I came here after a 2 years search of looking for anyone who would be able to handle my platinum blonde locks. I moved a few years back from Texas and have never been able to find a Boston hairdresser who could tend to my locks...until I found ANTOINETTE here! I came in a few weeks ago hoping that number 14 was going to be the lucky one. I called after hoping up and down Newbury street with let me tell you NO luck what so ever. After an online search I saw that this salon has been around for over 20 years, there had to be something to say about that, right? Boy was # 14 lucky...I called in and spoke to a lovely girl at the front who really knew her stuff. Let me tell you I was in rare form when venting to this poor soul. She listened and I felt her sincerity even over the phone. She had a few "go to " staff members who she felt could tackle my main successfully. Based on my schedule we chose Antoinette...I thought may heaven bless this woman. Needless to say I booked the appointment for the next day and was pleasantly surprised by the booking process...maybe there's hope? I walked in, climbed some stairs to the second floor salon, they do have an elevator for those of you who do not want some exercise. I was warmly welcomed by a very trendy group of ladies...my initial thought...I hope I end up looking like them! I sat and was handed a glossy stack of magazines and some water. I was quickly greeted by a bubbly blonde, I felt GREAT after all she was a platinum blonde too. Finally I felt at ease...I explained that I wanted the "Jessica Simpson" blonde and she just got it. She mixed some color applied and talked me through her entire process. Now at the shampoo sink with the happiest gentleman I have ever seen in a hair salon...it was that time to remove the towel and see what she thought was JS hair. To my relief I am now the brightest blonde on the block. I have no damage and somehow she made my hair shine, not an easy task for us bleached out ladies. I am now on a 4 week cycle and I have referred half my newly made Boston friends to the BEST salon on Newbury street. Note - they have a full service spa that I am dying to try. I hear the facials are something to write home about...maybe another yelp review is on the horizon. read more

I was recommended to visit Beaucage from a friend who raved about the owner Dean, however when I called I was open to their suggestions on a specified person for me. The girl who booked the appointment for me asked me a few questions about my hair and booked me with a girl named Emily. Smooth booking process, check 1! I arrived for my appointment and was welcomed by a cheery group of ladies at the front desk (unlikely at MOST Newbury street salons). I was shown around, handed a robe and given some coffee to enjoy in the waiting area. Looking around, the salon was clean, inviting and I felt very posh being a part of their world. Once I was greeted by Emily she was welcoming and seemed confident, I knew I was in good hands. I asked for a deep red and for her to add a few layers to my overgrown mess...My whole appointment was enjoyable and once she spun me around in my chair, I was in shock! Someone actually got the deep plum red I had been vying for and I had volume for days. I walked to the desk with a smile plastered on my face and to my surprise the front desk girls were still as happy as when I walked in earlier. They asked me to rebook...how could I resist? I rebooked for 8 weeks and I swear I walked down Newbury street skipping. To make my night even better my hubby couldn't stop telling me how great I looked. Ladies, you who long for a Brazilian bikini wax that won't traumatize, Beaucage is the place to go. I've heard nothing but good things about all the aestheticians there. I always ask for Katherine. You will be shocked by the relatively low price for this procedure--but don't be fooled; in this case, low price doesn't mean cheap quality. Never have I felt so relaxed and unself-conscious while having hair ripped out by the roots. The atmosphere is warm and quiet, and Katherine's bedside manner is comforting. She works lightning-fast but with a surgeon's precision, and where other's courage may fail, Katherine will boldly go. The one time I got my hair done there (cut, color, highlight & lowlight, blow dry and style), I walked out feeling like a 10-karat rock star who was princess for a day, but my wallet suffered for it. I got a picture of the 'do to preserve the moment, but I can't afford to get my hair done there anymore. Also, since the salon is relatively small, I felt like one little island in the middle of a crazy storm, and my stylist spent a lot of time talking to other clients whom he seemed to know. I love my hair! I had a gift certificate in my house for an entire year! Why didnt I use it earlier!!!! Well, because to be honest I was super nervous to try a new place!! I had been going to another salon on the street for awhile, my hair was a great chesnut brown and over time my other stylist somehow made it black!! So I had to switch, thats when my gift certificate came in handy!!!! I brought pictures of the brown I had & I was praying I could get it! I walked in & the front desk was casual & polite. I was there to see a lady named Suzie, I requested for them to book me with someone there for awhile. (meaning not a new person to mess up my hair even more!) She was very friendly & had tons of energy! She put me at ease and informed me on how she was going to go about this process & also gave me an estimate on the final price. She was surprisingly able to removve the black & it was perfect. She was very fast also! I highly recommend her for color! I didnt get a cut at the time because I was nervous for the color, but after my day at the salon I will def go back. Their stylists are highly trained, with years of experience, and dedicated to their craft. Judey Cunha, a master stylist, is THE BEST -- her cuts are phenomenal. Throughout the years, I've had numerous hairstyles, from a traditional "bob" cut to long layers, and Judey's always executed them perfectly. Janelle Parker and Troy Myers are also favorites of mine because of their expertise and talent. I've had color and special-occasion updo's with them over the past few years and have absolutely loved the look each time. Check out the spa services, too. Lyuda's manicures have "saved" my nails from their once paper-thin and brittle state. And while no brazilian wax is ever pain-free, theirs is definitely much less painful than any other I've tried (I think they use some kind of special wax). They also sell Moroccanoil and Redken products, which I love! Overall, Beaucage is THE place to visit if you're looking for excellent quality services and products in Boston...it's my one-stop-shop and I highly recommend it. I hope you enjoy it, too. read more

