Peggy isn't just for the females, though I hear she does a great job with them. I think half of the 626'ers come here. Not my regular barber, but I may have to retire him soon. Why? Peggy takes appointments (no barber I know does that), and always takes me whether its 8:00a.m or 8:00pm. Therefore I am never sitting around waiting to get a haircut. Moreover, she gives an excellent fade using a buzzer that could get within a millimeter of your scalp. She always shampoos and rinses you not just to clean you up, but also to make sure she didn't miss any spots. I could see why half my friends get their haircut here. I just got back from getting my side sweep done by Peggy. Wow!! Best hairstylist I've ever had. She listened to what i wanted and gave me tips along the way while making sure i was committed to this new change. Seriously, Peggy is so attentive to how exactly you want your hair to be. She cut them long incase I wanted it shorter and she cut less then we both decided maybe adding some more bangs would look good. I've never trusted a hairstylist with my heart and soul as much as I just did at Beauty Code. When i got back, my dad even made a comment that i look younger, and he NEVER notices anything... I was referred to this place by my friend. She's pretty picky with her hair so I trusted her on it. I usually just go to the salon schools to have the students cut my hair, but I got really tired of it. Boy was I happy to come to Beauty Code Salon. I've been coming here for my past 2 haircuts and several bang trims in between. I always get my hair cut with Peggy. First off, she's really nice and helps you figure out what kind of style you want your cut. There are a lot of magazines and she even has a binder of pictures. She gave me all her attention when she was cutting my hair. If she needed to step away to greet a customer, she would excuse herself. She also asks you how you're doing and other stuff. After cutting and drying, she styled my hair with a straight iron and some nice smelling product. I really liked the finish product of the haircut. The only reason I'm giving a 4/5 is because she always parts my hair different from my natural part and my hair ends up in the wrong places. I've tried to fix the part after the wash but couldn't. It's okay thought because after showering and washing my hair, I parted it the way I wanted to and it didn't really affect the style. Make sure you make an appointment before you come because they rarely have openings if you call the day of. And they make you wash there so you can't get out of it even if you come with your hair already washed. read more

No offense... She cuts hair extremely well! She asked what I wanted to do with my hair. If I was in a rush, she could still pull it off in a timely manner. She is amazing with those scissors! I like how this place plays KIISFM? LOL and when Adele is playing, I'm just singing along while she cuts my bangs. She is amazing, I can't say that enough. Kim is very nice too. I'm assuming she cuts just as good, but I'm so used to Peggy that I can't try with anyone else. I think the only down side to Beauty Code is the prices. I tried out this salon in search of a potential replacement for the ever crowded and crazy Etude Lounge in Ktown. You won't find the cookies, tea and free hair treatments that are usually handed out over there, but Peggy sure knows what she's doing! I walked in for a 7:30PM appointment after work and Peggy didn't rush through at all despite the late night cut! I have thin, flimsy hair that looks terribly flat without the right cut, but Peggy was patient about listening to what I needed. She was able to give me beautiful, thick layers that are super easy to style. She's also the right kind of talkative where you don't feel pressured to chitter chatter the whole time. Peggy doesn't really use any hair products and I didn't love the blowout, but the resulting haircut is amazing and exactly what I wanted! Overall, they are open late, parking is a breeze and Peggy makes sure that you get what you want. I guess I can live without the cookies. :) read more

This place is so great!! I care in Ceaser Chavez Day and it was DEAD. Shampoo and 2 min mask included in hair cut!! i also got a trim and added some bangs, she was so helpful in giving tips and checking lengths and i got blow dry with flat iron! my hair feel SOOOO soft and looks super healthy. It's very hard for me to keep my length but she was able to TRIM and not chop off my hair to still get the long hair and split ends. They could get busy so I usually call in advance to make an appointment. Both Kim and Peggy are great. Come and try this place, it's big, clean and comfortable. My original plan was to go to another location, but the stylist said she can't work with my hair because it's too damaged. I was so disappointed and panicked. I went to my car & yelped something real quick and found Beauty Code Salon. I called and spoke to Peggy and she took me in RIGHT away. I told her exactly what I wanted and BAM she made it happened. She's amazing and makes magic happen! Not only is the quality good, but it's affordable. I thought I was gonna pay $100+ for my hair, but she only charged for $80 for bleach and dye. WHAT?! So cheap! Peggy did my hair, she's so nice and accomending. she has the cutest voice. the hair cut starts at $38. it starts with a shampoo massage and then goes to discuss what hair style you would like. I really like their 7day policy for first timers. Peggy said that if i don't like how my hair turned out i can came back within 7 days to fix it, instead of going to someone else, becuase it's usually a communication issue and i agree. i didn't go back to get anything fixed. but i thinking about getting my bangs, i'll probably visit her soon. oh and getting your bangs snip is like 5 bucks. read more

Peggy did an awesome job with my hair. The highlights came out great and the red colour is still...well red. I got the dark red color with bright red highlights. Usually the red fades but it's been almost a month and the colours faded a little but my hair still looks good. The highlights are very even and the dark red really compliments my olive skin tone. I had Peggy and she was amazing! I showed her a few photos, she listened and did exactly what I wanted (a type of more dramatic ombré) and it looks wonderful! It transitions seamlessly and there are no harsh jumps in color in my hair even though I wanted a pretty dramatic range of colors. The price was very reasonable, Peggy is cheerful, very helpful and so sweet and they took their time which felt like she was really being careful and thorough (it took me about 3.5 hours for cut and bleach/color).
