The gals are so nice here. They are attentive and just the right amount of chatty. They never try to upsell me which I appreciate and they always leave me feeling relaxed and pampered. I even brought my mom along with me for her first pedicure ever and she enjoyed it very much. I've been going here for over 15 years. I use to get gel, now I do "dip." Apparently it's better for your nails. Do not go to a random place to do dip, it's not easy to make it look good. Polish nail techs make it look super natural. I also get the sports pedicure. I never need an appointment because everyone that works there does a superb job. read more

I am super disappointed in my experience at Polish today. I've been going there for a couple months now. I needed a pedicure and a dip manicure. They sat me down for my pedicure and when I finished, the lady told me to wait for a bit. I had been sitting there for maybe 20 minutes when I realized no one was coming to get me. I went to the front desk who apologized and they put me in a chair for the manicure. I don't understand why the manicure couldn't have been done at the same time as the pedicure. I was there for almost 2 hours total! The manicure didn't consist of a massage and the lady said it wasn't included with dip. What? Why would gel or regular manicures get a massage but not dip? I got a pedicure and the woman that helped did a decent job. I've been going to this place for years but they are always very vague with their pricing. I went and got a deluxe pedicure for 47 dlls and I decided to go with gel. I assumed they would charge me extra for gel but when I paid the price significantly increased. They charge 28 Dlls extra for gel!! on top of the 47dlls of the pedi. That was way too high for this nail salon. I paid over 70 dlls for the pedi and 15 dlls for tip. This salon is not worth 100dlls for a pedi. I won't be going back. read more

The salon is a hit or miss. A lot of the ladies need to do a better job with manicures and there's a hand select few (about 3) that have done a good job. There's a lady in particular who does manis & pedis super quick but the quality of the job is super low. Aside from this, I attempted to pay cash with a $100 bill and the receptionist didn't accept it because it wasn't the "newer" ones (blue). So then I used my card and got charged for using credit. All of this is such a joke. I tried giving this place multiple shots cause it's close by but this is my last visit. Prices are outrageous and service aren't top of the line. read more

I've come here off and on over the year and my first experiences were really amazing but have declined ever since and today was my last visit. I walked in at around 5:30 and asked if they had time for a full set (they close at 7), they said yes so I waited but I waited for about 30 minutes. I didn't mind the wait until it became clear they would have rather I'd left so they could close early. I picked a solid gel color, no designs. But from the start it was clear that everyone just wanted to get me out as fast as possible. My nails look like they were rushed and done by someone who was in the dark because they were literally turning the lights off while I was still in the chair even though it was 6:45. I would have appreciated them just letting me know they didn't have time to complete my service instead of doing a terrible job while making me feel like I was holding their night up. read more

Last Tuesday, April 25th, around 9:15 AM PST, I was verbally and physically assaulted by an unknown white woman A.K.A. I was "Karen'd" at Polish Nail Salon in San Diego, CA - Rio Vista Shopping Center (8590 Rio San Diego Dr. UNIT 107, San Diego, CA 92108). I mean, the main reason I didn't kick her butt/arse/ass was because I have a lot to lose. That seemed like a good reason not to post the proof that no matter how much of your life you've spent doing all of the right things, you can still find yourself on the other end of a racist, elitist, entitled, biased rant voiced by nonother than the creator and award winner of "White Tears" herself. The part you don't see in the beginning is me walking in and being greeted by a Nail Tech at the front desk. I came to the salon to report a quality issue and seek a repair of my gel nails. I immediately asked for the manager or owner. The Nail Tech informed me the owner wasn't in yet but offered to help me (if what she attempted was help). Before I could get out what I needed, she quickly informed me that quality wasn't guaranteed. I told her I had the right to communicate my quality issue, whether a guarantee was offered or not. As she and I continued to speak, "Karen," who was on the phone when I arrived, got off the phone and yelled at me to leave my number for the owner and to leave the salon. I had to do a double take because nobody was talking to "Karen," but she made it clear she was talking to me. I don't know who she is, but I'm curious. Is she someone's mother, sister, friend, colleague, boss, church member, wife, or confidant? Do the people in her life know how she really behaves? What made the situation worse was how no one came to my defense or tried to address "Karen." In fact, there was a moment (not caught on film) when the Nail Technician seen in the video telling me I was disturbing her work environment came up to me and yelled for me not to raise my voice at "Karen." Not only that, she is knowingly caught lying in the video that I yelled or even spoke to "Karen" first. Take notice of how another Nail Technician continued to follow "Karen" around, touching and calming her to ensure she was comfortable. Now let's get to the owner. First, she tried to tell me my experience was not what it was (keep in mind she wasn't there). Then she offered to repair my nails but not while "Karen" was in the salon, so she asked me to come back. I told her I refused to allow "Karen" to disrupt my morning anymore. I did end up having my nails repaired on the outside patio by the same woman who comforted "Karen." In hindsight, I would have left and not let anyone touch my nails, but I had a point to prove. "Karen" wasn't going to get the satisfaction of having me leave because she said so. But the irony, looking back, is that the entire experience was degrading. If you know who "Karen" is, tell her she's YELP famous. I used to frequent this place years ago and loved it, but it has since changed. I called because I was in the area, and I asked for the price of a pedicure with gel and a gel removal. The girl told me it would be $42 total. I asked about the gel removal once again and she said it was included. I go in, sit down, and confirm the price with the nail text. She then tells me it's $55... for a gel pedicure!! Not only is that super expensive, it's almost a $15 difference from what they quoted me 5 minutes prior! I decided to just stay since my feet were already in the water... bad idea. The pedicure was not very good and the tech did not make my toenails squared as I asked. She never asked me how I liked them during the process, and she also didn't use the color polish I wanted because she said it was too light and it wouldn't come out the same as the sample nail. Well if that's the case, then they shouldn't offer that color or they should recreate a sample nail with a realistic amount of coats that accurately shows how the color will look. So after my crappy, expensive pedicure, I go to the front to pay and my total has now gone up $1 for a total of $56. I didn't even ask why I got charged the extra dollar because I felt so irritated and upset and just wanted to get out of there. I will NEVER return to this salon. read more

