I've been coming to Serli for over a decade, long before she worked here -- back when she was an assistant at Studio Kay. Over the years, I've watched her grow into an incredibly talented, dedicated, and professional hairstylist who consistently goes above and beyond for her clients. Serli has accommodated me at 5 AM, 6 AM, weekends, and even holidays because she genuinely cares about her work and her clients' schedules. I split my time between cities and travel frequently, and she has always prioritized my appointments without hesitation. I don't trust anyone with my hair but her -- she is the only stylist I've been loyal to for this long. I'm not Armenian, nor am I an influencer, and I've never once experienced anything but kindness, professionalism, and exceptional service from her. The negative review posted by Faye does not reflect the person or the professional I've known for ten years. Lucy was my hair stylist for a wedding I was attending in the evening & she did amazing!! I called to make an appointment a week in advance & they quoted me a price range over the phone. The price depends on the length of your hair & whether you want an updo or your hair down. I brought a hair piece for the updo & Lucy knew exactly what to do with it. I'm so impressed because I just showed her a picture of what I wanted & she executed above & beyond. I got a lot of compliments on my hair at the event. My hair lasted all day and into the evening, even with all the jumping, running, and dancing I did at the wedding haha. It was my first time coming to this salon so I didn't know what to expect. When I first arrived, the receptionist was not there so no one greeted me. Instead, two ladies working on someone's hair by the entrance watched me walk in, stared daggers at me for a whole minute without a greeting or smile, and I had to be the one to say "hello, I have an appointment." In response, they had a conversation in Armenian with each other & then told me to wait. If they were more welcoming, I would have given 5 stars. read more

this review is for my now new favorite stylist, Lucy i have gone to multiple people in different salons in the last 2 years trying to achieve a voluminous long hair with heavy layers type of style and no one could ever give me the style i wanted. i initially thought it was because i had thinner/asian hair so i gave up on trying. i live super close to this salon and decided to finally give it a try. i came in here with the same expectation that we wont be able to achieve the style i wanted but lucy proved me so wrong!! i showed her an inspo and she absolutely delivered! i am so inlove with my hair and have gotten plenty of compliments from my friends that i started recommending her asap. she's really good at what she does and when she says she can do it, she can definitely do it. thank you so much again Lucy! read more

I've been seeing Serli for years--even back when she was a hair stylist assistant. She "was" the best and very knowledgeable about hair. But my visit today was the final straw. I showed up early for my appointment (hair cut), the salon was completely empty, and she saw me--but still made me wait without saying a word. No greeting, no explanation, nothing. At 9:20 a.m., I asked her if we could start. She told me to wait a bit longer so she could keep chatting with her friends--even though my appointment was at 9:30. That level of rudeness and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Making your client wait for no reason, when there's no one else in the salon, just so you can finish a casual conversation? Completely disrespectful. And for what? Another hour, like she's done before? I expected at least basic respect. I won't be coming back. It's time to find a stylist who actually values their clients and their time. She's done this before, and I let it slide. But today I had a time-sensitive schedule and another appointment afterwards--I just couldn't risk being delayed again. Don't go to Serli if you're expecting professionalism. If you're not Armenian or some social media influencer, she won't prioritize you. And even if you have a scheduled appointment, don't expect to be seen on time--you'll likely wait 1 to 2 hours before she even starts. read more