I came on to write a review about one of my favorite places to go, Beaucage. Before I wrote my comments, I decided to read some from others. I have to say I have no idea where some of the negative comments came from. I know each person has their own experiences and expectations, but I have been a client of Beaucage for my hair, nails and waxing for over a year and have NEVER left unhappy. That is not to say that there have not been an issue or two, but these have ALWAYS been handled quickly, quietly and professionally. I do agree that the waiting area is on the small side, and always filled to capacity, but I look at that as a testament to how good these people are and not as a negative. Do you really want to visit a salon that has no clients? As far as the desk goes, I find it refreshing to be greeted by people who are friendly and down to earth, unlike most salons on Newbury Street who seem to think they are doing you a favor by allowing you to have them take care of you. I would suggest that you go to Beaucage and find out for yourself instead of relying on a few comments left, mine or theirs! read more

BEST EXTENSIONS BY SUZIE!!!!!!! I am in love with my hair!!!!!!!!!!! I am not a regular client of Beaucage but heard thatt they do great extensions. So I booked a complementary consult with Suzie Mello. she was great! She examined the conditon of my hair, she educated on the different types of extensions there are out there in the salon industry. She KNOWS HER STUFF! She gave me price options, and we talked about adding length or just thickness, there are much more options for us fine hair ladies that is for sure!!! she matched my hair and gave me my choices. I had to think about it cause the cost was a bit high but the quality of hair is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I told her I would think about it, I was not pressured at all, and i ended up calling back that day to order them! She even came in on her off day so we could get them done earlier since she was booked for a couple weeks. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!! We decided to just get a few bunches of them for thickness and added about 1 inch! My hair needed this!!!!! I will continue enhancing my hair with these beautiful extensions!!! I have had my hair cut and colored for over twenty years by Henry at Beaucage Salon. He is and has been amazing all these years! I first met him after a modeling agency on newbury street recommended him when he was working at another salon in Boston called La Tete Salon on Newbury street... I have followed him ever since! There have been times in my life when I have moved to other cities...and along the way was recommended local stylists by friends... and 90% of the time, the cut didnt come out right or the color was a disaster. I always return to Henry when I am in town and he not only repairs the cut but also colors my hair exactly as I ask him to. And while I receive my treatment, I love to talk to him as well... he is a very cool person! There have been times where I have had to cancel last minute, and the staff at the front desk, and Henry, have been beyond accomodating of which I am extremely appreciative. I can not say enough good things about Henrys skills... he is, quite simply, the best stylilst I have ever been to, in the entire country! I highly recommend him! read more

I had tried a fair amount of salons over the years but had yet to find the perfect one. I am very particular about my eyebrows and had aways been disappointed after getting them done (I ended up having to tweeze whatever the esthetician missed) until I went to Beaucage. I am hooked and will never go to another salon! My first experience was perfect mainly because of Karen, my esthetician. I was lucky enough to have her my first visit at Beaucage and refuse to see anyone else! She cares so much about her client's happiness and satisfaction. I had to reschedule an appointment due to my hectic work schedule and have been late on a few occasions but she always is flexible and makes our schedules work. She is incredibly careful and precise, always making sure to shape my eyebrows exactly how I want them done. I look forward to getting my eyebrows done because of how relaxing she makes the experience; she's so gentle! Karen is an incredibly talented esthetician with a great personality. 5+++ Stars for Katherine! Just had my first bikini wax there and she was amazing. Super friendly and really put me at ease. She genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in her work and in making repeat customers (aka ME). Even after reading reviews on Yelp, I was still a little nervous going into it and I am already officially hooked. Will not go to anyone but her for a bikini and am already sold on letting her do a brazilian. We talked the entire time and next thing you know we were done (my morning wait in line at Starbucks was more painful.) She is just AMAZING! I can not recommend her enough. The hard wax made a huge difference and the fact that she was beyond comfortable and experienced also made it that much better of an experience. The salon itself was clean and the receptionists were very friendly. As for the price, way less than I had expected going into it ($35). I don't think I can say enough good things about her and the salon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! read more

