Just recently had a brazilian wax with ERIKA! She's great. She's interesting and fun to talk to, but more importantly, she does a great job. I am new to Austin and have been having a hard time finding someone who is thorough and competent. I am super happy I found Erika. Some places advertise being quick but just break off hair. That's why I wait a little after a wax to fully judge how good it is. No breakage with Erika. Erika is detail oriented, which I appreciate and she uses a combination of hard and soft wax to be the most effective all around. Oh. My. Gosh! So glad I stumbled upon Beautiful Me! They have a very convenient and easy to use online booking system that I love. I got my first Brazilian ever and was super nervous! I went to Erika. She is a saint! When I walked in she introduced herself and I immediately felt like I had known her forever. She explained everything thouroughly before letting me change clothes and during the wax she was so professional and talked to me so my mind was occupied! She uses hard wax which is so great. Anyway, my first brazilian wax experience was a huge success so I went back! Even better the second time. I had booked online again and made an appointment for a purity peel as well. Immediately after booking, Erika texted me letting me know I could do my wax first and then my peel and scheduled it that way. I had to reschedule twice, however, but totally my fault. I felt bad but Erika ensured me it was okay and rescheduled me with ease! Anyway, I went in on Monday and Erika and I picked up right where we left off. She remembered conversation we had a month ago and that made me feel like I wasn't just another client like I have felt at other places. And my peel! The purity peel is amazing and again, Erika explains everything. She took the time to read up on the skincare regimen I am currently using and gave me a sample of a moisturizer to use. She also took the time to explain what my face would feel like after so I wouldn't have any surprises! Both times I have used a gift certificate and have had zero problems. Since I know that I personally rifled through Yelp reviews of waxing salons to find out what this whole deal would feel like, I am going to write a brief note to that girl (or guy) sweating bullets before their appointment: YES it hurts, BUT only briefly. Your eyes will water and your nose will run, but the pain was quick to dissipate. I got through it by Lamaze-style exhalations during the yanking parts. It was a totally manageable pain, and if you have a buddy there with you, they'll forever worship you as a Deity of Strength and Power. Onto the actual review: Beautiful Me shares a space with another skin care suite, so it actually took me a bit to figure out where they were located. The room where I had my appointment was super cozy- super comfy furniture, low music, ambient, warm lighting... The waxing itself went a lot faster than anticipated, as my waxer was quick and economical and I opted to take no breaks. Here's where it gets a bit personal and slightly dicey... hence why it took me so long to write this review (my appointment took place in early Sept. 2015). Right near the beginning of the waxing process, my waxer seemed to have some problems with pulling the strip- tugging and wrenching fruitlessly on a particular spot. Maybe she was too short to follow through with the yank (the lounges are pretty tall, I'm already nearly 6', and she was just a short gal), or she overestimated the amount of skin she was waxing. Once she finally got the strip off, she then waxed over the same exact spot (because the first attempt failed), which I know is a MAJOR no-no. I would've honestly been happy to leave with one weird spot of hair than have a waxer do that, since (if you aren't aware) doing that can cause serious skin damage/ingrown hairs. The rest of the wax went smoothly and she didn't have that problem again. In my healing phase, I was 90% super pleased with the experience... in all the spots that went smoothly, I had no problems with irritation or regrowth of hair. But in that one spot, I experienced lots of problems with irritation and hair regrowth. Everything is back to normal, and I'm definitely not afraid of doing it again, but I do not think I will be rebooking with that particular waxer. In summation, for anyone getting a wax, do your research on the process of waxing and really baby your skin afterwards. If anything feels amiss in your session, always speak up! If I would've said something versus just letting it happen I wouldn't have to deal with months of displeasure. read more

Andrea did a wonderful job on my brows before my wedding! I've never been happier with them. She really took time to make sure I liked them and that she made them even. I have tricky brows that are super hard to work with, and even without a brow pencil I love them now. It barely hurt at all and did not feel cumbersome or annoying. Booked my appointment online... Great. drove to the location, it was difficult to find as they are sharing an office and there's a tiny sign that indicates where they are. So I find it and go inside, to find no one around to help me. Not only that, but no one answers their business phone number, you have to leave a message. So I walk around in this shared office to find two doors with their sign on it, both locked. ummmmmm wtf. As I'm leaving I get a text from the girl. I tried Beautiful Me for eyebrow service based on all of the reviews I'd read on Yelp, and my Yelpers definitely didn't let me down when they recommended Tracy and Beautiful Me. To start- It's easy to schedule appointments online and since they're available on Sundays, I was able to get in the very next day. Tracy was gentle and was fun to talk to while she was doing my eyebrows. She was able to share a wealth of information about eyebrows and hair growth and Tracy really listened to me when I explained how I like my eyebrows and did what I asked her to. I'm used to beauty service providers pushing products, but Tracy didn't try to sell me any additional product or pressure me to make another appointment. Out of habit, I tried to schedule another appointment and she suggested that I wait until I felt like I needed to come in again because everyone's hair grows differently- what a breath of fresh air in the world of beauty services! I had back and shoulders done and Navya was amazing. It's not as delicate of an area as what most of the clientele have maintained but it was as enjoyable as having hair pulled from you can possibly be. Tracy is awesome! She's so gentle that waxing barely hurts with her - by far the easiest I've ever experienced (I've been having it done for over 5 years now). She's the first person I've ever let tackle my upper lip - I was always afraid of the pain and breaking out. I've never had any negative side effects with her. And she has such a great policy about touch ups - if you're not happy with your wax, come back within the week and she'll fix it free of charge - I've never had to use it, but it's nice to know it's there. Today was my second visit to Tracy for a brazillian wax. I have one of the lowest pain tolerances ever, but somehow Tracy was able to make waxing a very sensitive area actually bearable!! I was so worried the first time I went in that I wouldn't be able to go threw with it, but she did everything she could to help with the pain. She always pats the area she just waxed and then sprays a mixture she makes to help soothe the skin. I am not one who is comfortable showing all the lady parts in front of just anyone (including my doctor!), but Tracy makes me feel very comfortable. I just try to remind myself that she sees a lot of lady parts each week. As all of the other reviewers have said, she is incredibly knowledgeable. Not only does she inform me with all the facts about waxing and hair growth, she recommends products for all different beauty needs that she knows works. It took me a long time to build up the courage to get waxed and thank God I did!! I will never go back to shaving and I'm hoping I'll never have to go to anyone else! I went here for an appointment with Navia to have my brows shaped. I've never had any waxing done before, but she listened to what I was looking for and made my brows look beautiful! Very natural but clean-looking. And she explained to me about my bone structure and muscle tone and how to make the brows balanced, etc... it was great.