I had a very bad experience with the makeup artist Elina. She did not do my makeup the way that I had requested, and I ended up going home and redoing it entirely by myself. Nonetheless, I didn't complain to her or ask her to fix it bc I was running late. And I understand, it's subjective so I didn't want to be rude. I ended up paying for the full service and included a $20 tip. But, the true atrociousness was not the way my makeup turned out at all. For starters, she stabbed my eye 3 times to the point of me tearing up. Still, i didn't say anything. She was getting very close to my face with coffee breath (again, i obviously didn't say anything). Then, she got a foundation stain on my alo sweater (which she acknowledged she did). Again, I didn't say anything. I just wanted to get out of there asap. I got home, redid my makeup, went to my event, and came home to see how I could remedy my sweater. I tried everything and nothing worked even after 3 washes at this point. I texted her and let her know. She offered me 50% off my next appointment which I didn't want bc I definitely won't be going back to her. Then she offered me $60 as "goodwill" for the sweater cost. Honestly, I just agreed because I didn't want to argue or escalate things further. Then, she completely ghosted me. Up to this point, I thought we were having a normal back and forth convo then she ghosted me for days on end. That's what really upset me. I didn't say anything about anything else but fully ghosting me after I already had a very annoying experience was very frustrating and unprofessional. read more

I contemplated leaving this review but I'm still bothered 2 1/2 months later. I was in need of a highlight and my regular go-to wasn't available, so I took a chance here. I was quoted between $250-$350 for a full highlight, which I felt was fair enough. I even sent a photo of my hair so they knew what they were working with. Imagine my shock when I was asked to pay close to $500 which was way above what I was quoted. I didn't ask for anything "extra," just the highlight I made my appointment for, so I'm still not sure why it was so much. My bad for not asking why I was rung up as $150 above the quote- but I was in a hurry because it took her 4 hours to do my hair which I was not anticipating. I can only assume this was because the stylist was going back and forth between me and other clients. She blamed it on the owner for "double booking" her, saying I should have reached out to her directly to book because the owner does not know her schedule. It just seemed shady and like she was maybe calling her own shots or maybe there is no communication between the owner and the stylist since price wise they were on completely different pages. I'm sure it's not on the salon owner, but rather the stylist. I liked my hair OK but I did not like it enough to go back or pay the outrageous price tag. I'm also needing another highlight, which, for almost $500, I should not be due for another highlight quite yet. read more

I was very exited to try a new service they are offer it at this place , I even save my money for a long time because I wanted to do something nice, I did my eyebrows microshading and my lips , permanent blushing, I like my eyebrows , they are ok,for $700 , but my lips are really bad, is like if I did nothing to them,The lady said because of my skin pigmentation , but I wish I was inform before paying $500 . I left the place being on a rush because another appointment they had, I didn't feel my $1200 were at at appreciated, even though the lady Melissa doing the service was nice,she said I had to pay another $150 for retouch even though no color is in my lips. She did my wedding makeup and even my husband commented on how good it looked - something he has never done before. She also did my mother and mother-in-law and everyone kept saying how they look 20 years younger. Arpi is truly an artist. She has ruined every other makeup artist for me. Suzi was an angel. I was so indecisive with how I wanted my hair but she had me show her photos of what I liked and what I DIDN'T like. So I was looking for a salon that not only had good prices but also had pics of nice hair done. I looked on line and there was a special for balayage and treatment for $160. When I spoke to the person over the phone she said that the free treatment would be a cut if I chose to cut my hair. I got my hair done and it was excellent . Nora did my hair and I love it. Only problem was that at the end when I had to pay I was being charged $230 which I then Mentioned that the price was different from what I seen online. Long story short, I ended up paying $200 because apparently it depends on the work being done. I don't have a problem with paying this but I don't like when you see one thing and it's something else. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Nora Stepanyan ruined my hair. Before starting, I showed her many photos of what I wanted. I was very specific (balayage, root melt to hide gray hair, and baby highlights). She was confident and she told me that she was a professional, so I trusted her. Once I saw the results, I told her that the color was far from what I asked for, she was very polite up to this point. Then, she began to make up excuses like I needed makeup to look better, or that my hair was not the same as the models in the photos, or that I had to comb my hair to see the color, etc.  After that, she agreed to add a new toner, but to my surprise, she asked me to leave the salon with my hair TOTALLY WET, she had no intention of waiting to see if the second time I was happy with the results. I waited for my hair to dry in the PARKING LOT, and then came back to show her that instead of gold-ish colors, she had applied RED and I had gray hair everywhere. She was so annoyed by my presence that she told me to leave (AGAIN) because she was too busy dealing with clients who actually came later than me. It took me three days to finally get a PARTIAL refund, and she said "Your money DOESN'T worth my nerves." What a horrible person!! That day Nora Stepanyan made me feel like I was begging her to do her job correctly! My hair has been a mess ever since. I would definitely not recommend anyone to come to this salon. read more

