group. There is a lot of seating upstairs as well as a couple games that our team enjoyed while waiting for other groups to finish. We did one of the rooms that had a level 8 difficulty. The staff who was helping our room was super nice but as a first timer at an escape room, I was kind of confused at the video and where to start. The video that explained the challenge was also a little finicky, making it hard to watch. The walls in this section are also pretty thin as we could hear a lot of the other groups when we were trying to solve different challenges. We escaped and had about three minutes left! There are unlimited clues and you can hit a button for a new clue to show up on the TV.

We did The Mummy room and escaped! Just beware that room is full of sand, so wear shoes you're ok getting sandy. The staff were friendly and informative. We were a smaller group, so another small group was added to us. We were able to work together well even though we'd just met.

Unique experience with friends in this fun escape room activity at @TheEscapeGame ! * 60 minutes to escape! * Up to 8 friends for each game! * 8 different games to choose from! * Different levels are available! We had so much fun trying to find clues and solve puzzles with friendly competition!

This was a date day for us. We drove up and had a blast. I think it's really cute that they have games in the waiting area while you wait for your turn. We did the titanic room and it was pretty cool. I wish it was more to find in there but it was my boyfriend and I and another couple. I'm really happy there was no one else there. That room with the level of difficultly only needed the 4 people. I enjoyed it and we escaped with 15 mins left to spare. I would go back again.

Incredibly designed rooms and amazing staff! Matt, Abby, Jenae, and Sam were an awesome team and made our date night extremely special! We definitely recommend considering this as a great family/friends bonding experience for everyone, totally worth the time and money! During the weekdays a second game is 40٪ off, so we did 2!

Had a great time at the Escape Room with my friend. We opted to try out the Curse of the Mummy. We went midday on a Wednesday and had the game all to ourselves. Zane was our host and was extremely helpful throughout the experience. He was extremely friendly and welcoming. This location has a bar with snacks and wine and beer. They also have a huge game room area for fun before and after your experience. We had a lunch reservation following our game but were offered a couple of different options. The first was 20% off a gift card for a future booking. The second was 50% off another game if we stayed to play again. I'm excited to return to this location and try out a few other rooms. Zane allowed us to get a sneak peek before leaving!

Came here a random Saturday night. Don't have any pics from inside, just from the games we played while we waited. That was a good addition, there were plenty of games to occupy yourself while you waited for your time slot and a cash bar. The actual escape room was fun. I think ours was the Titanic or something like that. Was good times. You should go and check it out. The staff was extremely friendly. You should have a good time.

    Titanic room!

Ask the Community - The Escape Game DC - Georgetown

Is this place okay for kids say 10 and 14 years old?

Yes! They enjoy it very much with some adult assistance.

If we book a room and nobody else signed up for the same slot, will we get the room to ourselves?

    Yes

Is there a certain amount of people needed to do it? We're a family of 3 only so we were wondering if we could do it or do we need more people?

you can definitely go as a group of 3. My fiance and I like to do rooms just with the two of us, you get to solve more puzzles that way :) I'd say go for the most empty room possible!

I think they take reservations but we were able to grab a bar spot. Are drinks pricey? What do you think? It's a cocktail bar in DC. The drinks we tried were pretty tasty, even the mezcal one which I thought was a refreshing take. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

The space itself is famous for having political caricature artwork all over the restaurant, and they even give you fun caricature coasters that you can take home with you as a souvenir. Because it's a popular underground spot, it can definitely get incredibly busy and cramped in there. I've been multiple times, and almost every single time it is tough to find a spot to sit. However, I did come once during an off-peak time, right in the middle of the week around 1:00 PM for lunch--and it wasn't to busy, so we were easily able to just sit right at the bar.  I would definitely recommend checking this place out! While the tight crowds can make it a bit tough on a busy week day or weekend night, it is completely worth experiencing at least once for the great drinks, good food, and unique atmosphere.

For planning purposes, you are within walking distance to Freedom Plaza, Lafayette Park, and a direct path to the Washington Monument. The food here is very good, but what you're paying for is the rich history of the establishment and great customer service. Our server, Peter, was very knowledgeable of the restaurant history and menu, friendly, and engaged us in organic conversation. The management team was also very friendly and engaging. Some of the best customer service you can experience in DC. The recipes and menu options are simple, but the execution is what makes this place an easy return for diners. They are known for their seafood here, oysters in particular, with a solid selection of staples. The biggest value is perhaps lunch as there are a few options around $20 that are filling and delicious; beating similar pricing for lunch at other places, but at a lesser value. The interior is characteristic of 20th century American midwest saloon. A lot of Victorian decor with mahogany wood throughout. Much of the character of the restaurant is built on this idea. The restaurant group has done a good job of preserving what seems to be original interior and exterior design from the previous occupant, the B. F. Keith's Theater. There's a downstairs which has space for private dining, and there are multiple bars indoors, an atrium, and lounge all which the latter are operated by Old Ebbitt Grill. Overall, a very good experience for good good and a history lesson.

Inside had small tables and a kinda casual cocktail bar vibe Beef Noodles - the highlight and actually very good! The noodles are long and handmade and chewy. They hold onto the sauce very well! The sauce has a slight kick and is very savory. The beef is soft and also flavorful! I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10
