Small place but LOTS of products! Everything I needed from braiding hair, to clipper spray, to hair oil was present and in the brands I was searching for. Customer service was great as well. If you are looking to get your hair braided this place is truly a godsend. They are the ONLY ppl in LA and the valleys (SGV and SFV) that sells Femi Marley Braiding hair. The only way to get this specific textured braiding hair is online. Not only do they have Femi but they have the 24" hair for long kinky twists. Most places only carry the shorter hair. This is great for the super cute long kinky twist. If you don't know what that is then Google it. The hair is reasonably priced and since they carry Sooooooo many brands you are bound to find something in your price range. The best part is the owners knowledge. I'm telling you this Asian man knew so much about hair and braiding techniques that it was surprising. He really knew what he was talking about and gave some solid advice. Highly recommend!!! I absolutely love this place; especially the owner Kent. I have buying products from Kent for about 9-10 years. He's always kind, interested in my needs and hires cool young people to assist you in looking for what it is you need. What I especially like about Kent is: . He almost always gives me samples of conditioners and shampoos . He allows me to use his restroom without giving me the side eye or watching me . He hires minorities and those from the community. I went in the other day and he has a gorgeous black man working there, who is equally kind and professional. Kent provides a service and great products for women of color. After getting some bad hair from a place on Crenshaw Blvd I went into Beauty Depot on a whim. Best. Decision. Ever. The owner Kent was so nice & really helpful. I told him my budget & he suggested the right type of hair, products, everything. In the end I ended up spend around $100 for my extensions instead the hundereds I've seen my friends spend. This is my go to beauty supply in LA and i'm from here. Also the attendants were super friendly and helpful with all my questions. The parking lot is tiny though and always packed so prepare for that, its a busy intersection and other stores in the lot keep it full. Disappointed to say the least! I am a salon owner in North Hollywood but grew up down the street from this supplier . My first business transaction was the weekend before thanksgiving so it was great to stock up on some hard to find supplies on a Sunday! While shopping i noticed a "professional hair dryer" a something or other 3000! Great! been looking for a new dryer with 3000 watts I'll take it! I get it back to the salon and the heat is cooler than my 2000 watt dryer...i check the side for wattage since nothing was on the box and low and behold it only 1800 watts! i can't do nothing with this! So today ...the Monday after thanksgiving i take the dryer back wanting to EXCHANGE because they do have some products that i use...New guy at the front tells me (with a slight laugh) no exchanges ...which made me feel that i had been suckered or something! I had to tell him that it wasn't funny! There IS a small sign that says so at the front desk but i swear you would never notice it if you were not looking for it...I understand that policy is policy but i just feel it's not great retail to not to even exchange...i spent 179 on a Sunday and spend hundreds on supplies every week and they lost my business with that one...I made no big stink about it cause i had already been laughed at so what was going off going to accomplish? Guess i will just raffle this useless dryer off or something! Lesson learned..You can take the hood outta girl but there are NO EXCHANGES in the hood! My bad! read more