AWFUL... would not recommend... I made a noon appointment for my mother to get a haircut. Came in at 11:50am... the stylist was still halfway through the current client, so it was obvious that she would blow past our 12 pm appointment. 30 mins later, with no hurry in sight, the stylist - Lucy - finally finished the lady she was working on. The moment my mother sat down, Lucy started complaining that she doesn't do short cuts and who in the world scheduled the appointment. My daughter had a bridal appointment with Lala the owner on her wedding day. She ruined my daughter's happy mood on her big day by ruining her hair. She specifically requested Hollywood waves style . Unfortunately due to Lala's lack of expertise and artistic talent my daughter's hair was shaped in huge curls not waves (the style had nothing to do with waves)Can you imapgine how disappointing and stressfull it was for her to see she could'nt have her favoritestyle at her wedding day. Not only it was not styled the right way but but after two hours all hr hair came loose and after charging her a fortune it looked like she never went to a stylist on her big day. When I saw her at home with her hair I just tried to hide my tears of disappointment so she would not notice it on my face. It was very painful to see your daughter not happy on her special day. My suggestion to Lala is to take many many hairstyling classes so she would not ruin any other bride's hair like that.Also if you are not capable of doing that particular style at least be honest to your customer and let her know in advance so she can find the right hairstylist to do her wanted style. Had my hair and makeup done at the studio for a bridal party, and I can't recommend this establishment enough. Everyone is super professional, VERY accommodating and friendly. VALENTINA MUA is amazing, she immediately understood what I wanted for my makeup look, gave me options and transformed my face to how I envisioned it. My makeup lasted the whole day and did not need any touch ups! There was a mishap with the appointment for hair, but the ladies at the salon did not leave me hanging. LUCY_SHA and NORA came to my rescue! They team-tagged together to get my updo done. I've never seen anyone work so efficiently in my life! My appointment was at 9am with Tina for a full color and haircut. I came in and they could not find my name on the reservation list but another hairstylist called Tina to see if I had an appointment. Tina came in around 9:30am, and took me in. I'm not sure what happened with the schedule to be honest. They never told me why. And no I didn't have any email confirmation, it was just a verbal over the phone confirmation at the time I made the appointment. I had asked for textured layers on my hair but it turned out to be just a... cut that I could get from Supercuts. Sorry, I don't know how to describe this cut... Her personality is nice but she seemed to have other priorities and I did not feel as if she cared handling my hair from the beginning. So when it's all done, I just wanted to get out of there. I was too sad and still am. I hope another salon can fix my hair and help me feel...amazing. This review is 2 years overdue. I was referred by a friend to go to Nora for some lowlights to add dimension in my blonde hair which was nearly a platinum white color. Nora promised she could get me what I wanted to achieve and that she was capable of doing so. I trusted her with my time and money, until I saw what she did to my hair. Not only did she insult my friends hair that had referred me (someone else does her color) but she had turned my roots black and my blonde hair yellow. This was done with permanent color and I still had to pay her afterwards. I dmed her kindly telling her I was unhappy with the results and she aggressively responded without any means to try to fix my color. Nora was very friendly and accommodating she fit me in right away. She has a lot of talent for the haircoloring that she does, I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of highlights or Baleyage. There are charges at the haircut you can charge your phone or devices while you wait for the color to process. The salon has a lovely community environment, this is the type of place that You could visit with your girlfriends and have a primping day out together, the layout would be great for this. If at anytime you are unhappy with the services They do their best to rectify this. I had made an appointment to have my hair both color and cut but after the coloring I was advised that she did not do shortcuts as her talent is with layers of longhair. I really appreciate this. Is the service just as good as the aesthetic? I cut my hair with Lucy, she was nice and quiet most of the time it seemed like she was in a rush when doing my hair. I only went for a hair cut and I explained to her what I wanted, and she straight ahead proceeded to do what I asked for. However, she didn't ask if the length was good after she cut it and began to blow dry my hair. She just assumed that I was going to like the cut when she was done. She wasn't engaging with me or asking me if I liked the process of the cut. She went on her phone more then twice. The total cost was $85? For what.. cutting 4 inches and Bad service? The salon looks aesthetically pleasing with great equipment and with beautiful women.. I just hoped for better service from a high rated salon. read more