I've been to my share of salons in Boston and Beucage has the best people and prices by far. I went in after having my hair (highlights) over processed by another local salon and had little hope that I would ever look close to natural again. I walked out of Beaucage looking like a million bucks and my faith was restored in salon care. They take every measure to pamper you and really listen to what your needs are. They give you their advice on what you should do to get to where you want to be and deliver on the results. At the end, I walked out of there with more work than I thought I'd get done (highlights, lowlights, toner, cut and blowdry) and it was less than $200. UNBELIEVABLE for any salon, nevermind one on Newbury! It was unparalleled customer service and expertise that I have not seen in a long time in Boston. I was referred here by my buddy, he mentioned that I see Dean who is the owner. I was not able to get in with the man of the hour, so I asked one of the young ladies on the phone to place me with the next best thing. She of course told me they were all great but suggested Emily for my cut. I went in the next day to the second floor and was promptly greeted by a group of exceptionally good looking ladies...fellas it made my trip to the "salon" that much better. I was given water and Emily came right out, she sat me in her chair and gave me the quick, painless stylish haircut I was looking for. Her conversation was easy and interesting. As I walked up to pay Dean introduced himself, he seemed like a stand up guy who was the life of their party. Katherine at Beaucage is the best for facials and waxes. All of my friends get Brazilian waxing done with her. So when I was looking for a salon to go to for waxing,I went to see Katherine since she was so well recommended. It barely even hurt at all. She is friendly, and does a great job making you feel comfortable. During one wax appointment, we started talking about skin care and facials. So I decided to try an anti- aging facial. My skin never looked so good. It felt soft and had that healthy glow. I am still young and the products she used were perfect for my skin. Katherine spent some time explaining how important starting early is with facials to prevent signs of aging. She knows a lot about health and nutrition too. What a cool place...this was my first time at this salon/spa...everyone was so friendly, and the ambiance was very upbeat and relaxing at the same time...I love the fact that I could start my day with a facial, follow with a blow dry, and finish with a manicure and pedicure, all in one spa! My facial was absolutely AMAZING! I saw Andrea ...every movement from start to finish felt like a massage, even when she was cleaning out my pores, I felt relaxed...I got the anti-aging facial, and my skin was glowing when I left the spa, and it felt great..she even fit in waxing for me when I asked her if she could squeeze it in her schedule...I asked her a lot of questions, and she was really patient and knowledgable..I would highly recommend Andrea..you will not be disappointed..She gave me the best facial I ever had, hands down! read more

I recently came to Beaucage for the Yuko hair straightening treatment. It was done by Kristen and I absolutely love the results. My hair is silky smooth with no friz at all. Styling could not be simpler. No more long blow drying and harmful flat irons. Eventhough it dries stick straight if I do nothing to it, I can also still wear my hair with some wave or curl if I put some work into it. I keep getting comments on how smooth and shiny my hair looks. I'm thrilled with the results and I will be back when this treatment grows out. The only draw back is that the price is a bit high, especially when you combine the treatment with the products you need to buy for daily use, but like I said, I loved the results so I will probably end up paying for it again. read more

Unfortunately, he wasn't there the day I arrived with a brush entrenched in my hair that got stuck there somehow while I was blow-drying. Dean, the owner, was reassuring and introduced my to stylist Antoinette, who for the next two hours unswervingly made this her Mission. She did it! And she made me believe in magic all over again. Two hours later, at no charge, and with a complimentary shampoo and blow-dry, I was on my way out the door, with smiles all around. Gretchen at Beaucage is by far the best colorist I've ever been to!!!! I've always had a great experience at Beaucage, but once I found Gretchen, I was hooked. I'm a blonde who has partial foils done and finding someone who can achieve the right shade of blonde has always been a huge challenge for me. Gretchen worked with me to find the perfect mix and I couldn't be happier! She's so friendly and professional and I just can't say enough about how amazing my hair looks thanks to Gretchen! My mom also goes to Gretchen and loves her, which is a testament to her ability to work with any age (we're 32 years apart)! Beaucage is THE place to go if you need a Brazilian- I just recently moved to Boston and have been in need of a good, clean respectable place to get my most intimate waxing done, and I completely found the place. Beaucage is lovely, relaxing and sophisticated. Not to mention the people are wonderfully nice, and the woman, Katherine, who did my wax was perfect. She was respectful, caring, and kept talking so much that before I knew it I was out the door without much pain.
