I just returned from getting a hard builder gel refill w/ french tip. The finished mani looked nice under the low lighting in the salon, however, now at home in natural lighting the flaws are visible. Uneven nail shaping , nail color is inconsistent and not smoothly applied and in addition to the above, the french tip is not drawn evenly. My initial visit was 3 weeks ago and my nails were nicely manicured. I've got my nails done here multiple times. Every now and then I need to ask them to redo because nail polish had bubbles that formed or cuticles after a manicure where still horrible. Fast forward to this weekend, I got my nails done dip extensions and it was a shame they even aloud me to leave the salon looking like they did. I called to let them know my nails were different sizes in width and also in length. Also super thick and bulky. Needless to say, never cheat on your nail tech! To the response I received. Yes, I did pick Cherry because she did my nails prior to this set. The first set was good, I was pleased. However why would I request my nails to look as such? I didn't request my nails to look bulky, uneven and different t widths. Yes, you offered to do ONE HAND, but both hands were horrible and both hands needed to be redone. Giving me a refund when all I wanted was a new set due to the way they looked. It was an inconvenience and a waste of my time. Fast forward to my pedicure today. The women did a great job and as I'm going to check out you say "my manager wasn't happy about the review" well I'm sorry it's the truth and I wasn't happy with the inconvenience of my time. I love this place and will continue to be a regular customer. Beauty Nails always does a fabulous job; the nail techs are experienced, kind, and always provide great service. I got a gel pedicure and a dip mani with a design. The woman did such a careful job and wanted to make sure that I was happy. They did not have the exact color in the design polish, so she even took some of the gel color out of the regular bottle to make sure it all matched. I walked in to this place and they accepted me. In 2 minutes there were 2 people around me cutting my nails, clearly they just wanted to do a rushed job and get away with it. Once I was able to see it I saw that they did a terrible job in cutting my nails. My nails were long and in good shape, they cut the whole thing and it was super short, I told the lady this is too short so she moved all her stuff from my chair like a 3 year old and throw the water she had for me in the trash. The she started shouting in Vietnamese and all her colleagues were looking at me. This is so childish, I understand if some of us are not having the best day but this is way too much for just giving a comment oh its too short now. My nails were done horribly. I called to get a refund the next day and they only offered to redo them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I came in they all surrounded me and looked like they were debating on actually fixing my nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I finally got to sit down, the nails were rushed and she didn't ask if I liked them. When she finished she gave me a fan full of dust to dry my nails and walked away without saying a word the whole time. Another tech gave me the actual nail dryer after 10 minutes. They also gave no cuticle oil or lotion. I have multiple cuts on my cuticles. The redone nails are better than these photos but not good and look rushed. The service was terrible. You're better off doing your own nails. read more

Requested chrome dip. I was told I could do dip on any color, chose my color and the technician ignored me when I asked if she could fix a chip in my newly dipped nails. Then put chrome on 1 nail and she asked me if I like it, to which I said no and asked if she can try my friends chrome polish (that was different than mine). She carelessly tapped 3 times to put the chrome on (did not rub it in) and showed it to me as if she knew I wouldn't want it. I asked politely for no chrome at all and she was so rude, it was obvious she didn't want me there anymore. My nails are not only not what I wanted but have bubbles, a chip that has been disguised with clear gel coat, and the entire left side of my left thumb is not polished. Wouldn't go back & save yourself the trouble - there's only a handful of manicure tables, no more than 5. Thanks but no thanks! read more

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill fast since my last visit 2 years ago. Formerly known as Beauty Spa and now renamed Beauty Nails, Cambridge, the shop has been cut in half, the name slightly shortened but, and the quality is awful. The "manicure " consisted of my nails cut with a nail clipper and then one coat of some kind of clear, gravely "polish" applied. When I complained that the nails were badly shaped and I had expected at least a touch up with a nail file and a second coat of nail polish they did nothing! I had sent a friend there several weeks ago and she was very disappointed. I decided to try them anyway... never again. With so many other mani-pedi shops in the neighbourhood (Mass Ave near Porter Sq) it's amazing they are still in business. Stay away ! read more

This was my second trip to Beauty Nails and I highly recommend this place! I first came when the salon I had been going to was on vacation and I needed my dip manicure redone. Was I ever surprised-- I didn't know what I was missing! The difference in the quality was night and day. I loved the strength the dip gave to my nails, but I thought an unpleasant thickness and the sensation that they might "pop off " was normal--not so! Here, the technician used a mini grinder device to smooth my nails, so that they look and feel very natural. I love the result! Beauty Nails is clean, the technicians are unfailingly polite and helpful, and the overall experience is quite pleasant. This time I not only got another dip manicure (which is absolutely magical for weak brittle nails like mine!), but also added a standard pedicure with regular polish. The lady who performed the procedure was very kind and gentle with my gnarly feet and made sure I was comfortable with everything, including my polish color. *EDITED REVIEW TO ENSURE AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION*Beauty Nails and Spa Cambridge overcharges for under qualified nail techs and poor customer service. This was the worst experience I ever had getting my nails done. I left completely in tears and completely humiliated. Beauty Nails & Spa is a small local Cambridge nail salon. I went in for a long stiletto full set in a nude color. The nail tech used clear tips upon request but could not get them to stick. She struggled for about 25 minutes. After she got them on, she struggled to file and shape my nails properly. She seemed to be a nail tech in training who was doing her best but her best was not good enough to be marketed to the public. She made countless mistakes including but not limited to leaving ridges in my nail bed, unshapely nails, poorly handled cuticles, and an overall shape that was subpar at best. I was charged 75 dollars for the service and it took 3 hours to complete. Within an hour two of my nails broke. I went back to the salon and explained the situation, requesting a refund where they wanted to fix the nails. They adamantly blamed me for my choice in tips claiming they were "too delicate" but an experienced nail tech knows how to secure clear nail tips and there was never a warning beforehand. In order to receive my refund I had to sit and get my nails removed. I cried the entire time and had to excuse myself because the way the situation was handled was so unbecoming of any business let alone a so called high end business that charges 75 dollars for a basic look. Only after this fiasco was my refund granted. They waited until they had fully humiliated me in order to help me. As someone who had frequented nail salons for over five years I have never experienced such blatant disrespect. This salon needs to either better train their nail techs, lower their prices, or not offer services they do not know how to do. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU WANT QUALITY NAILS! You are better off going to the Walgreens located right next door and buying press ons and nail glue. read more