Finally I decided to post a review of my bridal make up. I got married two months ago and being the person I am I did my research on makeup artists out there. Through Instagram I found Nina. I booked her for this very special event in my life at 6 am. I was so excited that she would be doing my make up for my wedding. I did everything she required, paid my deposit and didn't regret a thing. Granted I had never had my makeup done before. So, when I arrive I sat down and she was personable and asked me if I had a picture of what I wanted. I told her I did and proceeded to she her. She then tells me that she didn't have a ring light because it broke. Because I had seen that she posted her clients on her Instagram, I thought she would post my picture as well. However, that never happened and was a little disappointed. Then she asked me who would do my bridal hair and I told her and she proceeded to tell me "you are not going to do your hair down and in curls right? That is so played out". As a bride, who was going to do that exact hairstyle was a little let down. No bride should feel that way on her day. I think a bride should feel beautiful in the way she pictured herself to be on that day. I do not think this was professional or kind of her to say. With this being said.. I loved the way she did my foundation and eye make up. My only dislike was she over lined my lips. I have plump lips already and they looked awful. I had to go back to my place, remove it and fix it. I know that o should've said something, but I didn't want to offend her work as she did take her time. Once I fixed it I looked and felt beautiful on my day regardless of what she had said to me. The makeup lasted all night and I was complemented from our guests. When I left, I paid her the rest of the payment and generously tipped her. Unfortunately, with her words she did not exceed what I thought would be one of the best experiences I would have wanted to have as a bride. Nina, you are good as a MUA, but maybe next time, be cautious of what you say. read more

This review is ONLY for Serli. I want to start off by saying that I've been going to Lala (the owner) since 2013 for color/highlights and she's amazing. I've always loved my hair and I've never had a complaint so this review has absolutely nothing to do with Lala or the salon itself. The one star is ONLY for Serli NOT Lala or the salon or other stylists there. Last weekend I had a wedding to attend and I mistakenly made my appt with Serli for old Hollywood glam hair style. I usually go to different stylists at the salon for just styling ( half up ponytail w/ extensions or even a simple all down soft waves look and I've never had a problem. I've always loved my hair but this time was a totally different experience. If you know what old Hollywood glam style is then you'll know it's not just soft waves, it's literally a different type of curl and it's a clean look. Serli did NOT do old Hollywood glam. It was regular soft waves and besides that, it was very sloppy and messy. One of my extensions was longer than the rest and it wasn't a clean look and it was not what I wanted at all. I told her I wanted volume but there definitely wasn't any volume. My hair was parted on the left and that left part needed major volume for this look and it did not have any volume. She finished my hair in 31 minutes, pinned it, and had her assistant charge me. I also tipped her even though I didn't like my hair. I had a make up appt at the salon after my hair so I assumed she'd touch up on my hair after make up (because that's what they usually do) but she had left for the day already. Even the make up artist told me my hair wasn't old Hollywood glam and it was messy and she's seen Serli do worse to her clients' hair. Again, I want to iterate that I love Lala, the salon and the other amazing stylists there but I definitely will never go to Serli ever again. Waste of $140 + tip. I will definitely be going back in a few months to touch up my highlights with Lala. I go to her every four months or so for highlights and a trim and she's the best! read more
