Matt Beatty -- what a gem. It's hard to express my sincerest appreciation for Matt without sounding like a crazy person. He is incredible. We had two real estate transactions where we hired him. He was thorough and made us his highest concern. He located moistness in a few walls, leaking skylights, siding put on incorrectly, and much, much more. In the height of the summer 2020 market his inspection was able to get us a $15,000 credit. It was unheard of to even get anything fixed at that point in the market. He knows his stuff. I was happy with my home inspection from Matt, just as a tip, I'd recommend asking him for a sample report: the best part is the fact that he takes pictures to visually document things in the report, and a lot of other home inspections are just text. Matt did the inspection for a house we were purchasing. Based on his inspection that the house had no major issues we purchased it. $50,000 later and counting we came to realize all of the major problems he failed to include in his report. Like insufficient heating and air conditioning vents, faulty plumbing, sinking driveway, mal-functioning furnace. Too many to list. We finally got him to come look at the problems a year later! He stood by his report even though we showed him all that he missed. We filed a complaint with NYS Division of Licensing and the BBB. Don't use him, and if you did and are having problems you need to let him know within the year of his inspection, as per his contract. Also notice that he has no physical business address on his inspection report. It only says Rye, NY. Beware. read more