This place is awesome! We had a group of 6 ladies go here before our holiday party. They took our reservation and a $50 deposit for the group (which I was then able to put towards the total of my nails). We got everything from regular manicures, to gels, to dip tips, and they all came out great! We also got pedis that were very relaxing. The reason why it doesn't get 5 stars is because two of the girls' toenails were cut so short that they bled. I will be going back here for sure, my overall experience was very good. read more

Came here as a walk in on a Sunday and they took me right away. I got a pedicure and a dip manicure. The pedicure was nice and relaxing. They have different options of pedicures for you to choose from. I chose the sport pedicure. I wish the massage was a bit firmer but overall, it was a great pedicure. She really worked on the calluses on my feet and made sure any dead skin was taken care of. I originally wasn't going to get a manicure but figured why not. I'm very picky with how my hands turn out. If they do a bad job, i will pick at them endlessly. As i mentioned, i went in on a Sunday and it is now Thursday and i have yet to pick at my nails. They were done close to perfect. I am so happy with how they came out. It is a simple one color dip manicure but i am very impressed on how she did the shaping and smoothed out the nail. There wasn't any issue of over applying or product ending up on my skin. Overall, i love it. These are my natural length nails. One nail had broken before going in so she added an extension to it and you can't even tell which nail was the shorter one. Definitely coming back for my manicures. Overall, a great place. Friendly staff. Cute shop. They use clean products and bowl covers for pedicures. They have a few tvs on (they had hgtv on when i went). I remember the days when a gel mani and pedi were 60 tops. My pedicure was okay, there is a speck of something under my polish on my big toe, didn't cut all my dead skin off around my toe nails, and she slightly cut me when trying to get a ingrown toenail on my big toe but was quick to clean up the mess and put alcohol on it. Giving a one star as an option to give anything lower is not available. Spent over $200.00 at this salon on Sunday. Excellent pedicure with a chrome rose gold polish - that I paid extra and was reminded of such before the service was initiated. My toes turned out beautiful. My new set of nails a completely different story. Not a "chrome rose gold finish " but rather a glitter finish that began to come off later that same day. I contacted the salon and spoke with Kim who was quick to share with me that chrome polish/finish was not guaranteed. Today I returned for a re-do. Well "Kim" was the greeter and when I showed her my nails she wasn't impressed. Agreed that they needed to be re-done. BUT stressed that chrome finish never lasts! Not even a day??? I informed her that had not been my experience and I have had this in the past at a different salon. Mai worked on my nails. I showed her my toes and she agreed on the difference. My nails look horrible. I don't know if this was intentional, I'd like to believe not. The finish is better but one nail had ridges. Neither Kim or Mai seemed to care. Upon me leaving and provided my with a tip. Insult to injury by Kim when she said "they look the same!!!!" I was dumbfounded and only replied with "wow well that's professionalism for you!!"
